I think its way over rated except the camera
I recently bought a pixon, I think its way over rated except the camera (which is in my opinion its only selling point). With no WiFi, its lacking in appeal and the menus and functions are boring, for the fact that you can't change the theme only the wall paper on the main screen.
The games are only trials, you have to buy them to play properly and the widgets are kind of pointless considering most of the main features have specially made function buttons to take you straight to the apps. Camera great! phone not so good!
Camera is good giving you clear pictures
Overall, a good phone. Touchscreen degree can be adjusted. Downfall to this phone is its New PC Studio programme. You can't transfer text messages that are EMS, i.e. text messages that have more than 150 characters. Samsung doesn't appear to want to resolve this, so users can't save long text messages by transferring them out of the phone.
Camera is good giving you clear pictures. Although the shutter speed of taking a photo is quite slow so user may be left holding down the button for a while.
The camera is amazing!
I was quite dubious about getting a touch screen as this is my first touch screen so I didnt want to pay a lot for a phone such as an iphone, just incase I cannot use it.
Then I found out about the Samsung Pixon, initially I wanted it for the 8 megapixel camera, but then I thought it would be good to see if I can use a touch screen ok.
The phone arrived and is so easy to use, definitely the best phone I have ever had. The camera is amazing! The touch screen side of it is amazing, extremely easy to use.
The only down side to this phone for me is having your emails linked to your phone, purely because I have a hotmail account and you cannot enable it with such an account. I had to open a Gmail account and have to forward my emails.
Apart from the email thing, I have no bad comments to say in regards to this phone and would recommend to anyone.
you dont need a camera alongside this
Love this phone, the camera is amazing and takes the best pictures, and the extra features make it even better with fast sports mode and low light mode, I have got some great sunsets aswell as shots of the children playing, you dont need a camera alongside this, its perfect for days out and at home too.
The touch screen does get a bit of getting used to, but when you do its great, especially when you want to scroll through your pictures to show your latest master shot.

The only thing I dont like about it is the keylock
I was a bit worried when I bought this phone as I had never had a touchscreen before but never had a problem with it. The camera is fab on it and unlike other phones I have had in the past it has never froze on me.
The only thing I dont like about it is the keylock on the side of the phone as I always catch it. Would recommend this phone and will be staying with Samsung in the future.
sleek design, easy touch screen to use and good battery life
Excellent phone, sleek design, easy touch screen to use and good battery life. Excellent reception on T-Mobile and not had one problem so far with it. Lovely fun phone to use with great speakers for any music lovers out there, certainly would recommend.
internet access is good
Email doesnt automatically alert me to new emails, the stylus should be attached to the phone in some way, I have lost a couple already. The camera is of good quality, the touch screen is easy to use, the battery lasts a fair amount of time and the internet access is good.

the camera quality and memory on the phone is great
To start with I was really happy with this phone, however the screen scratched very easily, it often unlocks in my pocket and I wish I had not bought a touchscreen now. However on a positive note, the camera quality and memory on the phone is great.
really outstanding pictures and videos
The phone itself is well built. Quite a sleek design. The features and connectivities are very good as well. The camera resolution of 8.1 Mpixel gives really outstanding pictures and videos. Well built in speakers. Overall it is a good phone. The downside of it is the battery life. It uses a lot of the battery power, and so have to recharge the phone at least once every 2 days depending on usage.
8meg camera and the video camera's impressive as well
Takes some getting used to inputting text, it was simpler on my Sony Ericsson but I've found ways around it. The camera is really good - 8meg and the video camera's impressive as well. It's easy to email files/write emails and the access to the internet is brilliant. Reception is better than any phone I've had before.

