absolute corker of a phone, when it works.
Probably the best phone I've used since the days of my trusty Nokia 3210.
The main attraction to this handset, for me anyway, was the camera. I've had a stack ace pics taken on this that come out great on screen and printed. Helped I'm sure by the fact it sports a real flash, something that seems to be getting rarer these days.
Secondly I was attracted to the slide design because I was fed up of calling people in my pocket. Slider covers keys so don't get pressed in pocket, phone bill doesn't come to a 3 figure sum every month.
Wi-fi was another thing I fancied and that too worked well on the C905 picking up networks from across the street, it had no problem connecting and staying connected to my own.
With updates from the SE site there are a good few additional features added since it's release. Walkmate (a pedometer), Google maps although I've yet to master this, along with all the usual ones you'd expect. In fact you'd be forgiven for thinking this was a smart-phone, but it sadly isn't.
One thing is apparent on this phone and if you search the term 'c905 earpiece' you'll see what I mean. There are thousands and thousands of reports of the earpice failing after a short period after purchase. Mine has packed in 3 times in the 1st 14 months, which to me is unacceptable.
Basically this is an absolute corker of a phone, when it works.
Some have been lucky, I know 2 or 3 people who've used this for as long as I have and had no problem at all. It's true the internet doesn't show as much good news as bad, and as a result the most of the C905 stories you'll read are bad simply because if a user is happy with their phone, they won't be searching for fixes.
It is at least a great camera, so when the time comes to upgrade from a C905 to a newer model remember this, your C905 is the best camera you'll already have in your pocket!
the phone started freezing up all the time
The phone is simple to use when its working, however more often than not there is some sort of problem with it.
Firstly the speakers broke within a few weeks of having the phone then it was sent away and it took ages to get it fixed. Secondly the phone started freezing up all the time. I finally gave up an got a new phone after just having it 7 months.
Not happy at all. These phones are very expensive for what they are.
Brilliant phone, great camera
I love this phone. I am often changing phones but this must be the one I have stuck with the longest. I particularly like the ability to view the whole conversation when texting people rather than just the text you receive.
There is a common problem with this phone and that is, the speaker goes in many of the handsets. I had mine a while and thought I had got a lucky one but unfortunately it did happen to me. Eventually I sent it off to Sony and they repaired it and had it back to me in days!
Brilliant phone, great camera. Massive space on the phone itself but can also expand with a memory card. Definitely reccommend.
The Camera on this phone is very good
The Camera on this phone is very good, easy to use, high quality photos. Video quality is ok, the sound can be a bit distored if sound it loud. The design of the phone is nice with the slide on it, the keys get a bit scratched after a while. Battery life is good on this phone.
The speaker has broken on it so could only speak to people on loud speaker so had to get repaired. The phone freezes and the only way you can turn the phone off is by taking the battery out. Buttons have got stuck a few times as well.

for no reason at all the phone will just stop working
The phone has an excellent 5 megapixel camera but other than that it is pretty basic. The back button sticks a lot and sometimes for no reason at all the phone will just stop working, it happened to me in an emergency and wouldn't let me phone out, had to switch phone off for 5 minutes then back on and it worked fine.
Predictive text is a real problem, wont spell a lot of words so texting takes forever, also can not clear out dictionary so some words are stored using capitals, very annoying.
The Phone has its downsides when making/taking calls or texting
I have always used Sony Erricson Phones. This one, when I first had it was amazing. I would use the camera feature (8.1mp!!) all the time but the use of the phone is somewhat frustrating.
Overall it has excellent features such as the usual calculator, timer, alarm etc and the sound quality from it is excellent for use as an alarm and MP3 player.
The Phone has its downsides when making/taking calls or texting. It is at these times where you will often find the phone freezing for a few seconds whilst you await for it to respond to your command. (Very annoying) It also has a weaker signal strength than my girlfriends old K800i and thats around 4 yrs old!
It originally appeared to be a great phone but I am now waiting for my contract to end so that I can then get a better model.
boasts a fantastic camera
The best phone i've ever owned...Or is it The best camera i've ever owned? The Sony Ericsson C905 is really easy to use on a day-to-day basis for phone calls, text and organising. It also boasts a fantastic camera which is just as good as most stand-alone cameras. The photos can easily be blown up to A3 size with no loss in quality.

