Samsung G600 Reviews

The Samsung G600 is an excellent 5 megapixel camera phone. The phone has a 2.2 inch display, a well defined keypad and TV out for viewing images and videos. Its main features include a FM Radio, music player, 5 megapixel Camera, video recording and a dual Bluetooth mode. The G600 is desirable due to its smooth finish & easy to access slide opening mechanism.
Its battery life is amazing, but has some bad points.
I got this phone because it looked cool and I wanted a slide. Its battery life is amazing, but has some bad points.
It has an 'energy saving' feature that means the screens backlight detects how bright or dark it is and adjusts as accordingly. It also means that while texting depending on if your head gets in the way of the light, the back light flickers, and is very annoying.
You cant set a text ring tone, only what the phone comes with are options. You can use any song for ring ringtones though. It's very top heavy when open, I need to use two hands to text on it.
It took me ages to understand where the photos go when you take them, although they are pretty good.
Overall: Its ok, but its not great. If you call a lot get this phone, if you text a lot, dont!
easy to navigate to all the applications and settings
This is a great basic phone, is easy to navigate to all the applications and settings. I have had slide phones in the past that are quite flimsy however the g600 is solid. Many basic phones can look cheap and nasty however with its metalic grey finish it looks great.
for what you pay it's value for money
I've had my phone for over a year and it still works perfectly well and has with stood multiple drops. The camera being one of the first 5mp could be better and faster, but for what you pay it's value for money. The phone doesn't have any major faults that cannot be fixed easily. I would definately recommend this phone. I've been using Samsung's for the past 4 phones and each time they have been great.
very good value for money
Got this phone as part of a Virgin offer of £8.50 per month contract, very good value for money, as I also enjoy free minutes and texts. The phone itself, is nice and sleek, like the design, features have enough, no less than what I actually need, overall it is a cool model.
cannot use any of your favourite music as ringtones
It's a fairly easy phone to use. I am not very good with technology, but this phone is excellent, and I am able to use it without any problems. Only hitch is I cannot get to ringtones, I have tried to change it many times without success. Another glitch is that you cannot use any of your favourite music as ringtones.
Overall it is a very smart and sophisticated phone
Excellent phone, easy to use, quick for texting. Has a memory card slot for extra memory and a 5mp camera if you love taking pictures like I do. Also, it has a very good music player. Overall it is a very smart and sophisticated phone. I would recommend this phone to whoever enjoys just picking the phone up and using it rather than spending time looking through the manual.
Very reliable and the money that I paid is worth it
I purchased 2 Samsung G600's for me and for my husband. This is a very good and sturdy phone. Very reliable and the money that I paid is worth it. It can save music, able to take clear pictures and videos as well. Its easy to use especially for the people who dont want a more complex phone.
I will see how long this one lasts
I got my first G600 in August 2008. I noticed that sometimes when I make a call it is showing on the phone that the call is made but neither party can hear each other.
Another weakness is that it takes a good many seconds for the call to go through, I cant be in a rush to make a call, it wont go through not until after several attempts. I called the mobile provider told them of the fault but no one seemed to have a clue what I was on about.
Anyhow the phone just hungup one day, I couldnt navigate nothing. Took it into the provider they said it was moisture in the phone, but how moisture got in there I never used it in the rain or dropped it in water. It was insured so they gave me another G600.
Now after using it about 3 months the same things are happening as with the first one. Even forgot to mention the bleeps you hear when on a call and there is no incoming call. Anyway I will see how long this one lasts.
very satisfied for this cheapish good quality phone
I got this phone on a £8.50 per month contract. I am really impressed, although this is my first proper phone so I do not know how it would compare to others. But for me, the battery life is sufficient, the mp3 player is good as is the camera.
I would have liked added features for bookmarking audio books but I don't think many people would need that, also, the way it orders your tracks on its play list is strange.
Texting can take a bit of time for it to actually be sent. The only thing that reduced its usability for me was its headphone adapter that has already broken after about 2 months. The sound only comes out of the right headphone now, even though the headphone itself works perfectly on other devices. And as the headphone adapter also holds the radio antennae, it means that I can't just buy a cheap replacement of eBay or whatever.
Also the fact that the biggest sd card that works with it is 2GB, it would have been good if it supported more like 8GB as I was planning to use it as my MP3 player as well as a phone.
Overall I am very satisfied for this cheapish good quality phone.
was due an upgrade but I opted to keep this one
At first I thought this phone was a little bulky but then I got use to it. This phone has lasted me so long, it has been dropped and scratched and it still works fantastically. I was due an upgrade but instead of getting a new phone I opted to keep this one and have a reduced bill for 18 months as I am not a fan of all the touch phones.
sturdy without being too large or heavy
Best phone I have had, very reliable and overall am I quite happy with this phone. It is sturdy without being too large or heavy. The keypad is easy to use and doesn't have a bottom lip that gets in the way like some other slide phones I looked at. Numbers are saved to both the card and the phone memory, they display twice in the contacts list; sending a text message to an email address is not straightforward to set up though.
really reliable and has never let me down
This phone is fantastic. It is really reliable and has never let me down. Texting is really simple and I love that you can use the phone as an MP3 player hence the memory capacity is really good.
The quality of the camera on the phone is ok but I have seen better. All in all I am really pleased with the model and happy to use it for some time to come
the screen tends to scratch easily if it is not covered
Great little phone with a 5.0 megapixel camera and slide action. Nice and light and comes in a variety of colours, the only drawback I have found at the moment is that the screen tends to scratch easily if it is not covered, other than that I think this is a great phone
I call my Samsung G600 my second brain
Well I have had my Samsung mobile phone now for over six months and it is very good. I use it for taking pictures and sending emails and sms. I also use the calender for storing things that I need todo. It is very good for reminding me of appointments that I need to keep, I call my Samsung G600 my second brain.
hard to use apostrophes when writing texts
It's hard to use apostrophes when writing texts - you have to go through a lot of menus to do so. The user manual is useless - I still don't know how to change the ringtones! The bottom of the slider isn't curved enough so it digs into your palm!! The camera quality is better on some 3.0 megapixel phones, good battery life though!
only real problem I have with it is the keypad occasionally sticks
Very good phone but for a couple of minor things. The only real problem I have with it is the keypad occasionally sticks. I've not got dainty wee fingers so sometimes my texts can be off but with the keyboard sticking makes it worse.
Also the headphones supplied in the box are poor - too short and cable too thick. Camera good, functions all decent but bluetooth not the best
the camera is superb, and the features are so easy to navigate
I have always had Samsung, I find the menus, simple and quick to use, but this by far is the best phone I have owned, the camera is superb, and the features are so easy to navigate around, making it quick and simple to, send a text or add a contact, I also like the fun skins and colours to personalise it, making it my own.
User friendly main menu and useful hot key options
Good, easy to use phone. User friendly main menu and useful hot key options. Connects to browser quickly and easily, connection is consistently good. The phone is virtually indestructable, mine has been chewed by the dog and dropped in the bath several times, but continues to work.
changing the camera settings is damn annoying
All in all an alright phone, not a bad phone but not a good phone this is mainly down to the features as they are all there but dont seem to show the kind of polish that it has had in older models. Access to the camera is fine but to change the settings is damn annoying and then the battery either gets low thus not allowing you to take the picture or if you leave you then have to change all the settings back again.
not impressed with the camera, but easy to use and battery life is very good
Its ok but its not very upto date, not impressed with the camera. However easy to use and battery life is very good. If you download tones for text messaging alert it can be a bit funny about which ones you can use. Is better than the previous one I had as it does not have a touch screen which just does what it wants to.
like the slide mechanism, would definitely get another Samsung phone
This is my first Samsung and overall I am quite pleased with it. The camera is a bit dodgy, in that the shutter speed is far too slow and if trying to shoot a moving subject, they are quite likely to have gone out of shot. I am also finding that its a faff sending texts compared to my old Motorola.