lack of wifi on the handset which is a huge blow
First of all this is not a smartphone, it looks and interacts like one but is not smart in anyway. The problem with this phone has to be the lack of wifi on the handset which is a huge blow to to otherwise good phone.
Word of warning the phone will wreak the battery, either your charging from the external block or phone for anything over 6 hours so not ideal for those who like to charge their phones overnight.
Ok onto the phone, the camera is great also the interaction between systems such as phone and camera. The geotagging option on the phone is nice but not really necessary but for those who like to travel it is good for grouping up pictures.
In all this is a good phone if you want a phone which has smart phone interaction but do not need the smartphone applications.
Consider the Pixon 12 if you want this phone with wifi
the phonebook is so difficult to scroll
I thought this sleek feature packed mobile was the biz, but the phonebook is so difficult to scroll to the name of the person you want to find, the screen switches from a landscape style to portrait at will and most annoying is even when you lock the keypad and put it in your pocked you can hear the phone making all sorts of noises at the most inappropriate times.
Most irritating of all is the screen lock
Overall a smart piece of kit, but has many irritating faults. Most irritating of all is the screen lock which is too easy to cancel if you should for example slip your phone into your pocket. Also when browsing the web the screen images are too small

Really enjoy using this phone
Really enjoy using this phone, it is simple to use and easy to understand, it has good features and good play back. I find the internet on it quick ad reliable and am all together very happy with it.
The phone although being touch screen seems to be quite hard wearing I have a 5 year old and he has been on the games and music several times and dropped it and it is still working fine. I think the menus are easily navigated and the help section on it is especially useful
nice easy to use stylish phone with a good camera
This is a very good phone. I have found it really easy to use and the camera on it is excellent, producing really good quality photos for a mobile phone. The touch screen is also nice and big making it easy to use and it has some great features. All in all I would say this is a nice easy to use stylish phone with a good camera.
Buying a bigger memory card is beneficial
Overall I found this phone was really good. The battery does not last very long when using features but when you do use them they are second to none.
Buying a bigger memory card is beneficial if you listen to a lot of music but the sound quality is good. The touch screen is very sensitive compared to the Tocco but much easier to use but like many say the unlockbutton is a bit too sensitive although I have found that with a durable case on it is not as bad.
I only have one real fault and that is the camera now freezes on a black screen with the camera logo in white. I have tried reseting the phone but that has not worked. Its annoying as it was working perfectly then just stopped one day when I went to use it?
All the reviews I have read have not had this problem yet but I would be grateful if anyone could help me with this?

The virtual keyboard is also a brilliant addition
The Samsung Pixon is a phone I have been more than happy with for capturing both pictures and videos. The 8 megapixel camera has many different features that are great for professional snaps or just for fun.
The menus and are easy to use and the touch screen makes life easier when guiding through the phone. I use the audio playback to listen to music which is brilliant and saves me carrying around an extra gadget such as a mp3 player. The virtual keyboard is also a brilliant addition that saves time whilst writing texts.
can download widgets in order to get easy access to things
The Samsung Pixon has a very easy to use touch screen, its just right, you can download widgets in order to get easy access to things such as google, yahoo and even yellow pages. I do think the widgets are mainly designed for other countries rather than UK though and think Samsung need to come up with more UK based ones. There is one called watch TV, which I would love to be UK based.
I do photography in my spare time and find that the camera on the pixon is brilliant if i just want to snap something quickly and dont have my normal camera to hand.
The only thing i find is that the battery life on it could be better, it only seems to last me a few hours but then again i am a huge user of the phone im hardly off it. if you are like me i would reccomend a manufacturer more known for its battery life like the sony erricson range
Overall the pixon has some good features the internet access is quite good, i think that this phone would be brillinat if it had wifi capabilities too and a better batterly life
If you are looking for a phone that fits easily intop a bag then dont choose this one it is a little bulkier than most with it being a tablet screen
The phone comes with a stylus which i lost within the first week but the touch screen works fine with fingers
don't need to worry about taking an extra camera with me
I love the look of this phone and the camera is better than my digital camera so it means I don't need to worry about taking an extra camera with me. I found the text messaging hard to get used to as it is touch screen and I am used to a smaller phone, overall a decent phone though.

