Could have really done with a stylus to help
Not very user friendly - unable to issue group messages and the sensitivity of the touch screen is a nightmare - either too quick or not quick enough. Could have really done with a stylus to help. Also unable to save groups under address lists. I found that the battery didnt last long.
I'm so pleased with its design and features
Overall very good phone. I have had this phone for 18 months and I'm so pleased with its design and features. I am going to continue to use it and not bother to upgrade once my mobile contract has expired.
The only bad points I can think of is that if you are not used to using the touchscreen feature it can be a little annoying at first. I tended to press the wrong touch buttons by mistake which meant texting could take a while, but after a few weeks of using this phone I quickly got the hang of it and this is no longer a problem.
the buttons tend to freeze
The buttons are very sensitive which makes it annoying when texting or dialling, also the buttons tend to freeze on both mine and my partners phone. There are some good features on the phone like the picture quality on the camera, the games are pretty good and the music player is good. Overall a decent phone but would not recommend.
the screen is large enough to view texts and photo's.
The phone itself looks good and there is plenty available on this phone but the touchscreen is not very good. I often press the buttom to change launguage whilst writing in predictive text. The camera is good and the screen is large enough to view texts and photo's.

the touch screen is fantastic especially for texting
Great phone really pleased with it. I will definitely purchase another Samsung phone when this one is finished. It's really easy to use, very straight forward, the touch screen is fantastic especially for texting. Comes with a really fab camera too. Overall phone is ace.
Looks great and fits into jean pockets without a problem
Great user friendly menu and options. Looks great and fits into jean pockets without a problem. The music player can be a bit quiet when on speaker but when using headphones its perfect. I wish that you could use themes which can be bluetoothed from other makes but this is not allowed, maybe something to improve on?
I feel that the touch screen is almost a bit clumsy
I like my phone but can find it a bit annoying when texting or needing to use it in a hurry. I feel that the touch screen is almost a bit clumsy and can sometimes freeze for no reason. However, the 5mp camera is very good and so is the flash. Phone is very versitile and I never have to worry if i accidently drop it.

The camera is very nice, takes really good pictures
Really good phone, easy to use and quite durable. I've dropped it loads of times and it still works perfectly. Its very light, and very stylish, the best phone I have ever had with lots of applications which are easy to use. The camera is very nice, takes really good pictures.
a durable phone as well as stylish
I purchased this phone in February 2009, I found it slightly difficult to use at first however I soon got used to it. (I wouldnt recommend touch screen phones for people with long finger nails!) It works well, I have dropped it a number of times and had no issues. I heard of someone who dropped their Tocco from the top of a climbing wall and it survived so it's certainly a durable phone as well as stylish.
write texts quickly, scroll through menus and contacts with ease
This is a great looking phone, slim and light. It has a large screen which is great when texting and taking photos. The camera is 10 mega pixels and is easy to use, taking great photos.
The phone is almost completely touchscreen which is a little difficult to use at first and it does take a while to get used to. When texting you often press the wrong key or change the language. Once you have got the hang of things you are able to write texts quickly, scroll through menus and contacts with ease.
Overall this is fantastic phone and does everything you need, I've had mine 2 years now which is a record for me.

nice, slim and lightweight
The phone is nice, slim and lightweight. All functions accessed through the touchscreen which can be a bit annoying to begin with but when you get the hang of it, you can text as such as fast as a normal keypad. Cool features such as music recognition are included although it does have to connect to the internet to function which can be pricey!
still going strong after nearly 10 months
I love it, the music player gives a really good sound, the menu's are easy to use and my phone is still going strong after nearly 10 months despite being dropped several timesetc etc. PS my friends and family liked it so much that both my mum and boyfriend decided to get one too.
great to start with but I have had mine for around 16 months
The Tocco is great to start with but I have had mine for around 16 months and now it turns itself off and on again when I'm talking to someone which I dont think it should be doing. Also it seems to be too sensitive on the touchscreen because I choose a key and it does the one next to it, dont know if its just me but thats what I have found with this phone.

now that I am used to it its a good phone
It took a few months for me to get used to the touchscreen of this phone especially when texting, now that I am used to it its a good phone.
It's a sturdy phone, I have dropped it I don't now how many times and it has never cracked or smashed although it is now a bit scratched.
The battery lasts for a good length of time if you don't use it to call very much, if you do it drops quite quickly (but that could just be mine).
I have always had Samsung phones and this is a great phone but if you use smileys etc then you are out of luck with this model as they dont have any as standard.
All in all I dont have any complaints about the phone, network yeah, not the phone.
an all rounder phone
This is an all rounder phone. Great 5mp camera and video recorder with editing features. Clear music player and great browser. Difficult to text at speed due to touch screen. The Samsung Tocco is a stylish looking phone that adds sophistication to any wardrobe.
I can also watch sky tv on my phone
Very good phone, could be faster on the internet, has many good features like 5.0 megapixel camera and very big phone memory, touch screen capabilities which makes gaming alot easier and the picture quality is excellent and I can also watch sky tv on my phone.