All applications are easy to use
Great phone and easy to use. Camera can be quite dark sometimes and the button to switch between recording and picture can be easily caught by accident. All applications are easy to use and the music streaming is an advantage. Shortcuts are easy to create from the 1st screen and can make text messages quick and easy.
it has broke on a few occasions and I have had to replace it
The phone is great and has beautiful modern features. It's usability is pretty good and ive had no problems with its capabilities. However, I have had a fair bit of trouble with its reliancy, it has broke on a few occasions and I have had to replace it. The speaker has broke twice and on the third occasion the number 9 button stopped working. So far with the latest replacement I have had no problems, touch wood.
all the devices I wanted in one, really satisfied
If your looking for a phone thats simple to use, great for music and photo's, has a good design then this phone is recommended. I have always been a fan of the Sony Ericsson with my first one being the K750i that I used for years.
It retains the standard Sony Ericsson operating system thus retaining most of the generic Sony Ericsson features. The unit benefits an 8.1 Mega Pixel Camera combined with Carl Zeiss Lens giving the C905 an upper hand on most camera phones and produces almost perfect photo's for any occasion.
The key feature for me is that it retains the HID device most the Sony Models do (Pre Symbian OS) so I can still control all my Laptop Media Via Bluetooth, one feature the new Satio lacks! Let down wise I have none, prior to buying the C905 I knew I wanted an MP3, a new Phone and a new Camera, in the end I decided to go for the C905 as it is all the devices I wanted in one, really satisfied.

was told that it was as good as my previous Nokia N95 8mb
I was recommended to this phone by my local O2 store when I went for an upgrade. I was told that it was as good as my previous Nokia N95 8mb. The camera is the only thing on this c905 that is of quality.
The phone constantly stuck which meant I had to clear it by removing the battery and restarting. This often happened at night or when waiting for important calls. I was told that a software upgrade was needed on a brand new phone but in doing this I would lose all downloaded apps like google maps etc,{£5 to download}.
I did as I was told only to find that a couple of weeks later the same fault was happening, this time a very unhelpful O2 employee told me it needed to be sent away, with the loss of all apps downloaded.
I have gold insurance from O2 but this does not apply?. In conlusion the phone is back repaired but again within 2 weeks is back to its faulty self. This has been my most disappointing phone in 20 years and I cannot recommend it. When it does work the internet access and graphics are very poor and slow too.
great camera that has numerous settings for flash and environment
The C905 is a very easy to operate handset with great features and a great camera that has numerous settings for flash and environment.
The biggest letdown, however, is the phones build quality. The case in quite soft plastic that picks up scratches and scuffs easily. The connector from the phone to the charger is fragile and Orange have now replaced my handset three times, and my charger once in just over 12 months. Make sure you have good insurance with this handset.
extremely easy to use and is packed with outstanding features
The phone is extremely easy to use and is packed with outstanding features installed on it and the camera is brilliant, basically removing the need for a digital camera, although it did become a little bit slow when I added a memory card to it, however the build quality is not great so would highly recommend taking out an insurance policy with the phone just incase.