great features, easy to use, with excellent screen interaction
Best mobile I've ever had, great features, easy to use, with excellent screen interaction, not only with the stylus but with your finger too. Also found a great thing on the phone, when writing a text message turn the phone on its side and you have a qwerty keyboard, fantastic idea if you are no good with predictive text.
the Pixon is a camera that makes calls
As usual with Samsung phones battery life is a little disapointing but the features more than make up for an issue long associated with sammys. More to the point the Pixon is a camera that makes calls. The 8mp takes outstanding quality photos and video and easily downloaded. I found the 1g card supplied was a bit on the mean side as mp3 and video soo wipe out spare memory.
Overall though the Pixon is a top rate camera, mp3 and organiser and once you get used to touch screen is a delight to use.
Good but not perfect - great photos, poor video filming
Apart from the Pixon unlocking itself and accessing things in your pocket its not a bad phone.
Camera is really why I bought it, and although not as rapid as I'd like when taking a photo, a really good image is provided!
The movie option however, lets it down.
The microphone is useless at recording anything but human voice, leaving you with some brilliant pictures but very poor audio.
I tried to use the phone to film a live band, and all I got was crackling.
Aside from this, the touchscreen is really responsive, and with the option of phone keypad or qwerty, texting is very simple.
A good, but not perfect phone, and a good alternative to the iphone.

Lovely camera phone with advanced features
The Samsung Pixon is a lovely phone!! Very practical and easy to use.
Fairly advanced with several features I've yet to work out! Love the touch screen with the qwerty keyboard and optional predictive text.
The camera on this phone is amazing with very good zoom option. Taken loads of pics and the memory on the phone is capable of storing loads.
Mine came wih a 1GB memory card too. What a buy!!!
If I dont use the stylus its very hard to text
If I dont use the stylus its very hard to text using the touch screen and sometimes lags, so when you look at what you have written it doesnt make sense. Overall a good phone with great camera and slim so can easily fit in pocket. Would be better if it had wifi connection
very responsive yet durable touchscreen
A great handset with very responsive yet durable touchscreen. Stacked with features and excellent online options including google maps. Landscape querty keyboard option is brilliant for texting and surfing. Option of large memory card addition means plenty of songs can be carried too.
Niggles are that you cant have charger and headphones both running as they share a socket, and backlit screen can be hard to see in sunlight. Would recommend for touchscren fans who need a solid durable handset.

lovely looking phone with plenty of features
A lovely looking phone with plenty of features, only problem with it is it is easy to catch the lock/ unlock key when it is in your pocket. Overall, I feel that the phone is well worth it and I recommend it to anyone who has a technical mind and is wanting to keep up with the latest trends.
the transition of the menu and listings are fluid
I love this phone. The quality of the camera is amazing and the sharpness is excellent as I like taking pictures wherever I go.
The motion and the transition of the menu and listings are fluid. The keyboard was confusing at first but it's easy once you get the hang of it. This phone is great for pictures, music, well anything multimedia really.. I would definitely recommend this phone to anyone/everyone.
The vibration when you push the screen is nice
I like the Samsung Pixon, my first touch screen phone, the camera is great quality but doesnt react quick enough to get instant snaps when you want/need them. The feel of the phone is quality and the vibration when you push the screen is nice. Shame it doesnt come with larger memory but 1gb was ok for now

