It could do with a better camera flash
Good cheap phone with lots of features, can be picked up for about £50 these days. It could do with a better camera flash and the joystick can at times get stuck on the menu. Night photos are awful but the days one for the cost are more than adequate.
Photographs taken with this phone are of an exceptional quality
Excellent phone, smart looking phone with the round steel buttons which make for easier texting. Photographs taken with this phone are of an exceptional quality.
The only thing that lets this phone down is the charging port on it. As with all Sony Ericsson phones the plastic prongs on the charger start to become distorted which makes it a nightmare to charge. Apart from this it is a very capable and sturdy phone
Intuative controls make this an easy phone to master
Solid build, this phone has survived being dropped more times than I care to remember. The joystick controller I have found to be problematic, on some earlier models this has survived for over a year without fault.
The camera lens cover is a weak point as this loosens over time (as with the K800i) leaving the lens exposed. Pictures are of a good quality, however, the flash is all or nothing. For close up work it simply whites out everything but photos from any distance are too dark. Having said that, photos that do work and can be blown up to A4 size with acceptable results.
The track I.D is an impressive feature though probably not overly useful. Intuative controls make this an easy phone to master for old fogeys like me.
Overall the Ericsson K810i is a very good buy
Very reliable phone which is easy to use for all the features. The battery life is superb and recharges very quickly. The camera, while not the best available is sufficient for normal use and has provided me with many good quality prints. Overall this is a very good buy.
As with previous K series phones the joystick becomes stuck after a while
Overall this is a pretty good phone. There are a few problems with it however. As with previous K series phones the joystick becomes stuck after a while. The other problem I have is the phone keeps turning itself off. I believe this to either be a problem with the battery or the connection between the battery and the phone.
just as good as photographs taken from my existing digital camera
Really good mobile phone, I was never keen on having a digital camera as a feature on my mobile phone but the quality of photographs taken from this phone are second best to none and are just as good as photographs taken from my existing digital camera.
excellent Walkman function and decent camera too
Had the phone for 2.5 years now, excellent Walkman function and decent camera too. Wear and tear is excellent as I hardly have any marks or damage and I'm always dropping the phone. Excellent battery life when fully charged, highly recommended.
Really good phone, it has served me very well, the joystick not robust enough
Really good phone, it has served me very well, however the joystick is starting to break. I think this is quite a common problem with Sony Ericsson phones and it's probably the reason that their newer phones have a D-pad instead of a joystick. Brilliant camera and other features are nice. Good, solid interface unlike some others I've used where you feel like it will freeze at any moment.
Lets itself down in its long term usability
The K810i is the slimmer updated version of the K800i, it has sleaker more grown up looks that make it much more desirable.
The camera is the same quality good quality 3.2 Megapixels, and now has flash, which is missing from so many phones in this price range.
One problem which is common with so many Sony Ericsson Phones is the connection it uses for charging/Headphones/PC Connection. Which after a short time, becomes a little unstable and requires a 'wiggling' of the wire to get it to work. But you can get very good bluetooth stereo headphones that mean you can save a little bit of life on the connection.
Another problem with the K810i as was with the K800i is the joystick, which after time starts to lose responsiveness, my K800i lasted a little over 14 months, where as the K810i started going at 8 months.
All in all the K810i looks and feels nice and has a great camera, and multi functionality. But lets itself down in its long term usability.
takes good photos which is very important to me as I love to take photos
The phone is ok however I did experience a few problems with it, the buttons were sticking but since I had it fixed no other problems with it. I like the camera on the phone, its a good megapixel and takes good photos which is very important to me as I love to take photos.
The phone also looks slim and smart, I would recommend the Sony Ericsson phones to anyone and wouldnt have another make of phone.
think the phone is good but I have a problem
I think the phone is good but I have a problem with the phone. Its on pay as you go with Orange, 3G works for 12 hours or more then displays "inactive sim", I have no warranty and its definitely not stolen. I have taken the phone to about 15 shops now and they havent got a clue whats wrong with it. Personally I think I need to download new software but that will mean I will loose all my personal videos and pictures.
Small and lightweight, just the right size
Great phone, possibly the best phone I've owned to date. Small and lightweight, just the right size for your pocket.
Has a kind of rubbery backing which is very tactile and helps it to be non-slip when placed on most surfaces. Nice round buttons that I feel are just the right size, but maybe to small for those with large fingers.
pleased with it, except that dust has got in between the case and the screen
I have had this phone for over a year and been really pleased with it, except for the fact that lots of dust has got in between the case and the screen, which makes it difficult to view the screen in bright light. I love the fact that the phone is so thin and light, find it very easy to use.
the number pad is surrounded by a clear pastic cover which gets very dirty
This phone is very good but I feel there are some things on it that brings it down from being a must buy.
Firstly the size for me is an issue, its too big. It is slightly thicker than the K800i but is still a lot bigger than most handsets nowadays. I found it difficult to put the device in my pocket when wearing jeans.
Secondly, the number pad is surrounded by a clear pastic cover which gets very dirty very quickly. I spent a lot of time cleaning the front but within five minutes of use it was back to the same unclean state.