I've gone back to using my old N95
An attractive phone at first glance. The screen resolution is good, it fits snugly in the hand, and build quality feels reliable. There is also a good haptic feedback - always a plus on any touchscreen phone, plus the "widget" system is useful - if limited. The 5 mp camera is relatively easy to use, though with so many options to tweak pictures, it can be slightly confusing.
However, the cons significantly outweigh the pros. For starters, the phone crashes. A lot. And when this happens (usually whilst writing a text or trying to save a picture) it necessitates removing the battery and completely rebooting the handset. After resetting, all the "widgets" are reset, and given that these aren't as customisable as they appear, is something of an annoyance.
A real problem is the touchscreen. Texting is a nightmare, as it's incredibly easy to switch languages mid-text, accidentally delete characters or even whole words, and the lack of a virtual qwerty keyboard is an obvious omission on a phone with such a large screen.
Music playback is good, with a wide range of options to adjust the sound, but locating a specific track by name is virtually impossible - you have to scroll through hundreds of songs by title to find just one, there being absolutely no search function at all.
Ultimately, it's all style and no substance. Looks great, but the usability is abysmal. I've gone back to using my old N95, which while bigger, is more reliable and much more user-friendly.
only criticism is screen can scratch quite easily
A great phone with lots of very useful functions, its touchscreen is quite accurate, only criticism is screen can scratch quite easily.
I like the camera, its easy to use this phone. I think its quite an attractive phone and I have been very happy with this phone. Its not the most advanced phone, it doesnt have a lot of software, but its adequate for my needs.
looks nice sure, however my handset freezes all the time
Worst phone I have ever had. It looks nice sure, however my handset freezes all the time. Scrolling through your address book is a nightmare and it asks you if you want to send so many messages and I always forget to press ok again. I have had problems with them all, thought they might have sorted themselves out, but no.

nice looking but sometimes is a bit impractical
The phone is a good design but the problem with it is the touch screen is a bit annoying sometimes when writing texts as you sometimes press something you shouldn't. Also the battery life is not as good as other phones I have had. Overall the phone is nice looking but sometimes is a bit impractical.
touchscreen is not fun to use
The phone looks and feels nice but when you get down to it its quite hard to use. The touchscreen is not very responsive and not fun to use which you expect with a touch screen. Thats the main issue but the good things are the camera which is good quality and you can tweak your photos nicely. Overall the phone is ok but gets boring very quickly.
had it 6 months and my contract still has a year to go
Touch screen phone that has so far continued to drop calls and have a mind of its own. Battery life isnt too bad and although the camera is a high megapixel one it isnt the best quality. Overall I regret getting this phone, only had it 6 months and my contract still has a year to go on it, roll on 2010.

watching full dvds on it was amazing
For the first 6 months this phone was excellent and watching full dvds on it was amazing. I currently have Transformers & Coyote Ugly on a memory card. The playback is great and lip sync is ace for a mobile phone.
So why have I scored it 1 for Usability? Well I ignored the reviews when it first came out regarding call dropping and freezing and boy I wish I didn't!
I am on my third phone as I have always taken out insurance which I am glad I did. The first phone dropped calls all the time. Beit calls lasting 5minutes to 1hr +
Orange said that this was a KNOWN fault and then sent out an upgraded software version. Six weeks into that and the exact same problems occured. I changed the Network settings from Auto to GSM 900-1800 to see if that helped...and it didn't. I spoke to Orange who replaced it again, free of charge.
My last one which is sitting in front of me decided to do something more than dropping the calls, it decided to reset itself during a call to a client. In the last 24hours it has dropped calls more than ever.
The area I live in has been tested by Orange and shows that the reception is between a constant 4-5 bar.
I only really use my phone for calls, texts and emails (plus watching the occasional movie, but that is on a well known make of memory card). I have found the Tocco extremely unreliable and am trying my hardest to get a new phone brand. I don't think it is a case of cramming too much technology onto a phone as their isn't much on a Tocco compared to other touch screen phones.
So if you want a great looking phone then get a Tocco. If you actually want a reliable phone to make calls with then, consider other models.
touchscreen and predictive text control makes it so quick and easy to use
Love this phone. Really easy to use. Touch is fab. Would recommend this phone to anyone who loves to be able to touch the screen for texting. Also the touchscreen and predictive text control makes it so quick and easy to use. Good size screen. Had for 14 months and dont want to part with it.
absolutely fine and I could not find one flaw about it. However....
At first it was absolutely fine and I could not find one flaw about it. However, after around 2 months it began freezing constantly and often at the most inconvenient times. I end up having to take the battery out and waiting a few minutes to reset it but even that often doesn't do the trick.
I went into 3 and they refused to swap it for another phone and they only offer repair, so I can only hope that will work but I have read other reviews where the phone has been sent back various times and still no different when it comes back.

