The Samsung Jet includes a 5.0 Megapixel camera complete with autofocus and LED flash, and will record high quality video at up to 30fps. GPS is included, as is support for high speed mobile broadband data transfer, plus WLAN support and Bluetooth 2.1 with A2DP functionality. The large touchscreen uses the latest in display technology, offering sharp, clear image presentation. The 5 megapixel camera delivers clear pictures
The Samsung Jet is slim and light, is the perfect size for any pocket and sits comfortably in the hand during use. The screen gives sharp, bright images whether I'm viewing pictures, videos or online content and switches seamlessly from portrait to landscape mode when turned on its side.
It has 3 interchangeable main screens, all of which are customisable with various widgets such as weather, time, social networking sites and music player which you can add and remove from the pull out tab on the side of the home screen.
It's touch screen gave me none of the problems of previous touch screen phones I've had and is quick and responsive to the touch without the need for persistent tapping.
The side button gives access to a bouncing cube full of media items which are easily accessed from running your thumb over the cube to twist and turn it to the item you want.
The 5 megapixel camera delivers clear pictures and the music player offers a good standard sound unlike other mobiles which can sound tinny. It is the best phone I've had for accessing the internet with quick access and surfing without the usual waiting for pages to load for ages.
Overall the Samsung Jet is a stylish, sleek mobile with a lot of capability and is very easy to use. Easily the best phone I've had to date and I'd highly recommend it to anyone.
simplicity and ease of use is great
I bought the Samsung Jet S8000 in December 2009. It arrived well packaged and the layout inside the box was very good.
I put the phone on charge for the first time and was very surprised that it took less than an hour to fully charge it. Having read through the instruction's I found it very easy to navigate through the phones menus and the simplicity and ease of use is great.
It comes with many features and pre-loded games. The choice of ring tones built in is very good and for the price I paid the Samsung Jet is excellent value.
I would strongly recommend this touch screen phone to anyone.
a brilliant fun handset with ample features for all!!
The Samsung Jet S8000 offers style, ease of use and tremendous amount of power.
As it contains an 800mhz processor which enables you to use the phone's main feature: its JET button. That big buttuon at the bottom of the front side of the handset. Press that baby and you can mutitask with every, yes every application on the phone, meaning, open up a java game, then suddenly get the urge to text, just press JET button and your zapped to the menu to do what you want.
Also the JET is fun settin up its '3' wall paper main screen system. Which lets you pin different widgets (shortcuts) to each of the 3 main display's. Overall a brilliant fun handset with ample features for all!! (many not named, like: GPS & DIVX Movies!)
The touchscreen is very easy to use
I believe my phone is very modern looking and stylish. The touchscreen is very easy to use and the internet is also quite speedy. I like using the gps on my phone when I am making journeys. The camera is of reasonable quality. Overall I am pleased with it.
the touch screen takes a lot of getting used to
Looks good but the touch screen takes a lot of getting used to and needs re orientating frequently. Claims to do more than it actually does. It is often very difficult to open text messages from the main screen and gets very frustrating. The music player is good and the software provided with it is easy to use.
I have to say its truly amazing
Having been the owner of the Nokia N95 beforehand this is my first touchscreen phone and I have to say its truly amazing. The usability is really simple to use. Its fully customizable with changing wallpapers ringtones etc. Its got built in GPS and 5mp camera too.
you can write a letter on the screen and it unlocks
The Samsung Jet is definitely a feature packed phone, and even now, after 4 months of ownership, I'm still finding little neat quirks with it. The screen is very clear, and I find works much better when you use it with a stylus pen on it. Operation is very quick as well.
Negative points, one very annoying issue is that you can't physically lock the screen. On other phones you may need to put in a code or a button press sequence.
The Jet does have a neat little thing where you can write a letter on the screen and it unlocks. But you can also unlock it by keeping the top right hand button pressed, which is really annoying when you have it in your pocket or in a bag. You're forever finding that you've accidently unlocked the screen and then the phone calls people randomly from you contacts list. Seems to be a common problem with other Jet users and there appears to be no way around it. Simple feature, but it really lets the phone down.
love this phone, it looks great and is easy to use
Really love this phone, it looks great and is easy to use. I`ve always had Sony Ericsson handsets, and was worried about changing, But really glad I did, the only thing I find hard is downloading music from the pc, its not as easy as my old handsets have been.
the colours are really bold and bright
This phone looks really attractive. The display on the screen is fantastic and the colours are really bold and bright. The phone is really easy to use and has all the usual features of a mobile phone. Texting is quite easy and making calls is very simple. The memory is also good on this phone.
looks the part, but lacks the depth of utilities
The Samsung Jet looks stylish and sleek. It has some good features, the camera is very good quality (5MP), and it comes with facebook, youtube, google, widgets.
However, there is no GPS with the phone, even though it was advertised with GPS. It has google maps thats it. There are no apps to download onto the phone as yet, even though the phone has been on sale for months.
Until Samsung sort out this problem and make apps available, similar to those available for the iPhone, until then this phone is pretty standard. To summarise, this phone looks the part, but lacks the depth of utilities that a phone of this price should have.
the camera is fantastic and the features on the phone are remarkable
I cannot express how much I love this phone! I really didn't want a touch screen phone but after being convinced by my hubby, I got the Samsung Jet! It is so easy to use, the camera is fantastic and the features on the phone are remarkable! Buy it!!
Great phone, light weight and like the widget feature
The Samsung Jet is a great phone, very easy to use and looks great. Very lightweight as well.
I like the widget feature at the side allowing you to have easy access to the features you use most frequently.
Only drawback is sometimes touchscreen is not as responsive as it could be but is still very good and I've had no problems.