unfortunately the up/down and left/right buttons keep seizing up
A very nice phone with a great camera, unfortunately the up/down and left/right buttons keep seizing up and also the speaker keeps going. I had to take 2 phones back to the shop where I bought it and get them replaced. I also kept getting cut off mid conversation which turned out to be the speaker, the other person could here me but it was dead at my end.
was one of my favourite phones I have owned
Great phone providing you get one that works. This is my first Sony Ericsson, its easy to use, love the little shortcut buttons dotted around the phone. I had the pink one which appealed to me even more.
Camera is exellent, was very happy with everything. Only risk with this phone is after a while the speaker went so couldnt call anyone unless it was on loud speaker and when that was repaired the signal went and wont come back no matter where I am.
They cant mend this feature so I have exchanged my phone for an LG. I know many C905 owners that have had various problems and keep sending them to be repaired but also know people that have no problems at all. I dont regret getting the phone as when it worked it was one of my favourite phones I have owned but I reccommend you take out the insurance.
after about 8 weeks the number 6 on the keypad stopped
I've had the Sony Ericsson C905 since January 2009. When I first got the phone, after about 8 weeks the number 6 on the keypad stopped pressing in, making it really hard to use it. After a couple of weeks of putting up with that the speaker also stopped working, meaning I could only use the phone with the loudspeaker on. I finally got it fixed and now the button has gone again!

The overall feeling is that I will make do
The phone over time has become a little flakey, intermitment loss of texting, the camera comes on for no apparent reason. The overall feeling is that I will make do until I can change for a different product when my contract is up. I know if I send it back to be fixed I will just get stiffed.
let down by this handset in comparison to older Sony models
I`ve owned this phone for 2 months now and hate it with a passion! Turns off if you close the slider or camera cover, wifi won`t connect to hotspots, vibrate function fails constantly. I feel seriously let down by this handset in comparison to older Sony Ericsson models I`ve had which have been faultless.
I`ve lost all faith in the brand now and once funds allow will be getting a Nokia n86/n97 or Palm Pre.
all the features you would expect from a dedicated digital camera
This was my first contract phone and I was very impressed with the quality of the camera. At 8.0 megapixels it was until recently the best camera phone on the market, although now Samsung and Sony Ericsson have introduced 12 megapixel camera phones.
The camera has all the features you would expect from a dedicated digital camera and the music player is of a high quality although not a good as Sony Ericssons walkman phones. The memory can be expanded up to 8gigabyte with a memory card.
The only real fault with this phone was the keypad where the keys are too close together and when you text its easy to press the wrong letter. The keypad is also a bit too plasticy in design. The c905 also has a bad habit of freezing up and switching itself off. Overall though its a very good phone and would be ideal for people into photography.

love the camera, holds lots of pictures and songs
Great looking phone, stylish, easy to use, love the camera. Holds lots of pictures and songs. Had a few problems with the phone, sometimes it like to do its own thing. But my service provider quickly sent a new one. But apart from that everything is else it's great
camera is fantastic
Love the phone, had a few problems with it to begin with but all seems fine with replacement one I was given by service provider. Great features holds loads of pictures, camera is fantastic, great for when you just want to catch the moment there and then.
excellent customer service from the Sony Ericsson team
Apart from a minor fault with the speaker, the phone itself is one of the best phones I have ever owned. It takes excellent quality pictures. May I add that when the phone was sent off for repair we received excellent customer service from the Sony Ericsson team.