The incoming call volume level is also quite low so if the phone is in my handbag I never hear it despite having it on full volume and outdoor profile. I like the slide mechanism and the fact that its pink. The software is easy to use and its easy to downloads music and pictures onto. I would definitely get another Samsung phone.
I call it my second brain
I like my Samsung G600. It is very easy to use. I love having the calendar because it does not let me miss my appointments. I call it my second brain as it keeps me from forgetting things like when to take my medication etc I would not be without my Sammy G600
Overall this phone is a great slider
The thing I liked most about this phone was the camera. The photos and videos were good quality but I also liked the panoramic mode. The menus are simple to navigate and you'll easily get the hang it. The only thing I dislike about this phone is that scratches can show up clearly. Overall this phone is a great slider. I'd recommend it to anyone.
music could be louder when playing through the speakers
The phone was perfect up until it was 12 months old, then it started to play around, with messages not received all the time, and the phone then had to be restarted to recieve the messages. All features that are on the phone are of good quality, although the music could be louder when playing through the speakers
plenty of features on it without being overly complicated
I can honestly say, I'm not up with the latest trends, so all I wanted was an easy to use and reliable phone. Well, I've got it with this.
There are plenty of features on it without being overly complicated. The feel of the phone itself is really sturdy and strong. Its a slide phone but feels solid like it wouldnt smash if you dropped it.
The camera on the phone is really good. I have taken it to motor racing and on day trips and got some good snaps. Its not as good taking photos indoors but you really cant complain! It also has a video feature which is decent too.
I like the way that its so straightforward to use and everything is methodical and uncomplicated. I would recommend this phone without a shadow of a doubt, just because of how strong and easy to use it is.
very easy interface comparable with a Nokia range
This phone is my first slider. It is very easy to use because it has hot keys for some functions, like the 5 mega pixel camera which can be activated by pressing a button on the side. It can be used to access the web. It has a very easy interface comparable with a Nokia range.
hardwearing, easy to carry around, not to big or small
Really good phone, hardwearing, easy to carry around, not to big or small. Excellent picture quality as it has a 5.0 megapixel camera which I think is really good. I have had my phone for nearly a year and a half now, just upgraded my phone not got a new one just my contract as I didnt want to get rid of a good phone.
The camera is also excellent
I'm not that into mobiles or the latest fads, but I can honestly say, this phone is excellent. It is straight forward and easy to use, and everything is easily accessable through the menus.
The camera is also excellent and there are a few features on it too such as mosaic patterns and sepia effects. The phone feels really strong in comparison to other phones I have owned - I would definitely recommend this phone to others.
loads of effects you can do on the photos
I bought the G600 Belle (purple) colour, and its an awesome little phone. There are loads of effects you can do on the photos including flash, and multi shots which is great for getting that perfect picture! (you can even do a panaramic view)!.
The video is also as you would expect.. very good (only in the light though) the predictive text is also a BIG improvement on this handset too. very easy to use (compared to old Samsungs I have owned),
the computer software is also tons better, and is so much easier to take pics and videos on or off your phone now! A very nice good quality phone!
A lack of memory in the dictionary when texting is also a major headache
Excellent phone but let down by temperamental camera function ie takes good pictures one minute and very poor the next! Also, very slow so no good for an action picture. A lack of memory in the dictionary when texting is also a major headache. Very frustrating having to keep re-spelling words that it has forgotten!! other than these two problems I can't fault the phone. Easy to use and lasting well.
Easy to use, great camera, cheap price
This was my first Samsung after years of Nokia handsets but as a very untecky girl I find it really user friendly.
The camera being 5 MP was my main attraction as at the time of purchase most were only being offered with 2 -3 MP tops so this was a much better prospect.
The delay sometimes can be a little frustrating as you sometimes miss what you wanted when taking a picture but for the times when you only want a phone and to have to lug your digital camera around too its ideal.
I also like the fact that it charges fully really quickly - much quicker than my last phone - so much so that I keep losing the charger as It can be weeks before I have to recharge.
The menu and icons are really easy to use so much so that when I upgrade I shall give this to my mom and she's in her 60's and can use it with ease. All in all - easy to use - great camera and cheap and cheerful!
Good security features and extremely easy to follow
I love the security features that only samsung offer, I don't have to worry about my kids playing with my phone cause I know they cant make calls or texts.
It is light weight but not to small that you cant use the buttons properly and the whole menu and set is extremely easy to follow.
looking for an easy to use phone for simple use then this is the phone
The phone is basic for the standard of technology avaliable now. The phone has everything that you need though and is simple to use. The camera is fairly poor even though it is a 5.0 mp camera. The phone is bulky and fairly heavy in size and weight. However if you are looking for an easy to use phone for simple use then this is the phone for you!
sweet and simple with top features
Neat little phone, easy to use. Another all time favourite of mine yet again from Samsung. Camera takes fab pics so no need in having to carry a camera.
The slide feature makes it easy to disconnect calls etc plus you cant call from your pocket making large phone bills a thing of the past. All in all a lovely phone with great features suitable for all age types, sweet and simple with top features.
slim and lightweight, the purple colour looks really good
The phone is slim and lightweight, the purple colour looks really good. Being a Samsung user of mobile phones for years I found this simple and easy to use. I wish you could make the shortcuts even shorted to get directly into writing a text message like the old Samsung phone I had but this is the only downside for me.
I personally love the create a theme function
I have had this phone for at least 2 years now, and have never had any problems. It has a great design, with a huge screen and easy to use buttons, with a stylish mock wheel in the centre. The slide function is good and once again has never caused any issues for me.
This phone boasts a 5mp camera, which is good, but to be honest, if it didn't say on the top of the lens, you could easily mistake it for a regular 2mp phone camera. It is also annoying that it refuses to take a decent picture if anything is moving ever so slightly, which I found particularly annoying when trying to take pictures at a gig recently.
The memory is pretty rubbish unless you get a memory card, but the access to files is good. The music player is good quality too. The phone has features that are supposedly basic these days too, bluetooth, calender, timer, etc. All of these are simple to use and I can't find any fault. I personally love the create a theme function, where you can edit the colours of text and use a photo or a built-in pattern as the background when you move around your phone.
Overall - its pretty much a cool phone. I love it as much as ever, and so will you.
very reliable and has all the features you should ever need
The Samsaung G600 is one of my most favorite phones I have had. I have been with Samsung for many years now and this is another quality piece of equipment. It is very reliable and has all the features you should ever need. The camera works very well and takes very good pictures and it is a very easy phone to navigate and text on and it looks nice too!.. I don't have one bad thing to say about it! I'd recommend Samsung to anyone!
resonably priced and indestructable
I have had this phone for a few years. It is resonably priced and has all the features you could need - a 5.0 mega pixel camera, mp3, internet, bluetooth. I have also found it to be indestructable, having dropped it many times on tiled floors etc. It looks pretty good too.
It works well, the camera is quite good, memory lacking though
I have this phone, I love the way it looks, its lasted well with no faults yet and I havent managed to break it. I still sometimes press the wrong keys sometimes though. It works well, the camera is quite good, the lack of memory for storing messages is a let down compared to some other phones though. Its not a bad all round phone
music player is good but could be of a higher volume
This phone is very smart yet easy to use. The camera is very good quality. The music player is good but could be of a higher volume. It is a very stylish phone (very nice to look at ) and I really like the large screen as it is very easy to read the text. Overall very happy.
Durable and reliable - easy to use
A fantastic phone with plenty of features. I had this phone for 2years before I gave it to a family member to use.
The phone is still in excellent working order and the battery life is great.