However it is a very solid piece of kit. I have dropped it several times and it still works. Also the camera is good in bright daylight but not so good in dark lights.
good contacts system and basic ringtones, not too bad
Have contract with O2 but the internet access is very poor so not possible to use browsers or the internet on a regular basis unless with specific applications.
Camera is quite good quality but not good on night time images. Need to use additional software to improve images. Useful features for day to day activities, good contacts system and basic ringtones not too bad. Needs additional memory to make best use of the phone.
Easy to use in many ways inc texting, a good all round phone
Nice little phone with lots of good features, an excellent camera which will give the 5.0 megapixel cameras a run for their money. Easy to use in many ways inc texting, a good all round phone, handy size too so doesnt get lost easy, well done to Sony for producing a quality phone.
Easy to use, good memory and also light in weight
Excellent phone, with great cybershot. Easy to use, good memory and also light in weight, would recommend to everyone. Video is good quality, excellent memory, but would also recommend buying a memory card. Stores lots of music and speakers are good if you like to listen to your music on your phone.
Very easy menus with this brand of phone, would like more alarm functions
I had the K750i, my favourite phone ever. The K810i is great, similar style, few extra bonus features. Very easy menus with this brand of phone. Would prefer extra alarm choices, not just daily and one other alarm choice. Would prefer multiple regular alarms. Very good sounds, good memory upgrade options. Would recommend.
easy to use, big screen, great for pictures, buttons could be more robust
Its not the best mobile phone I have had but it does have easy functions and I like the big screen. The only dow side with this phone is I found a few of the buttons would come off very easy, but overall a great phone and great for pictures and easy to add them to my computer.
Slim nature of the phone means that it isn't that robust
Great phone that's very light and easy to use, the Walkman sound is of high quality as is the camera.
Only drawback is that the slim nature of the phone means that it isn't that robust. My screen cracked after only 4 months of use through only general use, seems to be more delicate than other Sony Ericsson's I've used.
A great phone, never had any problems with it
Easy to use and has some really good features, the Facewarp is on there but gets boring after a while. Music player isnt great and its annoying that the volume is constantly set to middle so when you try to listen to songs you have to turn it up every time. Overall a great phone, never had any problems with it.
Nothing is as good, as stylish yet easy to use
This phone is the ultimate, its so easy use and so functional you cannot go wrong. The camera is fantastic producing quality photographs, no more carrying around a camera as well, these or other photographs can then be used for your wallpaper or screensaver giving your phone a personal touch.
The buttons are easy so when you need to send that speedy text, you are not 'all fingers and thumbs',
once you've had a Sony Ericsson you will not ever go back...nothing is as good, as stylish yet easy to use.
The camera on the K810i is superb
The camera on the K810i is superb, when you transfer the pictures to your PC you can see they are excellent quality.
Easy navigation through menus which are clear and offer help if you are unsure what you are looking at.
The new design with round buttons is much easier to use and stops you from pressing adjacent buttons in error.
This handset is very user-friendly, the only slight downside is, I find, the battery runs down quicker than the K800i.
The K810i is superb
The K810i is superb, there are 2 games that are OK, but for the best games you have to pay, but thats not suprising.
Had the phone for three months and not one fault with it so far and I had terrible luck with everything I bought in 2007, this phone is excellent and I would recommend it.
The camera (3.2MP) is awesome, has photo fix and photo create & face warp were you can do amazing things with photos. It's not a Walkman phone but has the design to be one, there's a music layer that works exactly the same as the Walkman phones though
This phone has a thumbs up from me
Very pleased with SE K810i
I have had this phone, K810i, for 4 months now and must say I am very pleased with it.
It is quite similar to the K800i but they have made a few changes. Probably the best one is the round buttons - these are extremely easy to use now and you don't hit the other ones by accident anymore.
The camera is excellent and has a sliding lens protector.
It is very easy to navigate with a joystick control and has loads of features like bluetooth, camera, video, mms, email, mp3, mp4 and loads more - too much to list.
It is also a very good looking phone and has a decent size screen.
Excellent phone but has some issues
Got this phone last october on an o2 contract.
The phone itself is an excellent phone and the camera is brillent.
However the middle button wears down very quickly and the phone becomes harder and harder to use.
Some software bugs too, phone freezes and sometimes turns off.
To be honest I would stick to nokia.
Nothing but pleased with this phone! Feature packed
Have had this phone for nearly a year now and I have been nothing but pleased with it.
It is a very nice size and weight, with an excellent 3.2 mega-pixel camera, that takes better pictures than a lot of digital camera's I have seen.
Plenty of features to keep you amused for a long, long time!
Keypad lock could be improved
Great phone but it does have a big design flaw. If you don't lock the keys and put the phone in your pocket or down on its face 8/10 times you will pick it up and find it has logged on to the web browser. When I download photos onto my computer I had loads of images come up that I have not downloaded. Apart from that great phone.
Can't fault W810i features but poor battery
Couldn't fault any of the features of the SE W810i.
Had to send back the original one due to faulty camera, which had a faulty zoom, poor quality picture, missing pixels.
The battery life lasted 3 days compared with 7 days for my W810i.
The replacement is marginally better, but still poor battery life.
I have adjusted the settings to 3.2 mega pixel, just in case someone thought otherwise! Good sound from the supplied headphones, but whoever invented those daft silica plugs, which fall out of your ear, should have a rethink.