fairly bulky, but not intrusive phone, smooth slide action
A fairly bulky, but not intrusive phone, smooth slide action. Camera is easy to use with a whole host of features, including smile-detector (which does work!) Easy to use and menu navigation is problem-free. A very good phone offering with many applications. Sony Ericsson has kept its simple yet timeless interface allowing previous owners of Sony Ericssons to quickly familiarise themselves with the C905, and lets new customers learn the basics quickly!
particularly ideal for someone who wants a quality camera
This phone is available in a variety of colours. I chose "tender rose" which is a soft pink with a slightly gold tone. The colour stood out to me because it is a lot more modest and subtle than other pink phones on the market. I found it difficult to find this colour available though, as it doesn't seem that may phone stores stock it.
The design is sleek and simple. It is a slide phone, but feels quite sturdy. There are only a few keys on the face of the phone. The slide out keys have a nice design, and are not painted on so should not fade or scratch with use. It is solid and slightly chunky. There is no fiddly on/off key so would be suitable for those who find these tricky.
The best feature on the phone is the camera. It has an 8.1 megapixel camera with a xenon flash. There are also may types of shoot mode and camera features. The screen is quite large and the display is bright and clear. I've found that it is very easy to take photos and the photos are good quality. It does seem to prefer natural light to artificial light though, and some indoor shots look a little yellow. Therefore it needs a bit of experimenting with the different shoot modes to get the shot right sometimes.
There are also a number of media options on the phone, including tv. I haven't used these much as I have no interest in these features. However the display screen is clear with good colour, and the sound is also very good so I don't think people using these features would be disapponted.
The menu is very similar to other Sony Ericsson phones, so anyone familiar with Sony Ericsson would get used to this phone quickly.
Text messages are displayed in a clear font and are easy to write and read. When making calls, the sound is clear.
My phone is quite new, however I've found that the battery life is very good. In the past two weeks I've only had to charge it three times (with moderate use).
Overall, this is a good all round phone, and particularly ideal for someone who wants a quality camera. There is something for everyone with this phone, and I highly recommend it.
favourite brand of phone and this phone yet again proves why
I do love this phone! Sony Ericsson's are definitely my favourite brand of phone and this phone yet again proves why. It is extremely simple to use yet fully up to date with the latest technonlogy. It has all the typical Sony Ericsson features so if you loved your last Sony Ericsson you will love this one even more, if you have not had one before this will fully convert you to.

frequently gets mistaken for a camera
When using this phone it frequently gets mistaken for a camera, the picture quality is excellent and all the pictures are easy to upload to a computer with the free USB it comes with.
It is very robust, I know as I have dropped it a few times leaving barely a scratch on it. All the applications are very easy to use and find. It is quite a chunky phone but it has everything that you could need from a phone including some excellent headphones.
never had any software problems like I have on previous phones
Fantastic phone, takes amazing pictures and have never had any software problems like I have on previous phones. Lots of great features, all very easy to access and also a very robust, as I have dropped it a couple of times and had no problems. Excellent.
no major problems with it and the camera is top notch
The phone seems impressive through the information the manufacturers present, although I have no major problems with it and the camera is top notch, the buttons arent the easiest to use and it is a little bigger than other phones of the same standard. The screen and graphics are excellent as is the sound quality, the memory is of a good size and easily increased with a memory card.

holidays, day out, photos come out top notch
I recommend this phone to everyone because it's the best Sony Ericsson out yet in my opinion. The 8MP camera is wicked and I dont have to carry a camera anymore. My holidays, day outs and normal photos are taken with my phone and it comes out top notch.
The menu is user friendly and easy to use. If you're a person that is very forgetful or needs a reminder once in a while, you can post your reminders/notes on the desktop so everytime you open the phone its in your face. Very useful!
no need to take a camera out
This is the phone I currently have and I love it. The picture quality is brill, with 5.0 megapixels, no need to take a camera out and about when you have this phone. Texting is also quick and easy. The only thing I would say was a little poor is the weight, it is a bit on the heavy side, but not too much.
very sleek and stylish handset and the 8mp camera is brilliant
I bought this handset when it first came out, I normally go for Nokia's but there wasnt anything out at the time of my upgrade that was much better than the mobile I had at the time.
At first I loved the handset, it was a little hard to get over the normal Nokia features that I had been used to, I feel it is a very sleek and stylish handset and the 8mp camera is brilliant!! As I had one of the first handsets I had a few software problems but once that was ironed out I haven't had any further problems with it.

8.0 mgp camera on it means I can go out with just the phone
Love this phone, 8.0 mgp camera on it means I can go out with just the phone! Massive memory too. I've had over 4000 msgs along with pics etc stored on it. However sometimes it does stick, as has a friends, but I think they have new software out for the phone which doesnt do this.
some of the features such as the GPS are fun but not that accurate
The slide seems a little flimsy, it feels as if it wobbles up rather than slides. Overall as a phone it works brilliantly, some of the features such as the GPS are fun but not that accurate. The 8.1 Mp camera is a not as good as you would think it to be, often the pictures do not come out as well as you hope.
the C905 really impressed me with its camera capabilities and looks
Apart from the earpiece going recently, this phone is an excellent handset. Working for a mobile phone company I get to play with all different types of phones including the iPhone but the C905 really impressed me with its camera capabilities and the way it looks...I'm a simple person really!