A fairly advanced phone that beginners can use with all of the features easily found.
Very good camera phone
If you are looking for a good solid phone then the G600 is a great one! I have had mine for over a year now and everything still works fine. The camera is very good, with 5x zoom and these pictures come out great on the computer!
It is very easy to use and the menu is easy to navigate.
All in all a very good phone!!
nice big screen for a slider phone and feels great
Love the look of the phone, has a nice big screen for a slider phone and feels great in the hand, is a nice weight too.
Only a couple of small criticisms from me, I find it a pain that you cannot change the text message tone on the phone, I could on my previous Samsung U600. You only have the choice of the 4 tones which come with the phone, might not be important to some people but I do like to customise my phone!
The two buttons at the top, for selecting things or for going back, you seem to have to push them in quite hard for them to register. And finally, I have various ringtones, I can't seem to get them loud enough, not sure if it's because I have had them Bluetooth'd to me from various friends phones,
other than that, I love the phone.
had the original black one and then bought the purple one
I have now had two of these phones, had the original black one and then bought the purple one. I love it! Am due an upgrade on my contract but not sure what I will do as I love this phone so much.
Camera is OK, it is supposed to be 5 mega pixel but camera phones are never that brilliant at taking photos. It takes ok photos though. Screen is nice and bright.
Never had a problem with either of my phones, only bought the second one because the original one was covered in scratches after being caught in my bag with my keys!
Good phone, has a camera and holds music, never had a problem with it
Good phone, has a camera and holds music, never had a problem with it and have been using it for around a year now. It looks quite good and I'm glad I got the black one. The only problem is it has got a bit scratched over time and there is not a lot you can do about that, these replacement covers seem to cause problems when you have fitted them.
very good phone, very light and slim
The phone looks really stylish and is pretty easy to use. The keypad does lock itself which can be a pain sometimes when you're on the phone and the touch screen is very sensitive which has often led to me ringing people by accident! All in all though its a very good phone, very light and slim, so it fits nicely into a small handbag and the picture and sound are fantastic.
a lovely phone and I highly recommend it
This fantastic phone is easy to use. It has a beautiful design and opens easily through a simple slide upwards. It has many features and includes internet access, email, mms amongst many others. It is easy to use and has good battery strength. Overall this is a lovely phone and I highly recommend it.
easy to use, camera quality is good, hard wearing
The phone is really easy to use. The camera quality is good. I really like Samsung phones, they are easy to use and strong. I've dropped mine loads of times and its still working. I would definitely buy a Samsung again when I need a new phone, but go for a higher model.
doesn't have a record option, if it does I can't find it
The best thing about it is that it's pink!
Good camera but doesn't have a record option, if it does I can't find it. It would be better if it had more memory. It has a long life battery, I find good. It could be better if it had a louder speaker, so I can hear it ringing better.
sleek and stylish it looks, and this definitely fits the bill
This phone looks amazing. For me, that's one of the most important things, how sleek and stylish it looks, and this definitely fits the bill.
In terms of how easy it is to use, I normally like Nokia's because they are generally the easier to use, but I was pleasantly surprised, because I mastered this phone in a couple of hours.
The camera is 5 MP which is pretty amazing, equivelent to some digitial cameras even. The battery life is good, I haven't timed it, but it's never been less than a few days of continuous usage.
Very durable, I've dropped it countless times, and the only propblem caused is that the bluetooth is sometimes a little dodgy, but considering how I've treated it, I'd say I got off lightly!
If I had one complaint, it'd be that it has no torch light or something of that nature, which is weird as the older models did. It's not a big deal, but can get annoying at times. Would def. recommend.
only complaints are the black finish easily comes off
I have had the phone for 12 months and found it easy to use, it gives good talk time and standby.
My only complaints are the black finish easily comes off making the phone look a little scruffy and that Samsung have changed the connection very slightly which means older chargers and hands free devices don't fit.
comes with a small 512 mb memory card and a really good 5mp camera
I love this phone. The only negative thing I can say about it is the earphones don't stay in your ears, they keep falling out which can be annoying. Otherwise its easy to use, comes with a small 512 mb memory card and has a really good 5mp camera. Its great for those of us who hate touchscreen phones and need buttons.
Overall a functional phone which has served a good 12 month life span
I was a Nokia loyal fan for many years, upgrading my old phones to only the Nokia brand and wasn't easily persuaded to change to a Samsung. However the deal on the phone was lucrative and I hadn't been too impressed with my N75 so I opted to upgrade to the Samsung G600.
The G600 was, in comparasion to the N75, about the same width, height and weight, and it felt like it fit in to my pockets in the same way that the N75 did. I chose the black version of this phone though I was tempted, and wish in hindsight, to get the purple one.
The functions of this phone are easy to use, it's WAP enabled, has a relatively easy to use MP3 and radio function (although the signal for the radio isn't great) and has a 5MP camera.
The 5MP camera was one of the reasons I upgraded to a Samsung, though I have to say that the quality of the pictures don't feel like they were took by a 5MP camera. Sometime the focus is distorted and this leads to blurred edges, despite the settings being correct for the type of picture being taken.
The SMS/MMS functions are easy to use and I have set mine to easy access rather than having to go through the menu option.
Battery life was ok initially, but 12 months on, and as is to be expected, the battery life is becoming tired, and I have to charge it every 2 days or so, with an expected usage of perhaps 2-3 phonecalls per day and 10-20 text messages. Bluetooth has always drained the battery, even from the phone being new.
The clarity of the speaker phone leaves a lot to be desired, and though I can hear the caller reasonably well I am told that I sound like I am in a goldfish bowl or that I am a Dalek.
I reported this to Orange (my provider) who replaced the phone in the first few months, however this newer one does exactly the same thing???!!
A few games come as standard, and there are some nifty other functions, like multiple function lap time/ stop watch, converter in to many weights/currency etc and the easy to upload content for the PC.
Overall a functional phone which has served a good 12 month life span, great if you are on contract and will upgrade, but don't expect long calls towards the end of the 12 months as the battery is definately dying.....
Feels good in your hand, has an excellent camera and TFT screen
Although some Samsung phones have a reputation for being flimsy and for begineers or children, the G600 makes you realise that this isn't true for this handset. Feels good in your hand, has an excellent camera and TFT screen, large sized keys for easy texting and very sturdy - I dropped mine three times and no problems whatsoever! Very cheap on the PAYG market now, try and get the chrome one if you can.
good but I wouldnt say it was brilliant
The phone is good but I wouldnt say it was brilliant, could do with a bit more colour, I think the grey is a bit boring. The buttons keep getting stuck at the top so when you try press 2 often number 1 enters instead so its quite annoying when your trying to txt or your using touch.
found this phone to be quite heavy and chunky
I found this phone to be quite heavy and chunky and not ideal in a small handbag or a trouser pocket unless the pocket is big! If one of the perks of having a phone, is to have a variety of good ringtones and message alert tones, then this phone isnt right for them as it doesnt have many good ones. I found it quite difficult to access the internet aswell using this phone.
great camera, radio and plenty of room to store games, photo's and songs
This phone has a great camera, radio and plenty of room to store games, photo's and songs. The only problem with the phone is that if you are listening to the radio and you close the phone you have to turn the radio off to access the phone menu. Otherwise a great phone.
I will be choosing Samsung again
I have had this handset for over 10 months now and can honestly say it has and continues to be fantastic. Pre-purchase I had been concerned about the slide design of the phone as I have heard so many horror stories of other handsets breaking/becoming faulty, but have had absolutely no problems with this - even withstanding the number of times I have dropped it!
