Privacy lock for individual things like your text messages or photos
The phone is quite big and bulky to use and most irritating as the menu button keeps sticking. It is so annoying, what I do like about it is that you have a privacy lock for individual things like your text messages or photos so if you have a snoop in your midsts you can leave your phone lying around safely.
That is why I am keeping this phone, I would rather swear at the menu button than get caught having secret messages or photos.
It is a nice looking phone but a bit too big, but I will struggle on with it until O2 offer me a new one.
Hope this helps someone who doesn't want anyone snooping about their text messages. Life can be so hard at times.
Lack of word selection in the text editor
I've used this phone for a while now and while I certainly can't complain about the camera or MP3 Player I do find the layout clunky compaired to my old 6280i, using the internet, the lack of word selection in the text editor means you only have manual input which is very slow when using mobile MSN, the input problem also goes for the phone book too.
I'm on my second one now after the up and left buttons stopped working on the first one and now this one is switching off at random, good for the price but I will buy Nokia next.
5.0 megapixels with a good lense
I got this phone in August 2007. Mainly as I wanted a new phone and they recommended it was excellent value as the cheapest deal per month, I'm on T-mobile and went on a £15 per month tariff.
The camera is 5.0 megapixels with a good lense, which I really wanted, comparing the images against my 8.0 megapixel camera, its excellent and you cannot see the difference until you enlarge the pictures.
The other functions are great. It does takes a bit of getting used to like any if you change manufacturers. The music player is not in the same league with ease of use comapared to the Sony Ericsson's, but I dont use that function much anyway.
I bought it for the camera and video function and to take and make calls, and using these functions, it's great.
found the photo quality questionable, particularly at night
Excellent phone, very easy to use, nice and slim in the pocket. However photo quality is questionable considering it is supposed to be 5.0 megapixels, the flash on the mobile phone is also very poor quality so pictures taken at night time are also very poor.
Brilliant phone and I have had a fare few
Brilliant phone, the best one I have had so far and I have had a fare few. Brilliant camera, very clear, can zoom in and the picture still looks clear.
Has an MP3 player and radio which is good, it also switches the player off if you get a message or phone call.
Have already recommended it to family and friends
I love this phone, every Samsung I have had in the past broke but this one is fantastic, I have already recommended it to family and friends. The phone is easy to use, even my 4 year old daughter can work the camera and the mp3 player on the phone so if she can anyone can, the picture quality is also fantastic.
Dropped it many many times and it is very durable
Nice looking phone, although the touch keys can be a pain sometimes, especially when sending a text message. I have dropped it many many times and it is very durable as its still in one piece. Good phone overall, good camera but video camera quite poor.
Stylish, easy to navigate and an excellent camera
Cool, stylish phone, easy to navigate and an excellent camera. Like the feature that you can have a picture and different ringtone for contacts stored in the phonebook i.e photo of caller. Love Samsung phones and this one is no exception, would recommend, I have the pink version which is so feminine, good battery life, also like the MP3 player.
I think Samsung need to come up with some different menus
This phone does look rather stylish with the dark casing, but overall its very basic to me as I am used to Sony Ericsson, I think Samsung need to come up with some different menus etc as every model seems to be the same. Apart from that I have had no problems with the G600 mobile phone at all.
Access to the internet is relatively easy
Nice looking phone. Not so easy to text (coming from owning a Nokia for years), battery life isn't all that fantastic. Camera on phone is really good, access to the internet is relatively easy. Comes with a bluetooth set which is handy. Easy to download pic's to a computer.
The silver paint effect is of poor quality
The phone is acceptable, however, the silver paint effect is of poor quality and with general usage starts to flake away and ends up looking cheap and old very quickly.
The camera is meant to be 5.0 megapixel but quality of photos isn't great. The storage capacity for photos and music is good as is the sound quality.
The phone is pretty lightweight and slim so can be carried around easily unnoticed.
A good example of modern mobile phone technology
The G600 from Samsung has a very sleek and sophisticated design. The screen has a high quality resolution and a nice colour balance. The 5.0 megapixel camera is also a nice bonus feature, although it can produce quite blurred pictures as it is hard to hold very still. Overall though, the phone is simple, stylish and a good example of modern mobile phone technology.
Photo quality doesnt seem to reflect 5.0 megapixels
I think that this phone is ok but one of the main downfalls is the camera, its meant to be 5.0 megapixels but the photo quality doesnt seem to reflect that. At the moment there are alot better phones out there with more features, this phone doesnt even have video calling, but overall its ok for the basic phone user.
