The only phone I have really been 100% satisfied with
Excellent phone, features include video, music and photos. I was very impressed with this phone and it has been the only phone I have really been 100% satisfied with. It has an excellent MP3 player and a decent radio and comes in a variety of colours from black to white. It is easy to use and navigate. 10 out of 10.
About a year old the soft material cracked and started to come away
I've used this phone for over a year now and it is basically a good handset with a sliding front. The navigation buttons on the front are lined by a soft material which became marked very quickly. When the phone was about a year old the soft material cracked and started to come away. This alone means I would not recommend this handset
Contract up but not going to bother getting new phone
Best phone I've ever had, comes with memory card so got loads of tunes and pics on - don't need to take cd player on holiday anymore. Internet access good, also video and pictures (if slightly small). Battery life good also. All in all, my contract up but I not going to bother getting new phone - quite happy with features on this one.
A very nice phone with loads of features
This slider phone, although a little bulky (22mm thick) is an excellent addition to the Sony Ericsson range. It doubles up as a Walkman player and I use it regularly to play mp3 tracks and listen to it's in-built radio (although the reception can be noisy),
The headphone socket is a bit cumbersome, I would prefer a universal mini-jack socket, but I suppose Sony Ericsson have their reasons for the connection supplied.
A drawback that I have discovered is the fact that sliding the phone shut, does not disconnect from the telephone call you were making (you physically have to press the disconnect button).
All in all (despite my aforementioned gripes) a very nice phone with loads of features.
Scroll down button became less responsive after the first six months
The phone is quite bulky, compared to the slim line phones that are around. The scroll down button became less responsive after the first six months and this has happened on a number of these phones apparently.
The camera is fairly good and has a decent amount of zoom on it, the music player is also very good. The memory is quite large and as a Walkman mobile phone I cannot fault it.
However some of the other applications, do not work as well as I had hoped.
Would be better if the phone came with a standard audio jack
Overall, this is a good phone with good features, some of the buttons are a bit fiddly to use. When texting you have to be careful that you have made proper contact with the buttons as sometimes the letter do not register.
The Walkman is good but it would have been better if the phone came with a standard audio jack so that you were not restricted to using the headphones supplied.
I like the overall design of Sony Ericsson phones and would definitely buy one again.
Massive memory, good features, excellent camera!
My husband and I both upgraded our phones from the K800i to this model and found the phone much better.
There is no joystick to use the menu, it's just good old top, bottom, left and right keys. The phone has a massive memory, before you even need a separate memory card and the volume is amazing, you will never miss a call when you have this phone on full volume.
It's easy to use, looks great and does everything I need it to do and then some with ease and the camera is brilliant on it too, I love it!
Never had an issue with it and find it easy to use
I've been happy with the W850i from Sony since I got it, I use it for music as well as pictures and videos. Never had an issue with it and find it easy to use, the camera is the only issue I have had and that was when I wanted to print them out from the photo printer, I have found that the more advanced cameras are much better.
The camera is superb and the sound quality is great
This phone is great, the camera is superb and the sound quality is great, the only thing I would say is that the phone is a bit bulky. However it does alot and you can video call people if they have this feature as well. It is more for a man I think than it is for a women but its easy to navigate around and as I said it does so much you need a few days to look around and get used to it.
The camera is of a very high quality
The W850i is one of the easiest phones to use I have had. It is a nice simple design and has no ugly unsightly extras that are just pointless.
Also uploading music is simple and with a contract the memory card is huge. The camera is of a very high quality however you cannot edit pictures well on the phone and you should do this using a photo editor.
A light compact phone with very useful features
The W850i from Ericsson is great, a light compact phone with very useful features. including a decent MP3 player accessed easily with the 'orange bar' button.
There are a few flies in the ointment however, I found connecting the phone to a computer to load music or pictures onto the Memory Stick to be a pain as it hardly ever worked. A much easier way was to take the card out of the phone and stick it in the memory card reader on the computer.
I have a few concerns about the build quality of the phone also. The connection on the base of the phone is a bit dodgy, I have had two phones replaced due to this. Apart from those two problems its not a bad phone, intuitive interfaces and easy to navigate.
The features are great
I have had this mobile for a year now. It has been fab apart from the first two weeks. When I first got the phone the back light seemed to have a mind of its own and switched off for days at a time, this made the phone unusable in the dark.
After about a month this problem seemed to disapear and the phone has been great since. The features are great I have dropped it a few times and its still working. Cant be bad.
Overall the phone is really good - the mp3 player is very usable, the radio has pretty good reception (even on the train) and the phone itself works pretty well with good sound quality.
The only downside I would say is that the large screen is fairly vulnerable to scratches so don't keep it in your pocket with your keys.