The quality is great, the picture is super and for ease of use it is highly recommended. If I had one development point it would be that the camera picture isn't the best I have used however, more than ample for basic photos. I will be choosing Samsung again!
its really easy to use, all clearly laid out
I thought this mobile is was very good, its really easy to use, all clearly laid out. The camera is good, but once you have got half your phones's memory full, the camera becomes slow, which results in blurry images. The battery is ok, will last me a few days without charging it. My contract is nearly up, so I will choose something more updated, but I would definitely have this phone again if it came down to it.
everything you need in a good mobile phone
This mobile is easily the best phone I have ever had, the camera is excellent as is everything else with it. It is smart, slick and stable, everything you need in a good mobile phone. I have never had any problems with the phone and I only have good things to say about it.
easy to navigate, the themes on the phone are vivd and modern
The Samsung G600 is an excellent choice of mobile as it was designed by a reliable manufacturer and is very easy to use. Menus are easy to navigate, the themes on the phone are vivd and modern (with an option to create your own theme) and the mp3 function of the phone comes in very handy.
Unfortunately it does frequently have trouble finding wap connection despite other phones on the same network managing fine, and at times it does have blackouts.
Altogether, the G600 is a sleek, stylish mobile but like all things it does have its faults.
Considering the phones retail price, it is a very poor handset
The appearance of the phone itself is good, it looks classy and smart, but its durability is poor. The camera has no protection, and therefore, easily gets scratched meaning that the quality of the pictures are very poor.
Also the battery life of the phone isn't too great, the phone needs to be on charge for a long duration in order to make a telephone call of an hour. As for the signal... an network operator informed me, after I purchased the phone, that it is one of the poorest phones for reception available.
I have had three faulty handsets, all of which had the same problem, they would not turn on despite the battery being fully charged, the problem was not with the battery as it was tested with another handset. The charger required for this phone is different to that of other handsets, meaning that a spare charger is rare to discover.
its best feature is the 5.0 megapixel camera with flash
I love the colour of this phone. It is a bright pink and stands out, so is easy to find at the bottom of my bag. It has a sleek, fit-in-your-pocket stylish shape which I love! It is easy to use and its best feature is the 5.0 megapixel camera with flash!
However, having said that, I did have problems with my phone in the first few months. The screen kept freezing and I was unable to make or recieve calls. I took it back to the shop several times where they sent it back to be repaired but the same thing kept happening. I have now had my phone for almost a year and it was last repaired 5 months ago. (touchwood!) it has been okay since.
picture inserts for texts not much choice and smileys not good
On the whole I am satisfied with this phone. However, sometimes the keys lock when texting and have to wait a while to be able to carry on with text message which is very frustrating. The ringtones are a little boring and the picture inserts for texts not much choice and smileys not good.
I dont think I'm going to be changing it anytime soon
I bought this phone a year ago, and I dont think I'm going to be changing it anytime soon. Does everything a phone should be doing, except its got a stunning 5.0 megapixel camera which wouldn't put a digital camera to shame.
The design is one that Samsung users will be accustomed to. The slide feature is a very attractive one, and the ease of using the buttons is a huge plus when using this phone. The features are endless, with the camera, organiser, games, mp3 player all used on a day to day basis by people like me. The phone is easy to use, and I give it a great 5*. Well done to Samsung for another outstanding phone
I wish I had upgraded to this phone ages ago
I love the phone, I have uploaded loads of music and photos to it and use it almost like an MP3 player. It's far better than my previous phone, you can use a picture linked to a number so when a caller rings you their picture appears. I wish I had upgraded to this phone ages ago.
excellent easy to use, functional phone with an excellent camera
An excellent easy to use, functional phone with an excellent camera. Sleek look with lots of extras, but still keeping the basics of 'it being a phone' simple. I really like this phone and would happily keep it. There is one down side in that you cannot record/download your own message alert or alarm tones. These small details make it a little less cool!
I find it hard to text fast as the keypad is so flat and the keys so close
I have had this phone for 1 year and have had no problems with it. It is easy and clear to use. It has been dropped a few times to and is still working. The only thing I find is that it is hard to text fast as the keypad is so flat and the keys so close, especially the top row to the screen, and no good one handed. Also if using the phone for a call the corner is very uncomfortable in your hand as its quite sharp.
videos could be a little better quality in darker places, same with photos
Wicked phone, videos could be a little better quality in darker places, same with photos actually. Love having an MP3 player and I dig the Samsung menus - really easy to use. Something I've also discovered is that, unlike other phones I've had, it seems to be able to take being dropped on the floor, which can innevitably happen at the best of times.
photographing a 2 year old can be difficult
Phone is simple to use great for a beginner. Bit simple if you like gadgets and stuff on your phone. Cameras not that good on it either...if you take a photo still comes out great but photographing a 2 year old can be difficult. Nice slimline design and smart little phone though.
a nice reliable phone easy enough for anyone to use
Its a pretty good phone - can be a bit slow to load the camera sometimes but that doesn't affect the overall use of the phone.
Both the camera and the screen are a good quality, the menu screen is clearly laid out and easy to use and the sound is nice - not as tinny as some phones can sound and the phone itself is light and slim. Generally, its a nice reliable phone easy enough for anyone to use!
looks good, but I'm not too keen on the camera
I like this phone as it is easy to use, and it looks good, but I'm not too keen on the camera. It is not as clear as I would have liked, and it takes too long to take a photo, I find I have to keep it still for a while after I have pressed the button.
the cat doesn't ring my sister in church when I've left it open
I was a bit wary of upgrading to this phone after previously having another Samsung that was very touch sensitive. No worries on this one, this isn't touch sensitive so the cat doesn't ring my sister in church when I've left it open. It looks very slick too and the screen for the photos is amazing. I'm very happy with this phone.
Unfortunately the Samsung G600 is now a little wobbly
My Samsung has worked well over the last couple of months, some previous phones I have had could be termed "indestructable". Unfortunately the Samsung G600 is now a little wobbly when the phone is slid open. I believe the connection between the two moving parts of the phone is damaged. Other than that the features are good, there are no games (which isn't a problem) and the camera is pretty good (just a little slow). Samsung phones are extremely user friendly and look good too.
the cpu had burnt itself out and the cost would be £45
When I first bought this phone it worked well then after about a month the battery started to become hot when I was charging it, then the battery stayed hot every time I used it, finally it packed up.
I took it to the repair shop to be told the cpu had burnt itself out and the cost would be £45. I had it repaired and ever since the phone never seems to operate properly.
the G600 has got to be my favourite by a country mile
In the 14 years I've been using mobile phones the G600 has got to be my favourite by a country mile.
The most impressive aspect for me is the length of time the battery holds its charge, obviously dependent on the amount of usage but last week it went 11 days in between charges after using probably a maximum of 60 minutes talk time during that period.
I would recommend charging the phone whilst it is turned off and letting the battery run down to absolutely empty.
As far as the rest of the features are concerned, well I'm more than happy with them all, easy to navigate and to use, I won't be upgrading this one until I have no other option.
If you don't need the camera it is a good phone
It is a very easy-to-use phone and the menu is easy to access. It is disappointing that the camera is not good at all. For me it spoils a perfectly good phone. The images are blurry and the light doesn't come out right.
The features on the camera are difficult to use (such as switching on the flash) and even with the flash the images aren't good. If you don't need the camera it is a good phone, although very easily scratched too, within a month my phone looked like it was a year old.
would definately replace this phone with the exact same one
I love this phone, it is easy to use, and the buttons are easy to press and to see. It is a slide up phone, so not easy to switch on when in your pocket. The picture quality is amazing, and it has a lot of good qualities. I would definately replace this phone with the exact same one if needed too.
I was also quite happy that it came in pink
I have had this phone now for nearly three months. I chose it because I had a Samsung last year which I quite liked and this was the newer version. I was also quite happy that it came in pink as I am quite girly.