Impressed with its 8 megapixel camera
Impressed with its 8 megapixel camera which is easy to use. The sound quality of its music player is well above average but wish the playlist was a bit more user friendly to organise.
Not fond of its background and the side menu which can easily be activated by mistake. The web browser is awful to get around (Tmobile network speed makes it even worse). You will need the handsfree as it gets quite hot if you use it against your ear.
Overall, it's a phone designed to be packed with lots of features and easy to use but it's simply not good enough to compete with the iPhone.
This phone is pretty impressive
This phone is pretty impressive. I found it straight forward and easy to use, it also looks very stylish. Takes a little while to get used to texting with the touch sensitive app. One thing I noticed very early on is that when the phone is 3g enabled the battery life dies rapidly, but after swtiching this off the battery life was significant for repeated use throughout the day.
Overall a great phone, easy to use and amazing camera
I have had this phone now for over a month and at first a touch screen takes a little bit of getting used to but once you have mastered it - well it is amazing.
An 8 mp camera and a cable and software to upload photos it seems better and easier than some digital camera's. I would say that the software it comes with to load music and photos from the pc could be a little simpler, it took me so long to get used to this that I almost gave up but the results are good.
The phone itself is very stylish my only complaint is that it is a little wide, it would be a massive contender to the iPhone if you could download other applications to it, but saying that it has plenty on it to amuse you.
My only other bug bear with Samsung phones is that they only give you trials of games to play and so you have to pay to download games. Overall a great phone, easy to use and amazing camera, well done Samsung once again for another fantastic phone.

Fantastic camera with fantastic features including panoramic pictures
Excellent upgrade to the Tocco. Fantastic camera with fantastic features including panoramic pictures, and the qwerty keyboard is a massive improvement. One drawback however is that the touch screen on the Pixon is not as responsive as that of the Tocco in my opinion.
wasnt really sure what to expect, but have been very impressed
I was offered the phone as an upgrade when I tried to leave my provider to get a contract on the iPhone, and wasnt really sure what to expect. I have been very impressed by the phone. It has loads of very good features - internet, 8 mp camera, gps, and is all very easy to use. Would definitely recommend it.
great phone from Samsung. I've never had a touch screen before
Another great phone from Samsung. I've never had a touch screen before, but I think this phone is very easy to use. It's light and very stylish, I always get compliments when I have it out. It also has a great 8meg camera! Better than my actual camera
I love this phone.

Turns out to be the best phone yet for me
I got this phone last week on contract, and I wasnt too sure about it. It is my first touch phone, and in the past I have had some dodgy touch screen/button phones, but I thought I would give it a go.
Turns out to be the best phone yet for me, amazing camera (8mp), touch screen works like a dream, and the things on it that I didnt even know from other reviews!
This phone features:
*live pix (my fav)- the ability to draw on the screen, with different colour and thickness brushes, you can chuck photos onto the screen and edit them on this thing, animate up to 5 of the things you have drawn, add stamps onto it, its good fun.
*Camera - so many options and modes such as sepia, b&w, watercolour and also ones like portrait, twilight, party mode, etc, has a xenon flash, 8 mega-pixels and makes the pics look amazing, even in the dark, shame everyone is wincing from the brightness of the flash!
*Screen lock - just a button on the side, which if pressed means everything on the phone can be got into if anything touches the touch screen, so that can be a bit of a bugger at times.
*Widgets - not as good as I expected, a few to choose from, but you cant change the size, and if u want a pic for your background, just having the profiles widget takes up the whole screen! aahhh! good nifty little thing tho, easy access to wat you use the most. You can even take off the providers logo!
*3G and internet is really good on it, really clear and easy to use, easy to access favourites and history etc. also a widget for internet which is good
* QWERTY keyboard!! just turn the phone on its side, and its a good little keyboard, just a little over sensitive with the buttons sometimes, but really good generally.
*other things:
alarm
timer
stopwatch
world clock
3 different fonts for all the phones text
music section
really good photo browser
fm radio
bluetooth
games
memo
talk
calculator
and much more!
I have no problems using the touch screen
I really like this phone. I had to give it a 4 for design though. The phone unlocks very easy as the button is on the side of the phone. It doesnt take much to catch it in your pocket. Even though I have small hands it fits perfect and I have no problems using the touch screen. Other than that the phone is excellent.
There must be a setting to change this
It is really good other than I am having problems when I get messages. Even though the number is saved on my mobile it will come up with the number and not the name of who sent it. You have to edit the name and number and save it again. Then it will come up with who sent it. but if you turn off the mobile it will happen again.