Great phone with fantastic features. Can be a bit tricky to text as the keypad is a bit fiddley.
The GPS software only lasts a few weeks but still useful. Camera is well... fantastic as you would expect for an 8 mega pixel camera phone.
Wifi is also very useful while at home or away. The new smile software is also great for taking photos of happy people.
a reliable high end camera phone
This is great phone on paper with great specs. It also looks and feels great in your hand but I do feel the build quality of the phone could be better but really its not too bad.
The camera is brilliant I must say though and to be honest so is everything on the phone. Though one downfall I have with the phone is the keyoboard as its flat, I find I make mistakes quite often. The multimedia side of the phone is quite good and listening to music is made easy.
Overall a great phone and obviously its best feature is the camera but is good for listening to music aswell, would recommend to anyone wanting a reliable high end camera phone.
I am extremely happy with the new C905
I love Sony Ericsson phones and I am extremely happy with the new C905 8GB version. The camera is of excellent quality, so there is no need to carry another camera on a night out. The design is the same as any Ericsson phone, meaning the are no new maps to follow to learn the handset. With the WI-FI function it makes it easy to connect to the net when out and about too. Excellent phone, great features and recommended.

Generally like this phone apart from these little snags
Overall a good phone but buttons to small for texting and dialling, camera not as good at night than day, I've tried everything to sort that out but no joy. Generally like this phone apart from these little snags, would definitely recommend it though.
the screen responds very well to direct sunlight
The quality of the build is fantastic and the screen responds very well to direct sunlight. All the features are useful and the buttons on the keypad and main body of the phone are easy to use. It does takes its time to load up but the 8.1!!! megapixel camera is fantastic
phone feels of a good build, the camera provides high quality pictures
I am on my second handset as the first one developed a speaker fault. The phone feels of a good build, the camera provides high quality pictures as it is a cybershot phone, it also has the xenon flash which can be turned on or off or left on automatic.
The menus are easy to use. I also like the "conversations" feature as it lets you track the texts between you and friends in their own individal conversations for each person.
This is a fantastic phone and I would recommend it, even the clarity of the sound through the speakers is excellent. I need a phone with loud volume as I dont hear very well so this phone was an excellent choice for me.

music media set up is better and feels like more of an MP3 player
I upgraded to this phone from the K800i. It has a few new good features like Sat Nav, 8.1. megapixel camera and wifi.
The phone looks good. It is sleek and easy to use. The slide function moves well and seems sturdy. Easy to use for previous Sony Ericsson users because the menu and functions have remained more or less the same. The music media set up is better and feels like more of an MP3 player. Good battery life and expandable memory
Faults - the actual camera quality is quite poor which is suprising considering its meant to be 8.1 megapixels. The K800i camera was actually better for clarity and ease of use. There is no front camera which completely negates the claim that it is a video call phone as there is only 1 camera on the back. The charger/headphone jack being on the side is annoying as its quite difficult to get your hands round to use when its plugged in.
Although the Sat Nav compatibility is handy (recommend Amaze GPS which is free to download) I feel like there are too few improvements from K800i.
Little improvements like more calender options, a small front camera for video calls (the K800i already had that) and there is something else missing but I cant quite put my finger on it.
Perhaps I expected more after having my K800i for 2 years then changing to this. In 2 years I would have expected a little more technology or the phone to have moved on slightly more rather than just the gimmick of a big megapixel to sell it.
I think next time (on a 24 month contract with this phone so no time soon) I will get a proper smart phone that I can have nearly full internet access on.
This is good for checking emails, weather, news, ebay etc but next time I want something where I can wander round most areas of the web.
I was straight in there when the C905 was released
I am a huge fan of Sony Ericsson mobile phone's, infact my last 3 mobiles have been Sony's, so I was straight in there when the C905 was released.
Overall this is a nice handset, although there are a few things that did not impress. One major thing was the camera, boasting a whopping 8 megapixels! I am far from impressed with the pictures so far, whether I have a faulty handset or not, the camera seems to give skin a yellowy appearance, not majorly but enough to make you look a little ill.
The other let down is the lack of a secondary camera, making video calling an issue! Apart from this I really like the phone. The design is good, with a nice sleek feel to it unlike some sliding phones I have seen.
amazing features and an absolutely huge memory capacity
I absolutely love this phone!! it is so user friendly, looks stylish and sleek - you couldn't have asked for a better colour combination - black and silver!! This phone has amazing features and an absolutely huge memory capacity, this phone can take a 8gb memory card without any troubles. Worth every penny!