The phone overall is very good but the main usability issue I had with it when I first started using it was that it is a slide phone and I kept turning the phone off by mistake, until you get used to it you have to be very careful in how you slide the screen up/down to show the keypad.
I am very happy with the rest of the phone however, bluetooth is good, camera is good especially at 5.0 megapixels.
fantastic camera with lots of functions which I was impressed with
This phone came out of the box and looked good. I had the Samsung U600 previously the G600 is bigger, but not too big. Very easy to use, it has a fantastic camera with lots of functions which I was impressed with. You can customise your themes etc. I haven't got anything bad to say about this phone and would recommend it.
I will be going for a Samsung again though
I loved my phone at first as I got a free memory card with it and had loads of memory for my ringtones and pictures. I dont like it very much as the battery life dosnt last long and without my memory card in it it will not hold much information. It's good points are its slim and has good sound on it. When I get a new phone or a upgrade I will be going for a Samsung again though.
This phone is let down by poor and frustrating menu design
This phone is let down by poor and frustrating menu design. I have had this phone for a year now and still cannot work out how to take videos. The ability to attach pictures to texts is also hampered by the same difficulty in locating the option, and the manual is not very comprehensive on the subject.
The camera functions on a default setting every time it is activated, meaning I have to set up the flash etc every time I take a picture. It is extremely annoying.
The phone is not hard-wearing either- after less than a year mine has significant problems with receiving incoming calls and the keys have lost most of their sensitivity.
even my husband can use this one and believe me that is a miracle
Great phone with 3.0 mp camera, even my husband can use this one and believe me that is a miracle. This is my third Samsung mobile phone and the best one yet. This phone takes really good clear pictures, the only problem I had at the start was how to take videos but I soon worked it out.
purchased this phone for £110, and I feel it is still worth every penny
I got this phone a couple of months ago and decided to write a review as I was so impressed with it. What attracted me to this phone was it's great style and it's value. I purchased this phone for £110, and I feel it is still worth every penny.
It has great battery life - even after months of use. The 5mp camera is great, some say it isnt but you just need to adjust the settings. I was a previous owner of the Samsung U600, however this frustrated me because of the touch screen buttons at the front which I found very annoying, luckily this phone doesn't have any touch buttons.
I find it very user friendly, a great buy and I will keep it for a long while.
camera is acceptable but it does not have a flash
This phone is very easy to use with a very large screen so it is easy to see what your doing. The camera is acceptable but it does not have a flash light but is good in the day. The memory is okay and if its not enough theres even room for a memory card.
really easy to use, and it has some great features
This is a really good mobile phone. It's really easy to use, and it has some great features, including voice recorder, image editor, world clock, converter, timer, stopwatch, plus many more.
It boasts a 5 mega pixel camera, with flash. It has an FM radio that can memorise your favourite radio stations. It can store 15( minimum) full length music tracks on the phone memory, plus many many more on a micro SD card. Overall, I'd say this is a great phone, and I'd definitely recommend Samsung mobiles.
Connects to the internet too, when you don't necessarily want it too
Personally love it. but... the slide feature sometimes sticks and keys on the keypad are not as sensitive as you'd like them to be. Although you don't want overly sensitive keys, these need to be a little more so. Connects to the internet too, when you don't necessarily want it too. Which is a tad annoying.
Excellent 5.0 megapixel camera with flash
Stylish phone with slide mechanism. Excellent 5.0 megapixel camera with flash. Despite the camera, the phone is slim and light compared to others with similar camera's. I have heard some people say that the slide mechanism can move if jarred, cutting off a call. I have not had this problem and anyway, the slide mechanism can be set so that it does not effect phone functions. Good value all round phone.
camera is good but not great when there is movement
Really easy to use phone with nice simple menu. It looks good and is good value for money. The camera is good but not great when there is movement in the photo. Radio and music features are good unlike my old Sony Ericsson, you can set the radio as your wake up alarm. I'd definately recommend the G600.
I cannot change the message ringtones
I found this phone to be great in most ways especially when playing music as the volume is quite loud. However the one most annoying part about the phone is that I cannot change the message ringtones, which I found quite suprising as it is supposed to be an up to date phone. The last phone I had was able to change the message alert.
The camera is quite good, but you do have to hold it perfectly still for quite a few seconds before it actually snaps the picture. Overall quite a good phone.
good points are that the battery life is good and its easy to use
I thought this phone would be great as when I bought it, it was meant to have one of the best cameras however even though its a 5.0 mega pixel camera I didn't think it was great as my photos were always blurry. I have also had some problems with the phone sometimes being hard to slide up. Its good points are that the battery life is good and its easy to use.
this has all the features you want from a mobile phone
This is the best phone I have ever owned, all the features you want from a mobile it has. This phone has an excellent camera, thats easy to use, all the usual applications alarm, calc, converter etc. A radio that actually works unlike some mobiles I've had. Very easy to use and stylish, durable design.
Highly Recommended
Samsung seem to have caught on and improved it
This handset looks really nice and smart - it is more bulkier than the U600 (the touchscreen phone) but works so much better with buttons rather than the touchscreen.
Has got all the features you'd expect to see, camera is good and the predictive text facility has improved. I've always preferred Nokia texting but Samsung seem to have caught on and improved it.
Overall, this has been my favourite Samsung mobile phone.
looks fairly good but definitely room for improvement
The novelty of a new phone soon wears off and it just becomes a standard mobile phone. The camera is not the best for a 5.0 megapixels. The MP3 player is not bad and does the job. The quality of the games are very poor. It does however look fairly good but definitely room for improvement.
had this phone less than a month and the buttons are sticking
I've had this phone less than a month and the buttons are sticking, I have to send it back for another one.
Extremely difficult to text before the keypad stuck but features are good, the camera is particularly good and the FM radio, but the SD micro card doesn't hold enough songs. Games OK and some other features I would never use myself. I wouldn't recommend due to the keypad being very poor.
camera is fantastic and general use overall is very good
The only problem with this phone is trying to use the internet on it. I have arithis and find the letters to small to continually keep pressing them and end up doing it wrong. Otherwise the camera is fantastic and general use overall is very good. Would recommend for mobile use only.
memory card is great, plenty of room for music and videos
Fantastic phone, I chose it in pink, but might I add, the purple version is also beautiful. The battery life is fantastic compared to the Nokia's. It's very easy to navigate around. The memory card is great, plenty of room for music and videos, plus the headphones really make it worthwhile having as an MP3 player.
nearly a year now and never had a single problem with it
I love this phone, its really easy to use. I've had it for nearly a year now and never had a single problem with it. The camera is fantastic. My only problem is that I keep running out of space for text messages (although that is at about 200 between inbox and sent).
cheap contract and I'm really happy with it
I was upgraded to this mobile phone on a cheap contract and I'm really happy with it. Its very easy to operate and the menu is simple to navigate. The camera is good quality and many pictures have been taken and uploaded.
Extras include a radio however you can only listen to it through headphones. The battery life on this phone is brilliant and I charge it every 3 or 4 days.
I don't like the pink as it looks constantly dirty
Really easy to use phone. You do have to go through a few options before you get to send a txt message but again really easy. Very easy to use the camera and the pictures come out really good.
I chose the pink and silver version and the only complaint I have is I don't like the pink as it looks constantly dirty, but that is my opinion and it is totally cosmetic, wish I'd had purple or black.
It is quite big but for the benefits it is worth it. I'm not into technology but even using the radio etc is really simple anyone could do it.
Good customization features, funky design
I've had this phone for about a month, it's quite light but not as light as a previous Samsung phone I'd had before. It's quite a pretty colour, mine's pink, it's not in your face but is quite funky all the same.