3g video streaming quite good and speed wise quite reasonable
Phone is pretty good one, I bought it for it's touch screen features. Since I've had it no problems with it. I found the 3g video streaming quite good and speed wise quite reasonable. One of the other good features is the large screen layout. However, this is not for someone who does not like touch screen.
fashionable phone, that is easy to use and with a good quality camera
I bought the Samsung Tocco about a year ago and having had Samsung as my last 6 phones, this is definitely the best so far that I've had,
The design is really quite small and very sheek, with a very shiny front screen and silver back, the looks are quite stunning! When looking to upgrade my phone, I saw this in the shop and knew straight away that this was the one I was going to get.
The phone comes with an optional cover that attaches to the back, bottom of the phone, where you would normally have the cover to your battery, and flips up to cover the screen. I have to say this is a very handy feature and has kept my screen completely scratch free.
I was a bit dubious about getting a touch screen, because my girlfriend had the Prada phone and this used to crash all the time, but I have had no problems with this phone at all.
The phone is really easy to use and I really love how you can have the main menu screen set out with colourful, block pictures to represent each option. The touch screen is just sensitive enough, so responds well and also fast.
It is easy to write and send text messages, unlike some touch screen phones I have used, as the onscreen text buttons are big enough for larger fingers.
The phone comes with a 5 mega pixel camera, so the quality of the photos you take are pretty good. The phone does come with a video option but I did find the quality of this not so good, so have stuck to using the video option on my digital camera instead!
The main downside to the Samsung Tocco is the games, as although there are a few different games on here, they are only trials and there are no full games, couldn't hurt to have one or two of these could it! The trial games only allow you to play for about 1 min before they try and get you to buy the game, very irritating!
Overall a very nice, fashionable phone, that is easy to use and with a good quality camera.
I find it really easy to use, texting is really quick
I have had this phone since January, I find it really easy to use, texting is really quick. I have got the Pink Tocco its a shame they don't do that on all networks. Comes with a cover for the screen to stop it getting scratched. Camera is fairly good. Once the battery gets to 2 bars it doesnt last long though.

a good looking phone with very average performance
The Samsung Tocco is a stylish phone. It is equally suitable for man or woman as it's sleek look gives it a unisex quality. The icons on the menu look good and the quality of the screen graphics is very high. I saved a holiday photo as the screensaver which looked fantastic.
It is also very durable. I have dropped this phone several times and it still looks good and works well. However, I would say the look of the phone is the best thing about it. I found the touch screen less easy to use than some other makes. When scrolling down the address book it was difficult to scroll to exactly the name I wanted and it would often overshoot, causing frustration.
The other main criticism I have about this phone is the volume. If there was any background noise, I couldn't turn the volume up high enough to hear the other person. Also when I put it on speakerphone, it was very difficult to hear the other person, and could hear the feedback of my background noise above their voice.
Overall, a good looking phone with very average performance.
touch screen did cause a few problems until you get used to the sensitvity
The phone is lightweight and compact, with good styling. The touch screen did cause a few problems until you get used to the sensitvity but overall it has a good feel to it. The flip lid is ideal for butter fingers like me who tend to drop the phone often and offers a good deal of protection to the screen.
Applications and the widgets are good
Really good phone. Applications and the widgets are good. Touchscreen is sensitive but can also be annoying. Only thing wrong is having to wait for a message to send and it takes forever. Battery life is also good. Would reccommend getting.

