A great example of a basic/low price smartphone.

Ctuthill posted on

This is one of the more basic smartphones but at the price you can buy it at it a decent phone. I have had the phone for nearly a year now and have had no problems with it, never had to send it for repairs which is a problem I know other smartphones have. The phone is easy to use, the screen size is adequate, the camera is very good and has a flash and it is an all round good phone. The only bad point is that you can't view videos that require flash player so you cannot watch TV shows on it. Again, for the price of the phone you can't complain about much. The phone is useful to me as it allows me to keep regular contact with friends/family via facebook. It also allows me to keep up to date with news via apps that can be downloaded onto the phone. Major bonus it has a flashlight which come in handy almost every day! I highly recommend this phone if you are after a more basic smartphone that is user friendly.

Great
Reliable and covers what I need

Markit98 posted on

This is a great phone. I love the features and most of all I love the picture quality. I recommend this phone to anyone looking for a good and easy phone.

I use my phone daily to keep in touch with family members, for work and generally for surfing the internet for products and services as well as to keep in touch with my social media friends.

I like using the apps there which help me to perform several tasks like checking for the next bus or when my favorite TV program is on.

I would like the battery life to last longer though.

Good
Great Phone. Easy to use.

Silverfish posted on

I purchased my phone in Feb 2013 on recommendation from family member. I am 70, and not up with latest technology but assistant set the phone up for me. Find phone easy to use and texting is brilliant, compared with an old phone I had previously. Have found hours of fun using the different apps. Camera excellent and easy to use, taking clear photo's. Have still to setup the phone for video recording. Samsung produce a brilliant info page to download and explain everything in easy terms. I have found this very helpful. I would recommend this phone to anyone. Easy to carry, not too small, so easy to handle when using as phone or texting.

Fantastic phone well recommended

This is an excellent phone, easy to use with fantastic features. Battery life good, charge it every few days if using internet. Great for the internet, quick and easy to use! Touch screen is a good size, not too small but not too big either. Light phone to carry around. Good quality camera and good camcorder. Clear screen and images. Texting is easy as keypad is a good size. Easy access to Google Playstore for online downloads. Not a great deal of memory but can use memory card so that is a positive! Can fine lots of cases for phone as well.

Good phone but problem with Internet Browsing

Higamy posted on

It's not too expensive, but you get what you pay for. I use it mostly for browsing the Internet and calls. Call quality is fine, but the problem comes with the Internet browsing. Dashing around pages just isn't possible, you have to wait quite a bit after clicking, and scrolling round a page is kind of jerky. I'd say it's a reasonable phone, but don't expect the high standard of usability that others give you. On the plus side, the battery life seems good and it's a pretty nice design, doesn't let itself down in that respect.

Great
Very useful, love the skimness, pity battery doesn't last longer.

Jeanmac58 posted on

My phone is great, much better than what I had before. Does have a few snags that I am not happy with. Sometimes when I pick up the phone, or am just holding it, I end up adjusting the ring tone. Pity this button is on the side of the phone where you are likely to touch or squeeze the button when just holding your phone. Only really use my phone to chat on Whats app to my daughters in another country, and find this app excellent and keeps me up to date with what they are doing.

Have received quite a few phone calls on this phone and am glad to say that have not had a problem hearing what the caller is saying. Have also played a few games on this phone, and find that it handles this really well. All together, I am very glad I bought a Samsung. I do use the camera a lot to send photos on Whats app and the camera is really easy to use and considering how small and compact the phone is, the camera is really good and takes wonderful photos.

Good
Fab features shame about the battery

Martinhd5 posted on

I love this phone. It does all I need it to do in terms of phone calls, texting, email, etc.. It also helps me keep organised with the calendar, notes and reminder functions. Downloaded apps keep me up to date with local, national and international news as well as weather updates and sports news. I am not a game player but my kids are and they love this phone too and say that the gaming capability is "awesome". The one and only gripe I have is the battery life. When just using it as a phone and making ONE phone call a day to my wife and sending a couple of texts the battery will fully discharge in approximately 14 hours. This is no where near the manufacturers spec and is completely disappointing.

Does enough...just

Patio79 posted on

Good looking phone that is easy to use. Texting made simple with Swype technology. The phone is let down by it's small internal memory and battery life. Would be better if all apps could be added to the memory card. Battery will usually last a day without but only if easy on Internet and app use. The flash isn't that good so photo's in poor lighting don't come out well. Clearly this is an entry level phone which gives a taste of Samsung's premier models. All in all satisfied with what this phone does and would recommend it if you can't afford the Galaxy 2 or 3.

Good functional phone

Joannalacey33 posted on

This phone is fairly light and small enough for pockets and small handbags. The battery life is not so good as soon as I start using any apps or the Internet. One other problem comes about when I try to use the phone whilst it is charging from my computer. The phone seems to get muddled up with where I am touching on the screen when it is plugged in but is then fine when I un-plug it.

I use my phone on a daily basis for calls and texts and play the odd game on it also. I also use it often for the Internet and social media. The camera on the phone is good and has a flash, the video is also able to have the flash on permanently so can be used in dark places if needed. I also use my phone with my in-car blue tooth and this was easy to set up and works fantastically. Overall this phone meets my needs and is handy enough as a phone.

Samsung Galaxy Ace

Mastercd posted on

The mobile is ok for general use but lacks many features, first for the negatives, keeps freezing, limited features, does not hold charge very well, now for the positives, very agile, good to look at. Overall I would not recommend this mobile to friend, colleagues, or family due to it being unreliable but if your looking for a basic phone at a low cost for general calls and texts then this will more than likely suit you. The only main negative I would say about the Samsung Galaxy Ace would be the poor reception (perhaps network?) and slow connection to internet connected site such as google. Please feel free to ignore this but am only going on my own experience

Great design & features, but not battery.

Wayneg552 posted on

The design is very stylish, I really like the touchscreen as it is very responsive. Occasionally the unlock feature would freeze, but a simple push of the lock / unlock button at the side of the phone fixes this. The features of the phone are decent for being a middle of the range smart phone. It runs the Android system very well and I enjoy the applications available on the phone. The camera quality is quite good, I get decent pictures with it, and can handle all sorts of light levels. 3G and Bluetooth features are very helpful as they connect to the most recently used connection. This is handy for getting onto your home router (3G) or connecting to your radio in your car for hands-free calling (Bluetooth). The battery life is very bad for a smart phone, at the minute I only get around 16 hours out of a full charge, and this is with everything turned off (e.g. bluetooth, 3G, data packets) I would recommend this phone, but be sure to get a spare battery or car charge etc so you don't have to worry about it going dead.

Overall a solid well rounded smartphone

Bal20 posted on

Nice looking, solid phone. Very usable for apps and games, good quality screen. Syncing with contacts from facebook etc is very user friendly, and handy. However, can be sluggish with games that have complex levels (eg some angry birds levels). Battery life generally lasts about a day with fair use. The Internet is fast and very easy to navigate around. My only problem for a while was with an email account that it could not sync properly with, which stopped the app market working and downloads. I had to overcome it with a hard reset and changing the URL of my email account. Deleting the account on the phone did not work. Overall, very impressed.

All handset reviews by website users are their subjective, personal opinions and not of Rightmobilephone.co.uk (TRG Online Ltd).