The backlight is a bit weird, when you're typing it goes from bright to like a dull colour, it's very off-putting. Although the camera is a 5.0 megapixel, the quality of the photos are terrible, no don't blame me, my partner has got an old Sony Ericsson and his camera's about 2.0 megapixels and they are fantastic photos.
The battery doesn't really last that long, but that said I do leave my phone on 24/7. I'd say it would last about 80 hours with texting and phoning, so it still lasts a while.
I think it has very good options to change it to how you want to look layout wise. My menu background is currently purple in a funky pattern. The colours are very bright.
Also the buttons aren't touch sensitive like my previous phone, I prefer them without this feature as you always end up pressing one button or the other.
I would give this phone an 8/10. Ideal for those fashion concious but not really wanting a james bond gadget phone.
sleek design and great usability and features
Excellent phone. The Samsung G600 has a sleek design and great usability and features.
One of the best features of this model is that you can create your own themes for the phone including lots of design features. It has a 5.0 megapixel camera and flash, this phone is perfect for the style conscious who want to have a top of the range phone.
good phone but it could have been great if they improve the keypad
Looks good, nice big screen, the only problem is the buttons. They are too small and easily damaged. A wee bit of force required sometimes to get the word/letter you want.
Difficult to get used to (I had a Samsung before and I expected the texting to be the same if not identical). The free headphones are garbage but at least you get the software included unlike previous models.
A good phone but it could have been great if they improve the keypad.
dont like how you cannot change the ringtone for a message
I have had the mobile phone for about a year and have been sent 3 replacements as the mobile has crashed etc. Also I dont like how you cannot change the ringtone for a message. The camera is very good but it would be better if the flash could stay on as a light as well as being the flash. Other than that the mobile is nice to use.
easy and fun to use, great 5.0 megapixel camera, nice slick design
No complaints about this phone, easy and fun to use, great 5.0 megapixel camera, nice slick design. Comes in a range of colours, one of the best Samsumg's ever in my opinion. Battery life is a lot better than most phones today. Would recommend this phone to anyone young or old.
As it is a slide phone it took some getting used to
The camera is good, no complaints except there is a delay so pictures can be slow to take. As it is a slide phone it took some getting used to whilst texting and keys feel very close together. After my last phone which was a Sony Ericsson its, for me a hard act to follow and took a while to get used to.
has been very resilient upto now which is great
Good phone overall, I always drop it but it has been very resilient upto now which is great. It is very large compared to quite a few phones out there but so long as you dont want to keep it in fitted pants pockets its ok. The camera is good and has some good features like drawing effect. I would reccomend this phone!
a really good phone, got to grips with it so quickly, I am impressed
So much easier to use than its predecessor, the U600. Gone are the irritating touch buttons, and in comes wonderful iPod style menus (love them) and a great light sensor which lightens/darkens in appropriate sunlight.
I loved creating my own theme for the phone. The only negative I have found is that there are only 4 text tones to choose from, and you cant use a song like you could on the U600.
However, this is a really good phone, got to grips with it so quickly - I am impressed!
I have it in pink which looks really nice
I have it in pink which looks really nice, this phone is very easy to use, the camera is 5.0 megapixels which is also very easy to use and your able to get good pictures. It also has the usual games etc but I don't use them so unable to comment on them apart from they are easy to find.
A good all round mobile phone
This phone has a sleek look and it makes you look super cool when you get it out of your pocket. But then again, alot more people have it than they used to, which does prove it's good phone, but it may look like you are following the crowd.
So if you're wanting to be original, this phone is a no go. But the phone in general is really good, it is easy to use and adjust to, and has plently of features. Including, a music player, bluetooth, games, internet and so on. It has most things a phone can have,(I might be wrong so dont quote me on that) it doesnt have infared.
The memory on the phone is okay I guess, but I recommend a memory card (yes, that means there is a memory card slot) The phone can only keep up to 220 messages at once, which if you're a keen texter, and depending on if you want to keep your texts or not, can be a good or a bad thing.
But overall, in my opinion, it is a great phone.
when using predictive text you have to turn this off to access symbols
I found the signal very poor with this model, regardless of the area I was in. Also the phone would not remember new additions made in the predictive text library, a bit annoying when you have to keep typing peoples names in. Also when using predictive text you have to turn this off to access symbols such as pound signs.
annoying thing for me is the limited selection of text alert tones
On the whole a very good phone, easy to use and is quite robust. Probably the most annoying thing for me is the limited selection of text alert tones, as a heavy texter, I would like more variety.
Good games and super good camera on the phone, quality looks good when uploaded to a computer.
has a great 5.0 megapixel camera and also has expandable memory
The Samsung G600 is a good looking easy to use phone, it has no silly touch sensitive function. The phone has a great 5.0 megapixel camera and also has an expandable memory sd card slot. Battery life is also extremely good. I would recommend this phone, the only downsides are I have the pink one and it wears very quickly plus I feel sound is not loud enough for me.
a popular phone for all ages and both sexes
This phone is an excellent phone which is easy to use and has excellent features. The camera is of excellent quality and the music is of a great standard. The design of the phone is stylish in the recent market and is a popular phone for all ages and both sexes.
Good quality handset with lots of excellent features
Good quality handset with lots of excellent features, with the added bonus of a 5.0 megapixel camera, you will be able to take and download all of you favorite pictures. An excellent feature. Music on the move with good quality MP3 player downloaded from your pc or from the Samsung website.
a stylish looking phone with a number of features
This is a stylish looking phone with a number of features, the best one being a high quality camera. The keypad isn't the most user friendly, you have to be slow and careful when typing messages. No problems with the slider - works well. Overall, looks good but a little fiddly. Not a good choice for people with chunky hands and fingers.
very easy to use with clear and logical menus, excellent
Excellent phone, very easy to use with clear and logical menus, the camera is also excellent. This is the first slide mobile phone I have owned and I've been impressed with how robust it is.
It is easy to send and receive texts and make calls, the quality of the screen is brilliant. The only snag is there is no way to save the number of someone who has texted you to the phonebook - you have to write it down on a piece of paper then add it manually. But, this is a small frustration for what is the best phone I've ever owned.
Very happy with it, great features and design
One of the best phones I have had, got my Samsung G600 almost a year ago, the only problem I ever had was the memory but I had got about 700 photo's in it and only a 1GB memory card, I bought a 2GB card which solved this.
But then my phone was stolen so I am unhappy now & looking at buying the Tocco instead, having read the reviews on the Tocco here tonight though am not so sure because I did like my G600 & found it easy to use & everything I needed it for, it was a great all round phone. I even dropped it loads of times & it never affected it at all so very sturdy too.
easy to understand menu and is easy enough for anyone to use
I love this phone, it is really easy to use and to handle. It is an attractive phone with a brilliant 5.0 megapixel camera. Takes excellent pics in seconds. It has an easy to understand menu and is easy enough for anyone to use. Its certainly the best phone I have had so far and I have had a few. Highly recommended
about £100 which for a phone with a 5.0 megapixel camera, good value
A fantastic phone, very easy to use, slim, fantastic camera. Can be found quite cheaply for about £100 which for a phone with a 5.0 megapixel camera beats most others on the market. Photos turn out great and can even be be blown up to 10x8 photo prints in excellent quality.
little more expensive than others, but worthwhile
Excellent phone, this is the third Samsung I've owned and its the best. If you've had a Samsung before then this is exactly the same - quick and easy to use. The only problem is getting it to slide open when you're trying to answer it, I wish they'd hurry up and fix this.
I only really use it for phone calls and photos so I can't comment on the other features (not learned how to use them yet) but the camera is great and picture quality really good. A little more expensive than others for sale but worth it.
techno-phobe and I found the phone very easy and simple to use
Very handy phone, large memory and very easy to use. Pictures/photos could be clearer but a very minor problem compared to the rest of the phone. Very durable, I have dropped my phone no end of times and it is still in great working condition.