6 months and I've had nothing but trouble
I've had this phone about 6 months and I've had nothing but trouble with it. The whole phone keeps on freezing, then the phone just goes mad and presses lots of random buttons on the screen that I've not even touched. Have also experienced the touchpad coming to life when on the phone and hanging up on people. Camera is poor and doesn't focus well, pictures come out grainy.
just be aware that it takes a while to get used to the touch screen
At first I found this mobile very tricky to use as it was the first touch screen I have had. However, I soon got used to it and now find it alot easier to use than my old phone. I stick with Samsungs now as I like the design and the features and this phone didn't disappoint, I also like the coloured screen and the variety of different pictures when you lock your phone.
I would recommend this phone to anybody and believe that Samsungs are highly reliable, just be aware that it takes a while to get used to the touch screen if this is your first!
Problem I had was the phone kept crashing on me and freezing
This phone is a good design and has most applications you will need on it. Problem I had was the phone kept crashing on me and freezing and the only way to resolve it was to turn it off and switch it back on.
Being a touch phone sometimes would not register a command, which can be annoying when trying to make a phone call or send a message.

without a memory card it doesn't hold very much
The Samsung Tocco is brilliant it's the best phone I've ever owned. The camera is great, it's easy to use and looks very sleek and stylish. The touch is fine and the buttons don't get mixed up like other touch phones I have used before. The bad thing about the phone is that without a memory card it doesn't hold very much.
the touch screen is 70% of the time good
Good little phone, but its very common now a lot of people seem to have it. I have had some problems with mine however, such as the touch screen is 70% of the time good but it can be unresponsive, or clicks another button than the one I am actually pressing.
The games are poor but thats not important to me really, but 9/10 for the camera and video camera and convient size.
design is superb, the sound quality is excellent
I am really pleased with the F480 Tocco. The design is superb, the sound quality is excellent and for a slim sleek looking phone it is actually quite robust.
The camera quality is excellent too with photos presented very clearly once taken on the large screen. You can either save into an album, set as wall paper/screen saver or send to people via multimedia or bluetooth.
Features of this phone include: Caller Id, Video Calling, Bluetooth, Media Album, Internet, Media Player, Alarms, Calendar, Memo, Video Editor etc.
I do find texting on the touch screen a bit complicated sometimes. Purely because if you are a fast typer you do tend to brush over the wrong keys and have to delete what you have typed. Also the phone isnt the easiest to find your way around so probably not suitable if you are a technophobe! Also there are no built-in games on this phone which I find amazing for a phone which cost this much (£199.00)
All in all a great looking phone and not too complicated once you have gotten used to it.

poor touchscreen keyboard which is far too small
Visually the phone is good with all the common applications you could need for funtionality. The downside is the annoyingly poor touchscreen keyboard which is far too small. Samsung have now rectified this with the newer Tocca Ultra which has a proper keyboard instead.
great pics with this phone prob better than my digi camera
Very sleek and stylish, very fast and easy to use, fantastic camera with great zoom lense, I have taken some great pics with this phone prob better than my digi camera. Sound quality is crystal clear and graphics upto date. Only downside is the screen scratched very easily. But overall a great phone.
I began to find it more like hard work
At first I thought the Samsung Tocco was a great phone, easy to use and a real novelty. However, after use for sometime, I began to find it more like hard work - texting is quite fiddly, especially on the move, it frequently locks itself if you pause what you are doing for more than a few seconds, and it simply takes too long to navigate through all the menus to make a call, text etc.
Ultimately, I decided to go back to my old Sony Ericson K880i - which doesn't look as glamorous but is a lot more user friendly.

Easy to use and very user friendly
Great phone, love the look of it and I really like the touch screen. Easy to use and very user friendly. Only fault is the hold button does not always work! Music is great to listen to although its a bit confusing for downloading music! Overall its a great phone!
easy to use, but the touch screen can sometimes be annoying
Very cool phone - easy to use, but the touch screen can sometimes be annoying - particularly when needing to utilise the numbers while on the phone (eg for automated systems or picking up messages) as holding the phone to your ear often hits a different digit, meaning you have to start again. Decent camera and very good screen.
7 months, and I still think that it looks great
I have had the Tocco now for 7 months, and I still think that it looks great, however I seem to have had problems charging the phone. Texting I have still not got used to as I always seem to change the language by mistake. I also think that it is very complicated to install games onto it.

easy to navigate around and the picture quality of the camera is great
I absolutely love this phone. It is easy to navigate around and the picture quality of the camera is great. I admit I had a few problems at first getting used to texting on a touch screen phone rather than my big chunky buttoned one, but these soon passed and now I fly through the texts, plus the large screen is perfect for browsing the internet. Oh and you get the added bonus of an optional leather cover which keeps the screen from being scratched.
love the look of it and the functions available on it after 9 months
I absolutely love this phone. I have had it for 9 months now and I am still totally in love with it! The only thing I can fault with it is the camera, which can be abit slow to take, but that was if I was being really fussy!
I love the look of it and the functions available on it, such as the number blocking system, which allows for you to block those who you dont want contacting you, including withheld numbers! Love it still!
2 weeks and I'm gettting really annoyed with it
I've had this phone for about 2 weeks and I'm gettting really annoyed with it. The touch screen doesn't always respond and when the cover is closed will only work when the red 'end' button is pressed.
Sometimes the touch screen responds 'too much' and you can't select what you want because it's scrolled down so fast. The screen is meant to be locked as it only responds to heat sensitivity but it has called people when it's been in my bag or pocket. The camera is very good but it doesn't make up for the unresponsiveness of the phone.