I am happy to recommend it
All together this is a great phone and I am happy to recommend it. At first it took a little getting used to as it is wider and flatter to hold than my previous phone but now I'm used to that it's just fine. I particularly like the clear screen and camera quality.
Samsung G600 has served me extremely well
I have not had my phone long but the Samsung G600 has served me extremely well. I bought it for the design/look and am still happy with it. The camera is really good as it takes excellent pictures. Other than this it does not have many more advanced features although I did not buy the phone with this in mind. Overall I am happy with my phone.
I think the Samsung G600 is brill.
I've had the Samsung G600 for around five months now, I think it's brill. Ive had no problems with it and I think that Samsungs are definately the best bet for a reliable, up to date mobile.
The design of the phone is really sleek. I love the gun metal colour and the overall sturdy feel of the phone. The screen is also a great size with an excellent display.
I've only given this phone a three for features because I was rather dissapointed with the camera. I was lead to believe that the picture quality would be immaculate, but they are quite pixelated and even worse when taken in false lighting or at night time. However, this doesn't bother me as I'm not a big camera user.
I love most of the other features on this phone, especially the custom made themes, mp3 player and radio. Another negative aspect is that you cannot choose your own message tones. However, there are a few installed within the phone and these are pretty regular and safe. The Bluetooth also doesn't seem as good as some other phones, if I'm sitting next to someone in a pub full of people and they're sending me something, you can guarentee that my name will be the last to appear, if it appears at all. However this may just be my phone because I've never had problems with the Bluetooth on my other Samsungs.
The usability is excellent and after a few hours of fiddling I found it really easy to use, and the navigation is also really easy. Some users may find the texting difficult because you have to be really quick, this wont bother power texters and is quite easy to get used to in anyway.
Overall, this is one of the best mobile phones that I have ever had. It's great and more importantly, its a phone that I can trust. The battery last for ages and more importantly, its survived a few nasty falls, not even a scratch on it!! If you're looking for a modern mobile phone without the gimics, the Samsung G600 is for you!
Thanks for reading my review of the Samsung G600, Gaz.
The sliding action tends to stick
The G600 is a nice looking phone, very stylish and slim style. However the battery power doesnt seem to last long and the signal always seems weak but I guess that could be a network coverage issue.
Some good features on the phone but find them difficult to negotiate at times, very clear screen but the sliding action tends to stick which can cut the phone off when your trying to answer.
G600 is great to use
This phone is excellent for the price.
Very easy to operate, great for teenagers too.
Internet very easy to use and is quite fast. Design of the phone is simple and is great to use.
Good phone all round. Good choice of colour.
Great quality of pictures and video
I expected the G600 to be lighter and thinner. I would have preferred a different colour, mine is grey.
Also the phone did not come automatically with the option of displaying my number to others. I had to call and ask about it. Was told I needed to put in another T-Mobile sim card to activate it, which was inconvenient for me.
On a positive note, the quality of pictures and video is good. I got my Samsung G600 on contract for free.
Like everything about the Samsung G600
Bought the Samsung G600 2 weeks ago now.
Doesn't feel heavy due to the ergonomics. Liked everything about it.
Normal Samsung 3 day battery life on average. Radio is far more sensitive than Sony Ericsson's phones, as it picks up the fainter stations without any problems.
Camera acceptable. Video ok, for the spec. Comes with 1GB memory card.
Best camera phone
I love this phone! I mean it may not be the best looking phone but it's fantastic. Love the camera.
If anyone is looking for a good camera phone look no further this is the best phone out. I had this phone for a month and its already got about three cousins buying one 2 because they like mine so much!
Great camera phone
Anyone looking for a camera phone should look no further. I was a Nokia user prior to buying this phone and I am more than happy with my samsung g600.
If you want a phone that you can carry on you to take great pictures this phone is for you. It so slim you don't realise you are carrying it and yet it takes amazing photos!
Oh did I mention it can make a phone call as well ;-)
The camera is amazing!
I absolutely love this phone! The camera is amazing! Its got a 5 megapixel camera built in and this phone is tiny! I used to carry my seperate 5 megapixel digital camera when I went out for nights with the ladies ;) Now I certainly don't need to as this is perfect for getting out to grab some shots. It comes with the usual features such as bluetooth. I had a Samsung mobile phone before so I find it really easy to use.
