About Orange

Orange UK now trade under the company name "Everything Everywhere Ltd", their merger in 2010 with T-Mobile has created the UK's largest mobile communications company with a customer base in access of 30
million.

Their product range includes Pay Monthly, Pay as you go, Sim Only and Mobile Broadband with a broad range of tariffs and benefits, these include Orange Wednesday's, Orange Rock Corps and Magic Numbers.

Their recent merger with T-Mobile promises improved service levels, network reach, coverage and value for consumers including even greater exclusive deals because of their massive customer base.

History

Orange plc was established in 1995, its origins come from Microtel Communications which was formed in 1990, Microtel was a consortium made up of 4 companies including British Aerospace who went on to gain full control of the company.

Shortly after acquiring a licence to develop a UK mobile network in 1991 BAE sold Microtel to Hutchinson Telecommunications (UK) Ltd. In 1994 Microtel was renamed to Orange
Personal Communications Services Ltd and shortly after their famous slogan "The Future's bright, The Future's Orange" made its debut with the Orange network going live 28th April 1994.

Orange became a public limited company in 1995 valued at £2.4 Billion and was later purchased by France Telecom in 2001, in the interim the company had been owned by Mannesmann AG who in turn were acquired by Vodafone who divested their interest after merging their mobile operations, France Telecom bought back the outstanding shares in 2003.

The Orange brand and network has gone from strength to strength, expanding across continents and now serves over 175 million consumers around the world.

Orange UK's customer base is around 17 million and is one of the UK's fastest growing mobile communications companies.

In May 2010 Orange announced further details of their agreed merger with T-Mobile, the merger creates the largest communications company in the UK with a customer base of over 30 million, the
companies were officially integrated on the 1st July 2010.

The new company is now called "Everything Everywhere" Ltd, within it, the Orange and T-Mobile brands will remain, as will their shops, services and consumer propositions, operating under the Everything Everywhere umbrella. In a statement Everything Everywhere outlined plans for a single super network promising improved coverage, more choice, value and customer service.

Service Coverage UK

Orange UK have had some negative press in relation to their network coverage, however a YouGov report revealed the company have improved its networks reliability and coverage, soon after the company was named as "Best Mobile Broadband" provider indicating major improvements to their voice and data network infrastructure.

In July 2010 the advertising standards agency forced Orange to withdraw marketing campaigns that positioned its Mobile Broadband product as superior to competitors, however the case did reveal that Orange are a respectable 2nd in the UK for their network reach.

Orange UK's merger on the 1st of July 2010 with T-Mobile forming Everything Everywhere Ltd will significantly improve the company's reach, service and propositions to consumers to higher levels.
