Looks fab, lightweight and stacks of features
Looks fab, lightweight and stacks of features, only downside can be the touchscreen which can be tempremental accessing things not requested and occasionally messages/missed call notifications are missed because of this.
I have the pink version which is really girly and have loaded stacks of music and pics onto this to utilise all the extra's on it and overall its a fab phone.
fairly happy with the phone but it takes some getting used to
Overall I'm fairly happy with the phone but it takes some getting used to. The touchpad is quite sensitive, even if you turn the sensitivity down but using the internet on the phone is great. I particularly like the ease of changing the page size to suit what you're browsing, its also really quick.
The main drawback to the phone is the exceptionally poor battery life. It doesn't even get close to the stated standby time and I find I need to charge it every day. Using the phone for calls is good with decent volume and call quality. As I said overall a decent phone.
Touchscreen can be too sensitive
I like the phone, but sometimes I find it hard to use with the touchscreen, even if I change the sensitivity of the touch pad, sometimes it will send a text when I have pressed the side arrow to get to the end of a text, the battery life isnt that great, and it will sometimes only last half a day, this is the worst Samsung I have had.
Battery seems to run down much quicker than my old little Samsung
Nice chunky feeling slide phone, though large sceen and shiny back will scratch. Small touch screen below main screen makes phone vibrate when key "pressed" - turn it down or off - default setting is off putting.
Battery seems to run down much quicker than my old little Samsung - probably because of two LCDs plus vibrate on touch pad. Standard features, small memory for music (just takes two CDs worth of MP3 - though there is slot for expansion). Radio tunes poor - but its a phone and typical Samsung, good and cheap.
the screen is prone to breaking if man handled
This is a nice light phone, easy to use, very sleek in design, the only downside is the screen is prone to breaking if man handled, a very delicate phone and not at all hardwearing, not the best phone for use by teenagers or any one who mis handles their phone. but ideal for someone who is careful.
very slim and easy to use and well worth the money
This is a great phone with loads of features, the camera is excellent. You can choose from silver, black or pink, I have pink which is not bright pink but a lovely light pink. This phone is very slim and easy to use and well worth the money. I would highly recomended this phone.
phone is ok and looks nice but not very user friendly
Not the easiest phone to use for sending a text, I find it very long winded and frustrating. The touchscreen isn't that easy to get on with either. It is easy to press and send messages etc by accident for even the smallest of hands. It does take good pictures and video's which I like alot. Overall the phone is ok and looks nice but not very user friendly.
this mobile phone do almost anything except get you coffee
First things first, I am a 34 year old woman, not a techie by any stretch of the imagination. I was due for an upgrade on Orange and was initially disapointed by the lack of choice on offer. I did some research on the net and although it had mixed reviews opted for the black Samsung Soul as it was the latest phone available in stock.
I can tell you now I have not been disapointed one bit, the negative reviews must have come from people who just hadn't tried to change any settings since they took it out the box.
If you do go into the settings you can make this mobile phone do almost anything except get you coffee when you wake and make the bed when you get up.
Lots of reviews complain the alerts are too quiet, change it in settings then. Some say the little touchy bit is too sensitive, again go to settings. I even read one saying that when you close the slide it stops your txt being sent or stops your call, again something you can resolve in settings.
What I'm trying to get across is this is a great phone, you can make it perform almost anyway way you want just dont expect it to do what you want until you tell it what to do. Mess around and get what you want from it and you will be delighted by what it can do.
a nice sleek design phone would recommend to anyone
Nice phone, bit hard to use at the start, the touchscreen can be annoying. It has a great camera, pictures are really clear. I have not found any games on this phone, would be interested to know if there is any?! All in all a nice sleek design phone would recommend to anyone.
camera on it is great quality, would really recommend this phone
The phone is really good. The screen on mine is cracked but it was my fault because I trapped it in the car door when it fell out of my pocket. I love the styling of the phone and the applications are almost great. It's not a brick in the slightest which is always a bonus. The camera on it is great quality, would really recommend this phone.
Love the touch-sensitive navigation and how you can change the colour of it
Very good phone and stylish. Love the touch-sensitive navigation keypad and how you can change the colour of it. Takes a excellent picture with its 5.0 megapixel camera. The only bad thing I have to say about the phone is the ringtone volume does need to be louder. Missed a few calls, thats not always a bad thing though.
these weaknesses do not detract from the enjoyment of the phone
I got the Samsung U900 Soul mobile phone in early July. I have been in the main very happy with it. One feature I particularly like is the light on the video function which can double as a torch, a very handy little add on.
I also like the fact the buttons are covered up, for those of us who have accidentally made silent calls to the first people in our list when we've knocked our phones this is a great feature. In the address book for each contact it is possible to store several different numbers which is I find very handy when some people I know have several different numbers.
The Samsung Soul stores music files and has the option for a small secure digital card. On the downside the Samsung Soul touch screen is too sensitive, open a message and press what it feels is too hard then you will end up sending a blank message.
The Samsung Soul also appears to have limited call screening and diverting ability, it is possible to block numbers but does not appear possible to restrict which numbers call you.