Only drawback is only compatible with the headphones supplied
Great phone easy to use, simple drag and drop touch screen. Good music player and radio and excellent camera. Only drawback is only compatible with the headphones supplied. The sound quality is good and the speakers are very loud so it can be used outdoors for music
light, durable and pleasing to look at
This touch-screen phone is light, durable and pleasing to look at. It's simple menus make life simple. I was slightly disappointed that it only reacts to touch from my fingers though as I have long nails and generally use those! But this can be a benefit as other stray items cannot get a reaction when accidently touching the screen. All in all, another great phone from Samsung!
screen is difficult to see in the sun
I've had this phone for about 9 months now and to be honest I am not a big fan of it. I think it's OK and simple for those who don't want a lot of features which is good. However, the touch screen is a bit tempremental and the battery has started to die quickly (a common problem apparently).
In addition it's just slightly too small. The shape of it means it flies out of my hand a lot and the screen is difficult to see in the sun.

very easy to activate if it is in contact with your body
The phone feels nice in your hand, but got to be careful of the touch screen when it is in your pocket. It is very easy to activate if it is in contact with your body.
Texting can be difficult because the buttons are very sensitive and it is extremely easy to touch a wrong button, like catching the cancel button or changing the language.
Finally, there are no quick shortcuts to send a text, you have to press through 11 stages before you actually start writting the message!
lots of camera options for different situations
A fantastic looking phone with great features, including lots of camera options for different situations, shiny pink and silver mirrored effect and compatable with most new bluetooth printers and laptops etc. My only problem is on the touch screen typing a text message can be very hard and this is the only option as there is no actual keyboard.
quite affordable and excellent value

lovely looking phone with lots of fabulous features
I think it is a lovely looking phone with lots of fabulous features on it. It is pretty easy to use although sometimes the touch screen can be a bit annoying because it is a bit too sensitive to touch and I don't know how people with big fingers can use it. Also it can be difficult to use if I have long nails. The pictures are lovely and clear and of a good quality and the internet is easy to use.
The large touch screen is really good, although a little tricky at times
I have the pink version of this phone which is really girly. It comes with 2 covers, 1 a standard silver and the other a pink one with a flap that protects the screen. The camera is really good and because of the screen being big it takes a really good picture.
The large touch screen is really good, although a little tricky to use if you have big fingers. Especially if you have to scroll down, you can end up scrolling down to far. The earphones that come with the phone match the colour. Overall this phone is really nice.
does everything you need and more
This phone does everything you need and more. The functions are excellent. The choice of two covers is good as one allows you to protect the screen and one allows you easier access to the screen. The touch sensor is amazing on this phone, there is no delay in action as there is with some touch screen phones.
The only things I can say about this phone which isn't 100% positive is the fact that it takes a while to get used to texting on it and as yet there is no way to clear your recent contact list in the phone.
Overall a wicked phone.

planning on not upgrading and keeping it for another year
The girl in the shop warned me this phone wouldnt be durable or easy to text on... she was wrong. I love this phone and am even planning on not upgrading and keeping it for another year. a fab Girlie phone when bought in pink
The Samsung tocco is a fab Girlie phone when bought in pink. At first its touch screen can be a bit tricky to master but once you have the knack you will never go back. great phone for people who enjoy their gadgets
The Samsung Tocco is a great phone for people who enjoy their gadgets, with a 5 megapixel camera this phone offers amazing qualities. The touch screen can take a while to get used to and can be quite slow to use but overall is very good. I have recently bought a game for my phone and it is very difficult to use as it doesnt use the full touch screen capability.
The camera is so good that I have sold my digital camera
This is the best phone I have ever had. It's slim and lightweight as well as being versitile and powerful. I love all the functions as it is so easy to use, I take my phone everywhere with me and use it as a camera on holiday. The camera is so good that I have sold my digital camera as there is no need to have both.

