Symbian news
Industry analyst Gartner has announced in a report that in the first quarter of 2012, Android smartphones held a 56% market share, easily beating the 22.9% held by the Apple iPhone.
The data from Gartner also showed that Samsung were by far the most popular manufacturer of Android devices, generating nearly 44% of that market share. Other manufacturers of Android devices, including HTC and Motorola, were all at less than 10%.
Combined figures showed that one in every two smartphone sales was either a Samsung device or the iPhone.

According to a report from analysts Kantar WorldPanel, sales of Windows Phone 7 devices in the UK have overtaken those of the old Nokia smartphone OS, Symbian.
From a market share in the UK last year of 12.4 percent, Symbian sales now account for 2.4 percent, whilst Windows Phone has reached a share of 2.5 percent.

Using a new technology called oversampling, the PureView handset has a high resolution 41 Megapixel sensor, with a Carl Zeiss lens, that together combine to allow the 808 capture images never before seen on a mobile phone. When...
Without a doubt, one of the most eye-catching announcements at the recent Mobile World Congress was the announcement of the Nokia PureView 808, a cameraphone boasting an amazing 41 Megapixel camera.
The downside amongst all the excitement came when people realised that the handset was running Nokia Belle, formerly known as Symbian. The main issue being, Nokia have long announced that their future plans revolve around the implementation and support of Windows Phone for their smartphone range.
If you find yourself in a conflicting position, of wanting the decent camera but not the OS, then the good news is Nokia have confirmed...
