Samsung S5600 Reviews

The Samsung S5600 is a stylish touch screen 3G handset. It's screen is 2.8 inches in size which is easy to use so that you can access the wide range of features. The S5600 comes with a built in FM radio with RDS and a music player. There is also a 3 megapixel camera with flash, auto focus and smile detection, GPS, video record, USB, Bluetooth and much more.
the response of the touch screen is quite slow
I have found this phone quite limited in features. It looks good, with a nice clear and detailed touch screen, however the response of the touch screen is quite slow, and can be very annoying when wanting to send a quick text!
However, it is good for people with larger thumbs who don't find the iphone easy, as the space allocated when touching is quite large. Applications are limited for this phone, especially if you are not on a plan with unlimited internet as most applications use the internet, so can be quite costly without the internet, or on pay as you go.
Overall, it is an average phone, probably for the younger generations as it is limited on features, but quite a fun phone for those younger.
I am thoroughly enjoying using my new phone
I just got this phone yesterday and so far I'm addicted to it, I keep finding little things which just make me love it even more.
Its a bit tricky at first using the sms messaging, especially with the T9 and space bar being so close together however I am finding that I am thoroughly enjoying using my new phone.
Getting the keytones off was a bit frustrating and being unable to set my own wallpaper without it being distorted is also annoying but to have this phone I think it's worthwhile.
some awkardness when accessing messaging and trying to use the keypad
I was bought this phone as a present. Having never used a touchscreen phone before but it doesn't take long to get used to it. Sometimes it gets frustrating when you need to use the keypad option to check voicemail and it for whatever reason takes on a mind of its own.
The 3g internet is ok and brings up pages reasonably quickly, I've not had a problems using that application. The radio is fine but would have been helpful if it could be used without the need for headphones.
The camera and video app is great and it came with all that's needed to download onto a pc which is great. The standard of photo is great although you have to shrink it to be able to use it as wallpaper.
The games that are pre loaded on the phone are naff.
Overall I've given it a three due to some awkardness when accessing messaging and trying to use the keypad.
took a little while to get used to the touchscreen but now I love it
I've had this phone for 3 weeks now and I'm so pleased with it. It's really easy to use and the battery life is fab. It took a little while to get used to the touchscreen but now I love it.
The only thing I would suggest is that it maybe needs a stylus for the smaller print when browsing the web but that's about it.
setting in the organizer which allows the user to create multiple alarms
Easy to use with built in features including camera and camcorder. My favourite feature on this model is the alarm setting in the organizer which allows the user to create multiple alarms (necessary in my case as I am useless in the mornings and have to set 5). Extremely loud ringtones (adjustable) make his model ideal for taking calls in a loud environment.
The battery life is much better than expected
I like this phone it's very similar to the Samsung Armani, the only thing which disappointed me was the selection of games on the phone as its not very good for wasting time on if your bored.
The battery life is much better than expected and the widget at the side makes everything very easy access. I especially like the "top 5" feature making it easy to call/text the people you contact the most without having to go through your contacts, all in all a good buy.
am quite surprised how easy the touch screen is
Got this phone yesterday for myself and my husband. I the white and he the black version - both look very smart. Our phones were both wrecked when he fell in the river with both in his pocket and we didn't have a lot of time to go and sort new ones. We had a bit of a look and I researched the ones we liked online.
I actually was looking at the Tocco and Tocco Lite but there were issues with both. When I went in yesterday to sort our phones out, I spotted this one which seemed the better option (except for the camera on the Tocco - but I do wonder whether it would be that much better anyway!)
Initially we found it a bit difficult to get used to the touchscreen as have not used them before. My OH is a dinosaur when it comes to phones though is improving since he had his Sony Ericsson 910i, but as I went through my phone I did wonder that it was a mistake for him.
The manual was a bit too concise and I found looking up on the net was more useful.
Just had it 24 hours (several of those on charge!) and am quite surprised how easy the touch screen is. It's very efficient and very simple to use - there were a couple of things as I say that the manual didn't clear up but sorted those as I said, with a google search!
One was turning down the keypad tones. The manual didn't explain very well - though it does make sense once you know! I thought it would ruin the phone as it's a bit annoying beeping with every touch. But when the phone is in standby you lower the volume key on the side and a volume circle comes up on screen for you to adjust with your finger. I decided to turn it right off but you can just turn it down.
Have loaded photos on for my phonebook and taken some music off my laptop for ringtones for my main tone and also assigned different ones for family. Was really easy using the cd which came with the phone.
Having read many articles online, I was pleasantly surprised how good it is. I think it helps to spend a fair bit of time trying things out as you very quickly get the hang of the touchscreen whereas for the first few attempts I was a bit rubbish!!
Camera isn't too bad. My G600 had a 5 mega pixel phone and can't say those photos were that impressive. I really think if you want super pictures you need a separate camera. I have just a 3 mega pixel camera about 6 years old and it is in another league to my G600 camera. The 5600 camera is good enough for the odd snap, Have practised a bit with my dogs and got quite good pics of them! All seems pretty good on a £15 per month contract.
My husband has texted today to say he is really pleased with his too! So I would recommend
serves my needs very well, and I can fully recommend it
Design, a very similar looking phone to the Tocco Lite, with practically has exact same dimensions. A nice looking phone, with a large enough touch screen, three buttons on the front (call, menu/back, end call), and three on the sides (volume/zoom, hold, camera).
Features, its similar to the Tocco Lite. The 3.2MP camera is very good for everyday photos, but if a camera on a phone is a major selling point for you , you'll probably need to look elsewhere. Other features include GPS, MP3 player (including 3.5mm headphone socket), FM radio and internal memory of 80MB, with a MicroSD memory card slot capable of holding up to an extra 16GB. One feature it does have over the Tocco Lite is 3G, which to be honest is pretty much expected of phones these days.
Usability, Samsung's interfaces on recent phones are fantastic. The touch screen is very responsive for a resistive screen, and texting and general browsing through the phone's menu is simple and trouble-free.
Overall, I bought this phone a month ago, so have had plenty of daily usage with it. It serves my needs very well, and I can fully recommend it if you have no need for wi-fi, as that seems to be the only feature this fantastic phone is missing. All in all, great value for money.
