Virgin Mobile Phone Tariffs

Virgin Mobile Pay Monthly Tariffs start from £10 per month on either 18 or 24 month contracts and you can save £5 extra a month on 24 month contracts.

Unlimited web access is charged at 0.30p per day and only charged if you use it (fair usage applies). Alternatively you can have this included within your tariff choice.

Virgin also provide one simple pay as you go tariff, £10 top ups a month included 300 texts and unlimited web access for 0.30p a day, a £15 top up provides unlimited text messages and web access and 5 free callbacks.

If you are happy with your current handset Virgin also have a selection of sim only deals on fixed contract or rolling 30 day periods.

Virgin Service Coverage UK

Virgin Mobile's network coverage is supplied by T-Mobile, this provides Virgin Mobile customers 99% 2G coverage of the UK population and 85% 3G.

Important to note that the agreement that Virgin have with T-Mobile will not be effected by T-Mobile's recent merger with Orange UK and will likely provide even more coverage, service and value.

Operating as an MVNO (Mobile Virtual Network Operator) Virgin Mobile do not have the cost of servicing or maintaining their own network. By using T-Mobile as their network provider Virgin Mobile are able to focus on customer service and value that has resulted in winning "Best Customer Service" for 9
years in a row (Mobile Choice Consumer Awards).

Pay monthly offers start from £10 a month, Virgin also provide one simple pay as you go tariff.

Virgin Mobile customers can also access offers such as V Festival Tickets, handset upgrade discounts and free call back features.

Virgin History

Launched in 1999 Virgin Mobile was the UK's first MVNO (Mobile Virtual Network Operator), this means Virgin Mobile do not own or operate their own network but form agreements to use the capacity of other existing networks.

Initially it was a joint venture between One2One and the Virgin Group with Virgin leasing bandwidth from One2One and selling it under the Virgin Mobile brand.

Virgin Mobile were aqcuired by NTL Telewest in April 2006, shortly after NTL Telewest were rebranded to Virgin Media, with Virgin Mobile becoming one of their supporting services and brands alongside their TV, Telephone and Broadband services.

Virgin Mobile now a subsidiary of Virgin Media sell contract airtime, handsets, pay as you go and mobile broadband products supported by their partnership agreement with the T-Mobile network.

Virgin Media service almost 10 million customers and has 13,000 employees across the UK.

Virgin Media has announced the launch of its Spotify service, following on from the partnership agreement announced back in July this year. Virgin Media customers will gain access to millions of music tracks via the web, TV and mobile using Spotify. Virgin has announced that customers of the Virgin Mobile network can now gain access to the Orange network, when in areas of poor coverage. The deal comes as part of the combining of T-Mobile and Orange into Everything Everywhere. Virgin Mobile operates as a virtual network, using T-Mobile coverage. Mobile network operator Three leads the way with customer complaints within the UK, topping a recent survey by network regulator OfCom. Following Three come T-Mobile and Orange, although T-Mobile's level of complaints have improved significantly from Q1 to Q2 2011, whereas Three have been getting progressively worse from Q4 2010. Customers of Everything Everywhere and Three are set for a boost to their mobile data speeds, following a £100 million plus agreement with Virgin Media Business.