the longer I have it the more I love it
When I first got the Sony Ericsson C905 I was not convinced but the longer I have it the more I love it!
I would say its more of a camera than a phone. The 8.1 cam really is amazing, I love the thought of being able to pop my phone out for a snap and still get such a good quatlity photo, I could go on about the camera but the sound quality is also fantastic.
Along with all the apps that all work fantastically! A very good phone I would recommend it to anyone!
prices are too expensive to have the extras
Good phone, looks good, the only downfall is to use all the extras such as GPS the price rises alot therefore making it an expensive phone. I love the phone and its design but next time I think I will go for a cheaper phone just because prices are too expensive to have the extras.
this has got to be the best one so far
I've been a Sony Ericsson user for years and I have enjoyed them all but this has got to be the best one so far and will take alot to beat the c905.
The quality of the pictures are just great for a mobile phone so theres no need for me to take an extra camera with me when I go out and the mp3 player is just so great, I have loads of music so I'm never stuck with the same old tracks playing over and over which is down to the memory, its just a all round phone thanks Sony Ericsson, you will have too pull out all the stops to beat the C905.

find I am taking more photos now as it's so easy to use
Having had a Sony mobile phone previously, I was keen to get another as I find the setup very user friendly and well planned. The camera's 8.1 mega pixel camera is very good, and I find I am taking more photos now as it's so easy to use.
The memory stick that came with the phone has a slot in the side for your memory card, enabling a quick transfer of photos. The predictive text is very good and seems to have a bigger vocabulary than my previous Samsung. It also remembers and stores new words that you "spell", and predictive phone numbers appear if you manually type a number in.
My only negative point with this phone is that it takes a bit more effort to text as the buttons are flat and need more pressure!
I don't use this phone to it's full capacity, there's so much more to it, but hopefully this brief review is useful to someone who like me, just uses their phone for phonecalls, text messages and photos.
Oh, and I keep this phone in one of my baby's old socks to protect the beautiful big screen!
The camera and video are both astonishing
In short, this is an excellent phone. The camera and video are both astonishing, with photos in particular looking clear and crisp even when blown up to A4 size.
The C905 also comes with Wi-Fi which comes in very handy for browsing. There are a number of both fun and useful applications, including both GPS and A-GPS built-in and a trial sat nav programme. It has the usual user-friendly interface of every Sony Ericsson model I've had, plus options to alter it which I haven't come across before.
The only possible niggle I've come across is the keypad, which may come across as difficult to use. However, speaking as someone with considerable nail length, I manage just fine.
The design of the C905, though chunky, gives a real camera feel and on a personal level I prefer that to models such as the C902, which feels comparatively flimsy.
All in all, I'd highly recommend this phone to anyone looking to upgrade a Sony Ericsson, or who wants a fun, reliable phone with a cracking camera.
Best Sony Ericsson cyber-shot phone yet undoubtably
Great phone with amazing camara. Not only is it 8.1 megapixels, but the cover does not keep sliding off in the pocket, like other cyber-shot phones have in the past. It is easy to use, very stylish and has a nice screen size too. Best Sony Ericsson cyber-shot phone yet undoubtably!! Overall, great phone.