Good phone but battery could be better
Got my phone two days ago and yeah it is good, but the battery is rubbish, I only get one day use of my phone then need to charge it again. Any other phone I had I got at least one week out of the battery and I use my phone all the time. Overall it is very easy to use and nice looking, a good phone to have if you get more than one day out of it!!
High quality throughout
This is a very cool smart phone. High quality throughout. Lots to learn and read but definitely not a phone I will get bored with.
The postives for this phone are its quality made, loads of features to keep you busy. Camera is fantastic at 8.0 megapixels, sound quality is very clear. Touch screen is smooth, text messaging is very clear, shake control etc, just a great great phone.
The only negatives I've found with mine are the battery, it goes down very quickly, and the stylus does not fit into the phone, it dangles which is quite annoying so I dont use mine anymore.
Samsung are on to a winner here
Really good looking phone, with so many features you can't list them all. Uses the touch screen technology used a lot these days, with a stylus that is easy to use, and the 8 mega pixel camera is truly wonderful.
Overall Samsung are on to a winner here and with contracts starting from about £25 a month lots of people will have one shortly.

from the moment I picked this one up I loved it
Fantastic phone, was given this when Tocco was out of stock and boy am I glad. Being a bit of a technophobe I wasnt sure on a touch screen to begin with but from the moment I picked this one up I loved it. Fantastic phone, easy to use, camera is brilliant and clear with lots of bits and pieces to use on it as well, worth the money.
nice phone and pretty straight forward to use, locking could be improved
The Pixon is a nice phone and pretty straight forward to use. My only concern with it is the locking mechanism on it, it really doesn't work that well so when you take the phone out of your pocket it often has changed the screen or connected to the internet. Apart from that an all round good phone but a little clunky/chunky in its appearance.
issues with the battery were easily sorted by turning down the vibration
Having owned the Samsung Pixon for over a month now, I am pleased by its design and its looks. I thought I would miss not having wi-fi, but found with an unlimited data plan I didn't really care.
The issues with the battery were easily sorted by turning down the vibration. Next up is the camera, which is the reason I bought it. It is really good during the day and not too bad at night, it could be better, or I could learn to take pictures with it.

so easy to use, and it was great value for money
I totally love this phone, it's so easy to use, and it was great value for money, There are a lot to choose from on the market, but this was far and away the best value, at time of purchase. The battery length is great, and it's just been really robust and has great style. top marks to Samsung.
Impressive, but texting could be more straightforward, jury is out.
Just got the phone yesterday and so far so good. Most internet reviews are accurate although 2 things frustrate me. When scrolling through the contacts/pics/menus it isn't always that great as it can be a bit slow, you keep selecting things when you are trying to whizz thru them so takes ages to locate the one you want. Its like the iPod touch or the iPhone in that you whizz your finger up the screen to scroll thru and it isn't always accurate.
Second when texting how on earth do you put a capital letter in the middle of the sentence? So if you wanted to say "My friend James" how do you get the capital J for James?? You can change to capitals, select the J then change back to lower case but then you have to type "ames" separately to the J so it wont save it as a word! So annoying! With my Samsung Soul you just hit the bottom left button to make the first letter of any word capital and the rest of the letters follow in lower case but don't know how to do this on the Pixon.
Apart from that I am a bit disappointed that the only customising you can do is changing your wallpaper. You can't have different themes or screen savers and you cant have the menus in list form instead of that grid form either which you could do with the Soul. You also get 1 alarm tone that you can't change and minimal options for built in message tones.
I have until Monday to decide if I want to keep it and I am 50:50 at the mo. Most peeps say I will get used to it but being a total girl I like being able to change the look of the phone.
On the up side the sound is amazing and the camera rocks like nothing else. The screen is nice and big and the widget thing is great. I can have peoples face come up when they ring which the Soul couldn't do and it isn't as chunky as I thought it might be.
Hmmmm jury is out. It isn't screaming at me but it isn't unliveable with. I would like the Samsung Innov8 if I decide against this one I think. Used to my big screen now and the Sony one is teeny.