I'd say a pretty decent effort by Samsung
The phone is good looking, easy to navigate, has a pretty good amount of features. The camera is good quality however the zoom and video mode let it down. The screen saver cannot be altered and can become annoying if you want your own pictures to be used. Overall I'd say a pretty decent effort by Samsung.
software for loading the pictures onto the computer is simple and concise
I love this phone. Read lots of reviews about the texting being difficult to use but I have had no problems what so ever. I've got 4 friends who have the same phone and we all find it very easy to use. The camera is great, easy to use and the software for loading the pictures onto the computer is simple and concise.
texting, this can be quite difficult if you have big fingers

been numerous occasions where my screen has stopped working
Ok phone wouldnt recommend it, the 5 megapixel camera is terrible and there have been numerous occasions where my screen has stopped working or has a mind of its own with the menu screen constantly turning around and around and the widget bar moving up and down.
I have already had a Tocco and returned it due to sound faults and battery life lasting only 4/5 hours after being "fully" charged.
camera quality is fabulous and applications are easy to use
sleek, cool design, the camera quality is fabulous and applications are easy to use. Once you get the hang of having no buttons its a breeze! Fast download speed and browsing is simple. The best touch screen I have sampled, easy to use and understand!
overall a really good phone, and looks stylish too
This phone is strange to use at first but once it has been used a few times is great. Good features, bluetooth and 3g, the only problem is that if you dont like to use predictive text, its tough because it comes on automatically and you have to change this everytime, but its easy to get used to after a while. overall a really good phone, and looks stylish too.

The only problem is the flip case you get with it
Brilliant phone that I received for christmas. My first touchphone so taken a little time to get used to and still discovering things about it now. The only problem is the flip case you get with it, people can't hear you clearly when speaking so I need to find a different case for this phone.
access fast and display features are clear
A cool phone that is easy to use. I like the speeddial for the top 9 numbers. A clear screen with a vibrant feel factor. This phone has cool ringtones and music. The phone directory is a scroll down feature that you can access fast and display features are clear.
I made a great choice when choosing this phone as my upgrade
I recently chose this mobile as an upgrade from the Samsung U600. At first I found it difficult to use as I have never really used a touch screen mobile before..I have always used buttons.
However, after a few days I got used to it and I now think it is a great design. I love the look of the phone - it is smart yet sexy. The appearance is very striking and although some people might say it is a 'copy' of the iPhone, I think its very original.
It also has a lot of great features. The 5.0 megapixel camera is amazing. It works just as well as a normal digital camera so there is no need to worry if you forget your camera on a night out!
There was only one game on my phone when I brought it (which, to be honest isnt very impressive) but its very simple to purchase extra games, and I think they cost around £4.50 for the full game - dont quote me on that though!!
Due to the phone being a touch screen the main screen can get a bit smudged with a lot of finger marks on it but overall I love this phone and I think I made a great choice when choosing this phone as my upgrade.

It freezes and when I make or recieve calls on it
This phone is a good invention, the principles of the phone is amazing although I have had so many faults and problems with this phone. It freezes and when I make or recieve calls on it, it either cuts off or cuts the other person off. The signal on it is very poor but this could be a network and individual handset issue.
Great phone, would buy again or recommend
Nice big screen for texts and display your pictures. Camera is 5m. pix so great quality pictures. The phone is great, enjoy the ability to scroll down your contacts or pictures. The text takes a while to get used to but after a few its no different. The display does freeze at times but its only a flick of the hold button and then its back to normal. Great phone would buy again or recommend.
Used other touch screen phones, and this is the best
Well done Samsung, a light thin design fits great in your pocket, a very clear screen. Used other touch screen phones, and this is the best. Very easy to use, and quick to connect to your pc. Comes with a flip cover to protect the screen, very handy.
I will not be in a hurry to trade this phone in.

Only problem I'm having now is my handset keeps freezing
At first when I got my phone I thought it was absolutely brilliant, everyone loved it and once I figured out how to text people it was brilliant (much better than some other touch screens).
Only problem I'm having now is my handset keeps freezing - this is also happening to one of my friends who has the same phone as me - the phone will not allow you to use any of the functions.
Also, recently the phone has not allowed me to make calls, it looks like it is about to dial/ring but it doesn't and just cuts off even with full strength signal. This only happens on occasions but still other phones I've had have worked perfectly.
when I transferred the files to my laptop they were the poorest quality ever
I have used the camcorder feature this weekend for the first time, but was very disappointed to find that when I transferred the files to my laptop they were the poorest quality ever. I could not even make out the people in the videos. They were fuzzy and grainy and I would never use this feature again.
Amazing 5.0 MP Camera, other features lacking though, overall good.
Overall this phone is very aesthetically pleasing, you're bound to recieve compliments when seen with this phone. The outer appearance of it is very well finished and sleek, and is often mistaken for an iPhone. However the features on the phone (except for the 5mp camera) aren't as amazing, The texting is awkward, and there is a lack of games and internal memory. However all in all, a good phone.