The phone is also very stylish and isn't bulky like some mobile phones. I am a techno-phobe and I found the phone very easy and simple to use.
has a semi decent camera and also a radio which is handy
Phone looks good and is relatively easy to use as long as you don't want anything too high tech. It has a semi decent camera and also a radio which can be handy if you don't own an iPod. Had mine 6 months and the battery still last for a good few days, unlike other phones I've had in the past.
Good phone, but can be rather fiddly to get to used to
A good phone, but rather fiddly to get to used to and I found texting to be of a lesser standard than some phones, but overall a great phone and very stylish looking to with great sound and a clear bright screen,
it is not as good as the Sony K810i but not far off.
Captured many a valuble moment with the Samsung G600
The G600 from Samsung is a very clever and stylish mobile phone but I found setting it up a little tedious but now I have had it for a while it is an essential part of my life and is very useful.
The 5.0 megapixel camera is a great piece of engineering, I've captured many a valuble moment with this, very recommended.
Due for upgrade but no need or desire
I love this phone and should be changing but why change something does not need fixing. So I am suddenly becoming one of those people who hold on to their mobile phone where before I got a new one as soon as my contract was finished. Its easy to use and has all the features I need.
Really like the G600, music features are great
I wanted this phone for ages because I had heard lots about it from other people. My main reason for getting it was because you can use it like an MP3 player. The music is really easy to load onto the phone, the only problem I found is if you listen to the music a lot the battery goes flat quickly.
Very stylish looking phone but there are one or two drawbacks
I'll be perfectly honest, I chose this phone because it was pink. It is a very stylish looking phone but there are one or two drawbacks with it and certain features take a little bit of getting used to.
The camera is excellent, the music player is excellent but the choice of ringtones and message tones is very limited. The text messaging takes a lot of getting used to especially if you are used to (and who isn't) predictive text
Overall I love it, but the paintwork and finish quality could be better though
I love the Samsung G600, but I do have a few slight criticisms about it. My boyfriend and I both have the same phone and the paint has came of the front of them both so they look a bit worn and old.
The camera is great, 5.0 megaxpixels, one of my other criticisms is a small one but it bugs me, there is only space for 200 text messages even with a memory card and you can only choose between a couple of set message tones, you cannot have personal ones.
Apart from these small things I love the phone, the MP3 player is great and you can use it while doing other things on the phone, the bluetooth is ultra fast.
One of my favourite parts about the phone is that you can completely personalise it. You can make you own background and choose all the colours and the text colour on the menu and you can have a photo for the menu background if you want.
All in all I havent had any problems with it apart from the paintwork.
Has a feature list to back up it's good looks
The look and feel of the G600 is faultless, it really looks the part and has a feature list to back up it's good looks.
The 5.0 megapixel camera is excellent as long as you remember to adjust the settings to high. The built in radio and media player is well laid out and easy to use. One neat touch I like is the ability to see who's sent the text before opening it.
The build quality is also excellent with a good solid feel to the phone, it doesn't have that plastic feel of some other models.
The downsides of this phone are few, the one obvious one is the lack of text message tones, you have a choice of 4 and that's it. Overall a great phone that is as practical as it looks good, highly recommended.
Sadly, this initial appearance is slightly deceiving
At first glance, the Samsung G600 strikes you as robust, stylish phone with a nice simple interface. Sadly, this initial appearance is slightly deceiving.
Some mobile phones you can learn how to use all the features simply using your intuition and checking out all the menus. Learning to use such phones is like learning to ride a bike.
Learning to use some of the basic functions of the G600 is like learning a car. It takes a lengthy read of the phone's manual just to make it work with a PC.
The much trumped 5.0 megapixel camera also disappoints. My previous phones 2.0 megapixel camera somehow managed to take pictures that were more vibrant. It's hard to pinpoint the exact problem but it may be a slightly lack lustre shade to the colours.
Another problem is the phone only allows their pre-loaded sounds for text message alert. In a world awash with fun MP3s for such use, this seems a particularly retrograde feature.
However, if you can get past these stumbling blocks, the G600 is a nice looking phone and quite robust. The music player has some nice features, such as displaying album covers on the menu, though the PC interface software is annoying and clunky. It's probably best to try something else.
Thank you Samsung for making a mobile that any technophobe can use
I have found the Samsung G600 easy to use with excellent features, the best bit is to be able to access my e-mails away from home.
The design of the phone is very good and I love the colour (mine is pink). The ringtones are nice and loud which is very helpful when you cant remember where you put it.
I would be lost without the diary and never be on time for anything. Thank you Samsung for making a mobile phone that any technophobe would love to use.
Great phone but the finish could be more durable
I find this phone very easy to use, all the features are easy to find and adding photos, taking photos are all easy to do.
The overall look of the phone I find is very attractive, one thing I must say is that the slider does bind slightly on the bottom but it doesnt matter too much, also I found that the finish wore off quite quickly, like the top corners and bottom corners wore off in a space of about 4 weeks.
But overall its a great phone.
An excellent phone let down by the software and camera
To begin with I was very impressed with the design of the Samsung G600, it is very smooth, solid and the slide mechanism is a delight being so smooth when opening and closing, but after a few days of use I found that the software used for text messaging was very poor.
As I use predictive text all the time I rely on adding new words for the phone to remember but with the G600 words would be lost between 4 - 24 hours for no reason whatsoever.
Also having quite large fingers I found the small keys quite hard to get used to and quite often pressed multiple keys at the same time. The camera is 5.0 megapixel which sounds great as part of a phone package but when taking photos the phone has to be kept absolutely still as does the the thing/person being photographed or the picture ends up looking blurred. The zoom is very poor also.
Finally the phone is only able to support a 2gig memory card which is quite small considering a lot of phones nowadays come with 5gig as standard.
An excellent phone for style but only average at best for the software.
Had to send this phone back and I have to send it back again
God this phone is the most biggest pain, three times I have had to send this phone back and I have to send it back again. I can't make any calls or receive calls, I have to turn the phone off and on again to get it to work.
Very unhappy and will not be buying a Samsung again, my old Sony works very, well no faults and I have never had problems like this before.
This could be a network issue but whilst in the Vodafone shop, two other people were complaining of the same fault, the assistant said it was a bad signal what utter rubbish.
Privacy lock for individual things like your text messages or photos
The phone is quite big and bulky to use and most irritating as the menu button keeps sticking. It is so annoying, what I do like about it is that you have a privacy lock for individual things like your text messages or photos so if you have a snoop in your midsts you can leave your phone lying around safely.
That is why I am keeping this phone, I would rather swear at the menu button than get caught having secret messages or photos.
It is a nice looking phone but a bit too big, but I will struggle on with it until O2 offer me a new one.
Hope this helps someone who doesn't want anyone snooping about their text messages. Life can be so hard at times.
Lack of word selection in the text editor
I've used this phone for a while now and while I certainly can't complain about the camera or MP3 Player I do find the layout clunky compaired to my old 6280i, using the internet, the lack of word selection in the text editor means you only have manual input which is very slow when using mobile MSN, the input problem also goes for the phone book too.
I'm on my second one now after the up and left buttons stopped working on the first one and now this one is switching off at random, good for the price but I will buy Nokia next.
5.0 megapixels with a good lense
I got this phone in August 2007. Mainly as I wanted a new phone and they recommended it was excellent value as the cheapest deal per month, I'm on T-mobile and went on a £15 per month tariff.
The camera is 5.0 megapixels with a good lense, which I really wanted, comparing the images against my 8.0 megapixel camera, its excellent and you cannot see the difference until you enlarge the pictures.
The other functions are great. It does takes a bit of getting used to like any if you change manufacturers. The music player is not in the same league with ease of use comapared to the Sony Ericsson's, but I dont use that function much anyway.
