a bargain touchscreen mobile

Samsung S5230 is also known as the Tocco Lite, It is has a great quality feel to it and doesnt feel too plasticy.

The built in 3.2MP camera to take pictures/videos although its not the best camera out there it still can get some great quality pictures from it. I found the touch screen to be very easy to use and has a great response when touched.

A full battery will get you through the day possibly even if your a heavy mobile user. This is a 2g mobile so lacks 3g internet but don't let this put you off as a option too speed up page loading times simply download the Opera Mini browser which is free. This is Samsungs competitor to the LG Cookie and I would say that it is well worth it if you are looking for a bargain touchscreen mobile.

This mobile is slim and compact

This phone is great for all the usual texting and making calls, however this would be made easier if a pen tool was provided as the touch screen keys are quite small.

The side panel is a great feature where you can save all the things you use most, calculator, texts, alarm clock etc for quick and easy access.

Quality of sound, video and pictures is very good and they are easy to use. This mobile is slim and compact so does not take up much room and has several security features. Overall it is a great mobile for the price.

screen is constantly freezing or going 'blank'

I got my Samsung Tocco Lite as a birthday present and I loved it. A week later without dropping it or damaging it at all the screen is constantly freezing or going 'blank'. Which means I then have to turn the phone off, take the battery out and put it back in again.

This is very annoying when you are in the middle of texting or on the internet. It could just be my model and it would be great to know if anyone else has the same problem. Other than that it is a great phone and I have no problems with it. I would recommend it.

Has a decent touch screen

Just recently brought the Tocco Lite, it took a bit of time to get used to but overall very impressed.

Has a decent touch screen, the sound is good and the front screen is great as you have 3 different screens you can switch from and you can make your own designs which is easy to do.

Camera takes reasonable pictures. All other gadgets on the phone ie: bluetooth hands free, calendar, calculator etc: are very impressive.

The only down side to the phone was software problems for Windows 7, the disc is good I had to search the internet for a download that worked.

A decent phone for people that want something that is easy to use.

It's touch pad is very sensitive

This is a brilliant phone to use - especially for those of you (like me!) who like to keep in touch via online media, i.e. facebook, etc. It's touch pad is very sensitive and allows your own touch to be configured to it. It has got various features like the widget where you can access any of your regularly used functions. Very happy with my purchase!

camera is great and gaming is fun

I absolutely love the Samsung Tocco lite, its easy to use, looks good, camera is great and gaming is fun. What more could you ask for! My Samsung is in girly pink which I like.

The Tocco is also very tolerant to being chucked on the floor! Im one of the most clumsiest girls ever and this phone does not blink an eyelid when it is being chucked around. Overall, smashing phone.

The quality of the music player is good

The phone has some excellent features. I particularly like the ability to text using a qwerty keyboard if preferred. The quality of the music player is good and navigating around the different menus is not too difficult.

A stylus included might have been useful and scrolling is sometimes annoying as the display 'flies' up/down too quickly. Also like the facility to match photographs with the phone book. The photographs taken by the camera are acceptable if taken outside in normal light. Haven't taken any inside in poor lighting conditions but for a camera integrated into a phone it has some useful features.

After I purchased mine my husband then replaced his broken phone with a Tocco Lite also as he was impressed.

There are a lot of quirky features which I enjoy

I find the phone easy to use and the calibration has stayed perfect unlike some phones I've heard, its an easy thing to go faulty.

The fake call is a brilliant feature and also the smart unlock. It has pretty good inbuilt memory and the camera is of good quality.

There are a lot of quirky features which I enjoy.
Overall a good phone which I'm very impressed with!

Calling and sound quality are great

This phone is absolutely great. I believe that they should charge more for this phone... but who would not buy this for £99 or less? Great phone, you would not get tired of it, battery life is fine. Calling and sound quality are great. Camera okay, rest all good. Definite buy!

Great camera and video camera

This is a really great phone. I thought it would be hard getting used to the touch screen but after a few days I felt like an expert at it. Great camera and video camera, you can browse the internet. Also can play music on it which is great as it can be used as an mp3 player if you buy a bigger memory sd card. Would recommend to a friend!

really needs to be developed a little more like an iPhone

Tocco Lite itself is great to use but really needs to be developed a little more like an iPhone and have more internal memory. The slimline features are also very appealing but there is no external slot for a memory card - you have to take the back off the phone.

Great phone, easy to use when you get used to the touch screen.