the Xenon flash is so much better than just a light
I was talked in to having this phone from a salesman. When it arrived I thought, OK, much bigger and heavier than I thought it would be - but lets give it a go!
The slide front is smooth and quite solid. The camera is brilliant, the Xenon flash is so much better than just a light. The zoom is very good too, although you do need an extremely steady hand and the response to actually take the picture can be rather slow.
Good sound for music from the handset, although not a Walkman phone it does everything that old my old Walkman phone did! Nice sized clear screen with all the usual fun stuff through the menus.
Overall quite a cool phone.. Shame I'm on my 2nd C905 in just 2 months due to the speaker breaking down, which appears to be a common fault!!
excellent photos and easy to use camera
Great camera phone 8mp, excellent photos and easy to use camera, its also very easy to transfer to your computer. Its not as small as the C902 but better quality. Has radio on the phone which you can have on loud speaker which is quite handy for me when out walking or even at work.
it is better than my £300.00 Cybershot camera
I love my new phone, the camera especially, it is better than my £300.00 Cybershot camera, purchased a year ago. Good features, good sound. love the radio conextion. Overall brilliant phone. You won't be disappointed if you purchase or upgrade to the C905.

was incredibly pleased with it...I was clearly mistaken
I had my phone end of Nov 08 and was incredibly pleased with it, thought it was the best I'd ever had, looked great, was a little chunkier than those slim fiddly models and the camera is fab.
I was clearly mistaken.. the original phone turned out to be faulty so it was exchanged, the replacement one had parts missing and so was repaired, it came back only to reveal another fault and so was REPLACED again. Within 2 weeks of receiving the most recent handset the buttons started becoming loose and one fell off. It was about this time I lost all patience.
A friend of mine also has their C905 in for repair at the moment and I have been informed there have been numerous complaints received about this handset from my network provider. It is now being exchanged!!!!!! Although the phone spec seemed pretty good and it looked great, it's not very well made at all.
its just like a digtal camera if not better
a really really nice looking phone, enjoy the games you get with it, the camera is very good its just like a digtal camera if not better, the memory is great can hold so much, I use the internet a lot for example Facebook and its so quick, the mp3 player rocks too.
fantastic 8.1 mega pixels and has a flash, very quick and easy to use
I've had the new C905 for a few months now and so far no major problems. The camera is a fantastic 8.1 mega pixels and has a flash, very quick and easy to use. I don't use many of the other features but everything is well made and fairly easy to navigate. The only slight fault is that the speakerphone is a bit crackly, not much to moan about.

you will never need a seperate camera as long as you have this
Sony Ericsson has always produced good camera phones but the C905 outdoes them all. The 8, yes, 8 megapixel camera is absolutely awesome, you will never need a seperate camera as long as you have this phone on you. The phone is quite large, but well worth it for the camera alone!
I would not hesitate to recommend this phone
A very robust phone and very smart looking. Love the flip design and this feels more sturdy than the Samsung's I have had before. Camera is very good quality and very easy to use, again much easier than phones I have had previously. I would not hesitate to recommend this phone.
Very nice solid phone, I would recommend anyone to check it out
This is a great phone and coupled with the 8.0 megapixel camera, it is a cracking package. Only fault I would mention is the photos can sometimes take a while to load from the gallery, but its a very minor problem. Very nice solid phone, I would recommend anyone to check it out.