no qualms and I would highly recommend it to anyone
Sexy looking phone, I found it very easy to use. It takes a little while to get used to texting but apart from that I have no qualms and I would highly recommend it to anyone. Very easy to use, and has all the features you would expect from a modern touch screen phone.
I have experienced real problems with it since having acrylic nails done
Hard to use the touch scree unless you have very tiny fingers. I have experienced real problems with it since having acrylic nails done for Xmas. I constantly miss the space button and come out of the text I was creating. Good sound and images. Miss the smileys as they are not available. Scrolling down the page can also be a bit difficult.
it is a bit more difficult than your average phone
I really like the look of this phone and once you get the hang of finding how to get to the number/letter keyboard working it isn't too difficult to use.
However, I do find it hard sending a quick text - it is a bit more difficult than your average phone with actual buttons and as there is a bit of heat involved don't try and press the virtual keyboard with gloves on.
That said it is a smart looking phone, lightweight and slim so it will fit into your pocket/handbag with ease. It has a good camera on it and basic features you would expect from new mobile phone, calculator, alarm etc.
Would I get a phone like this again? Possibly not although I have only had it two months into an 18 month contract so by then I might possibly be a whizz on it.

problems with it dropping the signal for making and receiving calls
I have had my Samsung Tocco since July and from the start I have had problems with it dropping the signal for making and receiving calls.
My last two phones were Samsung and I never had any problems with the signal, I got in touch with Samsung and they were very helpful, they said it was a software problem and I am taking it to the Carphone Warehouse to get a software update, I will let you know how I get on, I hope it works.
had none of the problems that I have read in any of the earlier reviews
Best phone I have ever had, flexible usage, great looking, easiest Samsung to text on (that I have had anyway) I love it! The handy flap to cover the handset is a good idea. The camera is excellent with good picture quality, I have had none of the problems that I have read in any of the earlier reviews.
an excellent camera that gives crisp and clear images
This is a stunning phone to look at with an excellent camera that gives crisp and clear images, even while taking photos at night-time. The only thing I find difficult is the touch-keys, which takes a bit of getting used to while texting. Overall a lovely phone.

I'm a gadget person and this phone just hits the spot
I have had this phone for just a week and it is fab, it is sleek and fully touch screen. I am a bit of a gadget person and this phone just hits the spot. It was my first Samsung phone but I was able to send a text make a call and add contacts to my phonebook without loooking at the userguide which I thought was awesome.
The one downside was having the screen against my ears for a call activated some of the features until I figured out that the hold button sorted this out.
Overall a fine looking, easy to use phone.
A great looking little touch screen phone. Fairly basic in functionality, but the touch screen is very responsive and gives vibration feedback when touched.
The 'Widget' is pretty useless as not every application can be added. Disappointed with the camera quality (5Mp), but it does what I expect from a phone camera. I use a proper camera to take photos.
supposedly a competitor for the iPhone
This is a really good phone that is supposedly a competitor for the iPhone. Whether this is capable of competing with the iPhone is another matter. The MP3 player is poor and would need to be a lot better to replace my iPod. The touch screen is very good and ensures that the phone is fairly easy to use, though texting can occasionally be difficult.

get some sort of case for it, because it looks very easily scratched
A great phone, very easy to use. Always been a Samsung user and this definitely is one of their better phones, for once, it has a decent battery life.
If you're not using the leather flap supplied, definitely get some sort of case for it, because it looks very easily scratched.
this is a very stylish little mobile phone
This phone is really nice looking, very sleek and smart. The usability is nigh on excellent. I originally questioned having a touch screen, but it is very easy to use, taking little time to adjust to the new style.
However, my one draw back is the extent of the features. When you compare to the Apple iphone, the Tocco doesn't come close. However, the flip protective case that comes with the Tocco is much better than any I have come across for the iPhone. All in all, this is a very stylish little mobile phone.
lots to play with and Samsung have an excellent support site for members
I was offered this phone on a very good contract from 3. I didnt know much about it other than it was touchscreen.
The screen is very sensitive and easily locked with time limits. It offers mumerous alarms that can be set at different times on certain days. The widget function is excellent, and you can drag and drop on the main screen with a finger, lots to play with and Samsung have an excellent support site for members.