Great phone, easy to use when you get used to the touch screen. If you turn it sideways you get a full qwerty keyboard to text with. A bit fiddly when you are listening to voicemail and have to use the keypad to access features.

My only criticism is that the screen gets easily damaged. I have a large scratch on mine from having a key in the same pocket, would advise fitting a screen protector as soon as you get it. Overall great value for money.

When you get the hang of this phone it isn't to bad, very hard at first and would not recommend to a new phone user. It is lightweight but the battery life is not to good. I have the pink one and it has never scratched like some others I have had in the past. If it is a first mobile or someone who doesn't know much about mobiles I would not recommend.

The touch screen is responsive and the interface intuative.

The Samsung Tocco Lite is a fashionable, stylish mobile phone that is perfectly suited to today's younger generation of style conscious users.

The touch screen is responsive and the interface intuative. The software is very similar to many of the other touch screen phones and it is easy to navigate your way around the phones features. The software enables the user to set up customised screens with short cuts and tool bars to simplify your daily activities.

The music player is very good, both through headphones and using the external speaker, and is again as good as any phone on the market today. The ability to add a micro SD means that there is planty of storage space for enough music to keep you going all week.

The camera takes good quality pictures. The screen size is also really well suited to sharing photo's of your adventures with your friends.

Overall a really good stylish and modern mobile.

the touch feature sometimes doesn't want to work!

It's a great phone with everything you need on it. It does (or mine does) however come with a black flap at the front which can be rather annoying. Is a downfall, along with the fact the touch feature sometimes doesn't want to work! Overall though it's a practical phone that stores and does what you want. I'm a Samsung loyal.

I think that this phone is pretty good for a touch screen

I think that this phone is pretty good for a touch screen. I have had a LG touch screen and I found it difficult to navigate round the menus. The design is cool, its not too big or too small, its just the right size. The features dont appeal to me that much because all I want a phone for is to make and receive calls and the occasional text message.

I love this phone because it is stylish and alot of my friends have it too

I got this phone as an early present for my birthday last year in july. Im getting a new one tomorrow. And I think I am really going to miss it. I love this phone because it is stylish and alot of my friends have it too.

Another good thing about it is, I am very clumsy and loose alot of things but if I loose this or it gets stolen, it has a tracker on it so if someone else puts their sim card into it, the phone automatically sends a message to my mum and nana with a code on it so we can track down where it is.

Also, if you are in an unwanted meeting or find yourself talking with someone you dont want to, you can activate a fake call so that your phone will ring its self and you can pretend that your needed at home or somewhere.

The only bad thing about it is, ive had to get a second model because the first one I had for about 3 weeks, and if I had a call, I would try and answer it and it would take 5 seconds to answer so it meant I was missing alot of calls.

Sometimes when I try and unlock it by the little lock on the actual screen, it wont do anything. But other than that it has been the best phone I have had and I would recommend it to anyone.

no stylus makes this phone hard to use

The Samsung Tocco lite looks good and sounds good, but however in reality this phone lacks usability and is quite tricky to navigate at times. The fact that there is no stylus makes this phone hard to use and its features are not much better than your average phone. In my opinion it looks the part but is not the choice of a serious gadget user.

I have learnt to strongly dislike touch screen phones

The reason I chose this phone in the first place was because of how stylish, slick and smart it looked. I still think that, but in terms of use, I have learnt to strongly dislike touch screen phones. I always seem to click on buttons I dont want to by accident, that may be my fault but im stubborn so i'll blame the phone. Another bad feature is the vibrations of the phone, even when the vibration is on the maximum, I still cant even feel it in my pocket!

This phone is quite easy to use and really stylish. There are only a few bad things about it, which includes the wallpaper being very difficult to set up, as it spreads over 3 different screens. Secondly, texting is sometimes hard because I tend to slip onto buttons which change the language, in which case I end up very confused. Overall, this phone is good and quick to understand.

Took a little while to get used to the touch screen but now love it

I just love this phone. I am only an occasional user of mobile phones and this is the first touch screen phone I have owned. Took a little while to get used to the touch screen but now love it.

I am really impressed by the battery life, I never turn it off and I only have to charge the phone once a week, hundred times better than my last phone where I was charging it 2 to 3 times a week.

Excellent camera, again took a bit of getting used to, only fault with it is that it does not have a flash, but the software compensates a bit towards that problem.