I bought it for the camera and video function and to take and make calls, and using these functions, it's great.
found the photo quality questionable, particularly at night
Excellent phone, very easy to use, nice and slim in the pocket. However photo quality is questionable considering it is supposed to be 5.0 megapixels, the flash on the mobile phone is also very poor quality so pictures taken at night time are also very poor.
Brilliant phone and I have had a fare few
Brilliant phone, the best one I have had so far and I have had a fare few. Brilliant camera, very clear, can zoom in and the picture still looks clear.
Has an MP3 player and radio which is good, it also switches the player off if you get a message or phone call.
Have already recommended it to family and friends
I love this phone, every Samsung I have had in the past broke but this one is fantastic, I have already recommended it to family and friends. The phone is easy to use, even my 4 year old daughter can work the camera and the mp3 player on the phone so if she can anyone can, the picture quality is also fantastic.
Dropped it many many times and it is very durable
Nice looking phone, although the touch keys can be a pain sometimes, especially when sending a text message. I have dropped it many many times and it is very durable as its still in one piece. Good phone overall, good camera but video camera quite poor.
Stylish, easy to navigate and an excellent camera
Cool, stylish phone, easy to navigate and an excellent camera. Like the feature that you can have a picture and different ringtone for contacts stored in the phonebook i.e photo of caller. Love Samsung phones and this one is no exception, would recommend, I have the pink version which is so feminine, good battery life, also like the MP3 player.
I think Samsung need to come up with some different menus
This phone does look rather stylish with the dark casing, but overall its very basic to me as I am used to Sony Ericsson, I think Samsung need to come up with some different menus etc as every model seems to be the same. Apart from that I have had no problems with the G600 mobile phone at all.
Access to the internet is relatively easy
Nice looking phone. Not so easy to text (coming from owning a Nokia for years), battery life isn't all that fantastic. Camera on phone is really good, access to the internet is relatively easy. Comes with a bluetooth set which is handy. Easy to download pic's to a computer.
The silver paint effect is of poor quality
The phone is acceptable, however, the silver paint effect is of poor quality and with general usage starts to flake away and ends up looking cheap and old very quickly.
The camera is meant to be 5.0 megapixel but quality of photos isn't great. The storage capacity for photos and music is good as is the sound quality.
The phone is pretty lightweight and slim so can be carried around easily unnoticed.
A good example of modern mobile phone technology
The G600 from Samsung has a very sleek and sophisticated design. The screen has a high quality resolution and a nice colour balance. The 5.0 megapixel camera is also a nice bonus feature, although it can produce quite blurred pictures as it is hard to hold very still. Overall though, the phone is simple, stylish and a good example of modern mobile phone technology.
Photo quality doesnt seem to reflect 5.0 megapixels
I think that this phone is ok but one of the main downfalls is the camera, its meant to be 5.0 megapixels but the photo quality doesnt seem to reflect that. At the moment there are alot better phones out there with more features, this phone doesnt even have video calling, but overall its ok for the basic phone user.
I am happy to recommend it
All together this is a great phone and I am happy to recommend it. At first it took a little getting used to as it is wider and flatter to hold than my previous phone but now I'm used to that it's just fine. I particularly like the clear screen and camera quality.
Samsung G600 has served me extremely well
I have not had my phone long but the Samsung G600 has served me extremely well. I bought it for the design/look and am still happy with it. The camera is really good as it takes excellent pictures. Other than this it does not have many more advanced features although I did not buy the phone with this in mind. Overall I am happy with my phone.
I think the Samsung G600 is brill.
I've had the Samsung G600 for around five months now, I think it's brill. Ive had no problems with it and I think that Samsungs are definately the best bet for a reliable, up to date mobile.
The design of the phone is really sleek. I love the gun metal colour and the overall sturdy feel of the phone. The screen is also a great size with an excellent display.
I've only given this phone a three for features because I was rather dissapointed with the camera. I was lead to believe that the picture quality would be immaculate, but they are quite pixelated and even worse when taken in false lighting or at night time. However, this doesn't bother me as I'm not a big camera user.
I love most of the other features on this phone, especially the custom made themes, mp3 player and radio. Another negative aspect is that you cannot choose your own message tones. However, there are a few installed within the phone and these are pretty regular and safe. The Bluetooth also doesn't seem as good as some other phones, if I'm sitting next to someone in a pub full of people and they're sending me something, you can guarentee that my name will be the last to appear, if it appears at all. However this may just be my phone because I've never had problems with the Bluetooth on my other Samsungs.
The usability is excellent and after a few hours of fiddling I found it really easy to use, and the navigation is also really easy. Some users may find the texting difficult because you have to be really quick, this wont bother power texters and is quite easy to get used to in anyway.
Overall, this is one of the best mobile phones that I have ever had. It's great and more importantly, its a phone that I can trust. The battery last for ages and more importantly, its survived a few nasty falls, not even a scratch on it!! If you're looking for a modern mobile phone without the gimics, the Samsung G600 is for you!
Thanks for reading my review of the Samsung G600, Gaz.
The sliding action tends to stick
The G600 is a nice looking phone, very stylish and slim style. However the battery power doesnt seem to last long and the signal always seems weak but I guess that could be a network coverage issue.
Some good features on the phone but find them difficult to negotiate at times, very clear screen but the sliding action tends to stick which can cut the phone off when your trying to answer.
G600 is great to use
This phone is excellent for the price.
Very easy to operate, great for teenagers too.
Internet very easy to use and is quite fast. Design of the phone is simple and is great to use.
Good phone all round. Good choice of colour.
Great quality of pictures and video
I expected the G600 to be lighter and thinner. I would have preferred a different colour, mine is grey.
Also the phone did not come automatically with the option of displaying my number to others. I had to call and ask about it. Was told I needed to put in another T-Mobile sim card to activate it, which was inconvenient for me.
On a positive note, the quality of pictures and video is good. I got my Samsung G600 on contract for free.
Like everything about the Samsung G600
Bought the Samsung G600 2 weeks ago now.
Doesn't feel heavy due to the ergonomics. Liked everything about it.
Normal Samsung 3 day battery life on average. Radio is far more sensitive than Sony Ericsson's phones, as it picks up the fainter stations without any problems.
Camera acceptable. Video ok, for the spec. Comes with 1GB memory card.
Best camera phone
I love this phone! I mean it may not be the best looking phone but it's fantastic. Love the camera.
If anyone is looking for a good camera phone look no further this is the best phone out. I had this phone for a month and its already got about three cousins buying one 2 because they like mine so much!
Great camera phone
Anyone looking for a camera phone should look no further. I was a Nokia user prior to buying this phone and I am more than happy with my samsung g600.
If you want a phone that you can carry on you to take great pictures this phone is for you. It so slim you don't realise you are carrying it and yet it takes amazing photos!
Oh did I mention it can make a phone call as well ;-)
The camera is amazing!
I absolutely love this phone! The camera is amazing! Its got a 5 megapixel camera built in and this phone is tiny! I used to carry my seperate 5 megapixel digital camera when I went out for nights with the ladies ;) Now I certainly don't need to as this is perfect for getting out to grab some shots. It comes with the usual features such as bluetooth. I had a Samsung mobile phone before so I find it really easy to use.

Mobile phones are constantly being updated in a constantly evolving industry with huge demands. Where camera phones go up by the megapixel on a monthly basis and the next big feature just around the corner, it certainly can be confusing finding the right mobile phone.
Most handsets now could be classed as 'smart phones' based on where mobile phones were a few years ago with the current crop of buzz words - 3G, HSPDA, megapixel, social networking, apps, A-GPS and more. Thats why reading impartial user reviews is the best way of deciding what phone to buy next!