Overall though I would say these weaknesses do not detract from the enjoyment of the phone.
design is lovely, very attractive, the functions are easy to use
I really like this phone. At first I didnt know whether to get it, as I had read alot of bad reviews, now i'm glad I did.
Good points, the design is lovely, very attractive, the functions are easy to use. The phone feels sturdy and has a nice weight.
Bad points, just one, the ring volume is very quiet but I'm sure there is some way of increasing it, I havent found it yet though.
Overall I think this phone is a good buy.
quite difficult to use if you have large hands
The phone is a nice sleek design, very light in weight. It is quite difficult to use if you have large hands as you cannot help but hit every key.
The phones speaker is also not very loud, I would not recommend this phone, it is quite pricey if not on a contract.
definitely lives up to expectations
Ok, so here are the plus points, the phone is sleek, light and funky. The battery power is really good, you can talk for ages and the phone won't die on you.
The camera is amazing, the picture quality is really good, definitely lives up to expectations.
On the down side, the texting takes a little longer, but as with everything new it just takes a little getting used to.
had this phone for 3 months now and I love it
I've had this phone for 3 months now and I love it, it's stylish and easy to use and the magic touch is really cool, the magic touch buttons vibrate when you touch them.
The camera has 5.0 megapixels and the photos are really good. I like the fact it has a large screen, an excellent phone.
Not sure if this phone lives up to its very advertised reputation
A lot of hype about this phone, in general its ok but some of the features could do with tweeking. If you use T9 dictionary when writing texts and the word you want is not recognised, when you type in the word and click 'add' it doesn't save it in your dictionary. Another problem when writing texts is finding the symbols you want, the number 1 button is very restricted on the usable symbols.
If you use speaker phone, when making a call you cannot activate speaker until the other person has answered and when you are on speaker phone the sound quality is very poor, maybe its because I'm used to Nokia's, previously owning an N95 I thought the U900 Soul would be a reasonable upgrade but in my eyes I think its a step back.
Limited memory for texts having to delete to receive.,
the camera is good and video not bad either. Earpiece volume very quiet if in a semi noisey environment and screen not good in bright conditions.
Design, look and feel of the phone is very good, but we have all begun to expect that from Samsung. Not sure if this phone lives up to its very advertised reputation.
Main features you expect from Samsung with improved customisation
This phone is easy to use and has the main features of all the Samsung models. The improvement with this model is that it allows you to use your own sounds as text message tones and ringtones, which has been my issue with other Samsung models as this feature has not been avaliable on the text message tones. Easy to use and the camera quality is excellent.
Delighted with the overall look and features
Having just recently received this mobile phone, I was delighted with the overall look and features, the menus/icons are all very similar to my previous Samsung so it didnt take to long to get onto the way of using it, only thing missing is a game or two.
The only downside to it is trying to figure out how to change the tones for messages. It took me 3 weeks and a lot of googling to figure it out, Ringtones are fine, just the same as any other phone.
For anyone getting this mobile the following will come in handy, to change the text tone, Menu; Settings; Phone Profiles; click on options; Edit accross to messages and the rest is straightforward.
The camera is brilliant, the design of the phone is fab
A lovely little phone, the only problem I have with it is sometimes it can be a bit slow, but aren't all Samsung's? another pointer, sometimes the touchscreen menu thing can be a bit difficult to navigate.
The camera is brilliant, the design of the phone is fab but I do think it's more suited to a girl, it's very easy to use. I'd recommend it!
The touch panels can be very sensitive at times
I rate the U900 Soul design highly, but I find that the touch panels can be very sensitive at times, especially when sending an text, occasionally I have sent people a few blank text messages due to being a bit too quick with the touch panel. Overall I still prefer it to my previous phone.
Can be slow to take the actual picture but quality results
Very stylish mobile phone 5.0 megapixel camera, slow to take the actual picture but quality results. Magic touch display not bad for a guy with big hands. Call volume should be louder, battery life very good. All in all no complaints but music player not a good as it should be.
Weighs next to nothing and is wonderfully slimline
The Soul from Samsung is so easy to use and has some excellent features. The camera takes good photos and has loads of memory to store files. It weighs next to nothing and is wonderfully slimline so that you can pop it in your pocket and barely notice it there.
Camera picture is brilliant with 5.0 megapixels
I have my Samsung U900 Soul on T-Mobile pay monthly contract, it is a great phone, I am well pleased with it, but then again I am always pleased with Samsung phones. The reason being that the battery life is so much better (lasts longer than most phones). The camera picture is brilliant with 5.0 megapixels meaning I dont have to carry a camera. The Internet on the Samsung U900 Soul is really fast, I pick up all my emails up on the move.
Highly recommended phone, I have no complaints
The U900 from Samsung is very a good mobile phone and all the features are good, the phone is very simple to use and has very few difficulties. The mobile phone is very durable and would take a lot to break, it is by me a highly recommended phone, I have no complaints.
Very pleased, best Samsung to date
Had the Samsung U900 Soul for a week now, very user friendly to navigate, very impressed, it has a great camera and it is a good quality music phone. The Magic touch interface is very neat though it does take a little getting used to, everything supplied in the box, data cable, cd rom etc very pleased best Samsung to date.