Would recommend this phone to anyone who is not into geeky phones and overall a good usable daily phone.

certainly got everything I could possibly imagine from a mobile phone

My husband bought me this phone for Christmas having asked the advice of his 18 year old niece, oh dear! it is more like a computer than a phone. It's got so many functions that I really didn't know where to start. I'm not convinced that I'll use 90% of them although I particularly like the FM radio option, as I can now listen in the office!

It's a bit fiddly to navigate as it often scrolls from the top to the bottom completely missing out the middle section (which is invariably what I want!)

However, I live in hope that it's more operator error than anything else and once I get more used to it, I'll be able to control it a bit better, it's certainly got everything I could possibly imagine wanting from a mobile phone, plus loads more.

the text size on received texts is enormous

I sometimes find the phone difficult to use but my main problem is that the text size on received texts is enormous, I only see 4 or 5 words at a time. I have been back to carphone warehouse and they cannot rectify the problem and a succession of friends have also tried to reset the text size. It did not have this fault originally, I like the phone and want to give it a better recommendation, any help?

For those, like me, who are new to touch screen phones I think that this one is a great one. I love the ability to turn my phone round when I'm writing a text message and be able to use a Qwerty keyboard rather than the traditional phone keyboard - it's got to be the end of predictive text! It has a decent camera facility. Altogether a great phone to have.

There's no "back" button for when you're texting

I've had many Samsung phones, most of which have been brilliant but this one is not one of the ones I'm really impressed with.

The design is excellent, slim, light and comfortable to hold. With regards to using it, it's actually more difficult than any other phone I've had. There's no "back" button for when you're texting so if you make a mistake you have to basically start again.

The screen is nice and bright but being a touchscreen it's very sensitive and unless you touch the item you want exactly in the middle then you end up opening another application. The side menu is very annoying and some of the items that appear on it are un-removable so you're not able to totally personalise it.

the way forward in simple but effective technology

Right hear we have a smart little phone with a good few gadgets on it plus some available for download. I used to be a Sony Ericsson type of person but after their last few failed attempts at a touchscreen phone and after having nothing but trouble with their phones and their tendency to freeze or self destruct I gave this phone a shot and I am quite impressed at what it has to offer.

It has a 3.2 mega pixel camera, nothing flashy I know but it will do, it has tilt control on it so turn it on its side whilst texting and it will turn into a keyboard on the screen, quite handy if you have to text quickly, there again are quite a few good applications for this phone just like the ones on the iPhone from a spirit level application to a dictionary application, its got pretty much every thing you would expect.

I also like the set up of the phone as its easy to use and you dont need a rocket scientist to figure it out it, its quite simple to use and it helps if you travel alot as I do as it is quadband so can be used worldwide so again if your after a simple and effective touch screen phone I'd say this would win it hands down. Forget the iPhone or any other touch screen this phone is the way forward in simple but effective technology

liked this phone when I first got it

I liked this phone when I first got it, however, I've had it less than 3 months on Orange and its gone faulty.

The touchscreen has messed up, it doesnt register when you touch it, so I'm stuck with a phone, that because of the touch screen I cant use because its faulty and doesnt work, and sending it away will make me lose everything off it, my contacts, photos, messages, videos everything thats worth something to me on there.

I am very annoyed/disappointed, I now dont think any touch screen phone is a good idea, as when the touch screen breaks, thats it, its gone, broken. and you have to have it sent anyway for repairs therefore losing everything on it.

Normal phones, youve always got the buttons, so if its faulty you can at least get everything off there before you send it off.

have no complaints about it really

It took a while for me to get used to the touch screen, particularly when txting, and it is more difficult to txt whilst on the move, but now that I am used to it its a brilliant phone.

It takes good pictures, the sound quality is good, its light and very durable, I have dropped it so many times and cringed expecting it to have smashed and although it is now a bit scratched it has stood the test of time.

The battery lasts for a good length of time and it is easy to navigate around, although I am used to Samsungs and struggle to use other makes of phones that I am not used to so I might be bias there. I use it to check my facebook and mainly to call and txt, and I have no complaints about it really.

impressive features, easy to use and good choice for low internet user

Let me start with the good points, to me this is a great little phone for the money, the touch screen is very responsive and easy to use and the menus and sub menus are very easy to navigate, it may take a little time to get used to like any phone when you first use it but after a while you will soon be flying around with ease.