exceptional, but have had a couple issues that have tainted my review
I have had my Sony Ericsson C905 on contract with Orange for the past 6 weeks and unfortunately I am already on my third replacement handset.
The first C905 arrived with a faulty camera slider cover. The replacement lasted me just three weeks before the ear speaker gave up working. The one I now have seems fine so far,(fingers crossed).
I do have mixed reservations with this phone because on the one hand the concept of this model is virtually in a class all of it's own, it competes with just about anything in the present market and make no mistake it is a very high spec camera phone, infact it does just about everything it's designed to do with complete ease and exceptional high quality.
On the other hand there are just a few points where I feel Sony Ericsson has let us down ie, the built in phone's media player is quite useless, you have little or no control over the media player whilst using a WiFi connection, infact the player will not even function whilst connected through WiFi which is a real shame if you want to stream video or live TV from the BBC iplayer site which is now supposed to be compatible with the C905.
Even more impossible is streaming video on the mobile YouTube site whilst using a WIFI connection. I have tried to find out if there will be any firmware updates in the near future to fix these issues, but I'm drawwing a blank on this one.
Final conclusion, would I recommend this phone?, well yes I guess I would, apart from the problems I have spoken about, the C905 is a real nice piece of kit, although now I am beginning to wish that perhaps I'd waited until my contract was due to end instead of upgrading three months early.
I think I would probably go now for the Nokia N96 which I understand works fine on the BBC iplayer using the WiFi connection.
no need to carry my digital camera around with me now
Overall this is a great phone, easy to use and packed with features. The camera produces good quality photos, I have no need to carry my digital camera around with me now. Only issue I have with it is that you need to slide up and down the phone to lock the keypad and my with first handset the down navigation key went stiff but this was easily replaced with my second handset which I've had no probs with.
Earpiece fault, apparently common
Having had this phone for three weeks it has now got a common fault like many other c905 users. The earpiece does not work, having looked online it is a very common fault with the phone and all Sony do is a software update which for me didnt fix the fault, I have tried, unsure if this is a harware or software issue.

an enormous 8.1 megapixels - better than on my digital camera
I have just had the pleasure of being shown this new phone. All I can say is WOW! The camera is fantastic and an enormous 8.1 megapixels - better than on my digital camera.
The best part is the GPS (sat nav). You can use it if you are walking as well as driving - superb! I was so impressed I am desperate to get one. Only one slight problem is that it is quite chunky. But, this I can live with due to the phone being brilliant.
Brilliant phone, especially if you take a lot of photos
Just upgraded to this phone, principally for the camera and it doesn't disappoint. The picture quality is fantastic, and the functions are similar to most mid-range cameras, with details such as best-pic and the face finder.
The phone itself uses the standard Sony menu system which is still a dream to use, although the buttons take a bit of getting used to after having a V630i for so long.
Brilliant phone, especially if you take a lot of photos.
With this phone Sony have fixed the flaws in its predecessor
With this phone Sony have fixed the flaws in its predecessor. The menus are well designed and everything is easy to access. The phone is also packed with features and cool improvements that as an office worker I find really useful and easy.
It does feel like a bit of a brick as its slightly larger than its predecessor, and I did find better alternative versions of standard software (different browser and sat nav) that functioned better. I also love the scratch-proof screen, which is larger.

am happy, but still a little dubious over durability
I got this as a replacement for my K810i and I must admit that at first I wasn't overly impressed. It seems flimsy in comparison, when I removed the battery cover it felt more like the lid of a plastic margerine tub.
I have grown to like it more due to it's features but I wouldn't like to drop it the way I used to drop the K810i. My phone is on Orange and I'm sure Orange maps is great, however, I cant confirm this as when you try and access it you get a message saying it will be available in a few days. I would rather have the google maps facility than be tied into Orange so be careful who you get it through.
Despite all this it's a good phone, great camera, by far the best I've tried in low light conditions and the lens cover is far superior to previous cybershot mobiles. The installed games were all very limited demo's, not vital but fun, perhaps due to Orange again?
Only boasts 2Gig storage but a nifty little card to USB converter comes supplied allowing you to pop your memory card into a small device that plugs straight into your USB port.
Sound is good and the onboard speaker is actually bearable to listen to as long as you dont go for full volume. Overall I am happy, but still a little dubious over durability.
I zoomed onto my own van on my own street
Just got this on Orange, superb design, keypad a little tacky, but slider nice and smooth. Fantastic internet speeds, scrolls through pages very quickly.
Try downloading google maps for free and trying the satellite view. I zoomed onto my own van on my own street, the camera is amazing, but unless you need to print out your pics, not much different to the c902's 5mp. Video also pretty special.
If your in two minds about this phone/camera, my advice would be to forget the credit crunch and splurge.