It has a side bar that slides in and out of view when you need it with lots of great widgets to use, you can just drag them on and off your desktop screen and use them when needed, you also have three desktop screens to choose from, accessing each one with a swipe of your finger just like the Apple iPhone.

The phone has many of the usual features like calendar, memo, tasks, world clock, calculator converter, voice recorder, timer, stop watch, FM radio, Organiser, media player and much more.

The connections are Bluetooth v2.1, WAP 2.0 / XHTML, Quad band, GPRS, Java, MMS and E-mail, this phone does not have wireless.

There are only a few niggles I have with this phone really and they are when you write a reminder in your calendar you are restricted to the amount of text you can type in.

Also it would have been nice to have wireless with the phone. You don't get a stylus with the phone where most other touch screen phones have one that sits within the phone, and it doesn't come with a memory card so you have to buy one before you save too much stuff to the phone, but both items are cheap enough to get.

And a tip with this phone is you have a photo contacts as well as a phonebook which you can use your finger to scroll through but only the photos of the people who you have called or you have received a call from will show, yet they show all the time in the phone book.

Most people will say this mobile is great but not good for the internet but if you are like me and rarely use you phone for internet only from time to time then this is the phone for you and at a good price.

It's not an iPhone but I give this phone thumbs up 4 out of 5.

Very easy to use, large screen, light and compact, with a lot of features eg radio, various games mp3 player etc. All that you would see in a more expensive phone.

The qwerty keyboard makes writing e-mails a lot quicker, for me anyway. Only bad point I have found so far is that there is no flash. Camera is still good though at 3.2 megapixels. Memory can be expanded by use of additional card. Overall a good, simple, easy to use compact mobile phone.

looks good, is slim but also one that is exceptional value for what it can do

Having just bought this phone I am very impressed with it, and can see why it is very popular. The interface is neat and easy to use, and the touch screen is very accurate. The widgets on the screen take a few days to get used to, but moving things about so you have Facebook etc one click away when you turn your phone on is a good time-saving measure.

I find using the keypad on its side very fiddly (when it's like a qwerty keyboard) and using it like a normal phone to text is much easier. The phone is very good value for money at around £79.99, so much so that I bought it on pay as you go but also bought a pay monthly sim for it.

I would definitely recommend this phone for anyone who wants a mobile with a good array of features including a decent camera (3.2MP, reasonably sharp), a phone that looks good and is slim but also one that is exceptional value for what it can do.

This phone is comfortable and easy to use. The touch screen feature is very good. The sales rep in Carphone Warehouse did tell me that it did not have character recognition due to it not having a stylus. But it does - you use your finger to write the characters. NO lost or damaged stylus.

The battery life is far better than I expected only needing to charge up every 2-3 days. Only thing I miss is WLAN access. Overall this phone is great value for money.

seem to have to go the long way round to do things

I bought this phone to replace my old Sony Ericsson phone. It is a very attractive phone but it isn't as easy to use (and I've been persevering with it for 4 weeks now). It doesn't seem to have sensible obvious functions and you seem to have to go the long way round to do things. It's not a bad phone though but I think I may go back to my old manufacturer in future, looks good though!!

normally hate touch screen phones but I got used to this one very quickly

The Samsung Tocco is a great little phone that comes with all the applications you could ever need. I had a little problem with texting on it when I first recieved it, as it is a touch screen and they are a little bit more tricky.

I normally hate touch screen phones but I got used to this one very quickly and became attached to it! It has a great camera on it (5MP). It seems to be a very reliable phone, I have had Samsung phones for years and haven't had any problems with them and this is another top piece of equipment. I recommend to anyone!

once I have mastered will be the best phone I ever had

I have had this phone for just over a week and I have to say it takes some getting use to. I had a K810i before and the Samsung makes it look like a brick with buttons but it was easy to navigate.

The camera is 8.0 meg and the quality is fantastic. The operating system is not that easy to get the hang of but when I do get to grips with it I am sure I'm going to love it more. It does have limited ringtones only 20 and they are all horrible. The dice feature is fun found in games. I bought a crystal case for it to protect it which I would recommend.

Having the keypad as well as the touch screen is such a good idea. The contacts are the only thing I take issue with. When you open it up it just gives you a name but no number, I have three seperate numbers for my brother so I have to open up all one after the other to find the right one. I could put them all in the same contact but they were uploaded from my old sim card and I never had a problem with it on the old phone.

In all a quality phone that once I have mastered will be the best phone I ever had.