everything you need inc organiser, excellent camera, good music player
Really good phone, I found it similar to the iPhone, it has everything you need including organiser, excellent camera, good music player. At first was different to use as all touchscren without stick, however becomes much easier in time.
It took me about three months to discover how to use my bluetooth, was complex. I had two Tocco's the first one I had to take back as it kept freezing and when it did decide to work it would all go very fast as I had pressed to many buttons.
Overall I really like this phone and I would recommend it for all. It also comes with a protective flip cover which is great and prevents scratches.
If you want to play games through touchscreen its not ideal
When I first saw this phone I thought it was a sexy ladies phone, nice and slim and was the latest in technology with touchscreen.
I only had the phone for a week and decided to change,
if you are just looking for a basic phone that makes calls and text then this is ok for you. It did not have many features to play around with and as for the 5mp camera it was very gritty and only clear in daylight, I have had 3.2 mp which take better pictures.
The touchscreen is excellent I must say as it gives you a good feel of contact and is sensitive to touch. If you want to play games through touchscreen its not ideal, its very fiddly same as when you make calls and need to change to loudspeaker or to numeric buttons.
fantastic phone for those that like the iPhone but want to record videos
This is a fantastic phone for those that like the iPhone but want to record videos. Also good if you have kids that like to play with the phone - the hold button means you can lock the touchscreen and prevent any accidental calls. The phone is simple to navigate and easy to understand - no searching for features as they are all logically organised, a top mobile from Samsung.

sound quality when listening to phonecalls, songs and the radio is amazing
I have always had a Nokia phone, but recently changed my contract and my phone for the Samsung Tocco Pink. It really is easy to use, manage and the sound quality when listening to phonecalls, songs and the radio is amazing.
The camera part of the phone is excellent and has provided me with some amazing spur of the moment pictures and videos which are saved automatically so no chance of loosing them.
The touch button screen, I thought would be a problem but not at all, I have never had a problem with it and I have now had it for 4 months. Its stylish, fits very comfortably into your pocket or handbag and works very well.
lack features as it uses a custom Samsung operating system
Nice, slim touch-screen phone. However, although the phone looks great externally and has cool graphics (like rotating screens), it does lack features as it uses a custom Samsung operating system. This means there are very few applications supported apart from some Java based ones.
The usability could also be a bit improved. Texting can be a bit annoying too unless you have really skinny fingers. Overall though, it is quite a decent phone and does it's main job okay.
good ideas but unfortunately some of them need more depth
This is a great phone, its easy to use once used to, it looks nice, has a bright clear screen that is very big and is built very well. It has some good ideas but unfortunately some of them need more depth, such as the widgets which are very limited and cannot have any extra created by the user.
The battery life is pretty good and the signal is fine, texting etc is a little fidgety like all touch screens. The only real bad point is the sound quality whilst talking could be better, but all in all this a really good phone that could be a brilliant phone if some of the features were "plumped up".

familiarize yourself with all the features its fantastic and really clear
This phone takes a few days to get used to but when you familiarize yourself with all the features its fantastic and really clear.
Really easy for text messaging and phone calls alike, fantastic phone. Also really good if you have an internet add on, fast bowever but one drawback is that with it being so new its not compatible with all downloads yet so always best to check this out first.
loved the design, the colour which is pink and its leather flip over cover
My wife as just upgraded her mobile phone to the Samsung F480 Tocco. Her old mobile phone was a Nokia, she change her Nokia because of water damage.
When she first got the F480 she fell in love with it, loved the design, the colour which is pink and its leather flip over cover, it also has a great camera. She was ok with the touchscreen until she decided to have false finger nails, now its a problem to text, she just cant do it with long nails. So this isnt one for the ladys with long nails!
calls, texting and taking pictures and it is great for all these needs
I definitely recommend this phone, I was dubious at first as I have never owned a touchscreen phone before and at first I did find it difficult to use, but within a week it was like I had always owned one. I mainly use it for calls, texting and taking pictures and it is great for all these needs especially taking pictures due to the 5.0 megapixel camera.

stylish and an all-round brilliant mobile phone
Lovely, stylish and an all-round brilliant mobile phone, I enjoy showing it to everyone. It has a good camera and a sleek stylish look. It has everything you need at the touch of a button. The touch pad just adds to its brilliance as it is quick and does exactly what you press.
previously owned the LG Viewty, this beats it hands down for features
This is the best mobile phone I have ever owned, having previously owned the LG Viewty, this beats it hands down for features, usability and speed of applications. Not to mention the quality of the camera (excellent and includes image stabiliser), the sound quality of the mp3 player and a decent web browser.
Finally, a decent phone and battery in a high spec phone aswell, mine is lasting 7 days with medium to high usage. All in all, the only 2 reasons that I haven't given this 5/5 is there is always something that can be better on the next model, in this case I would have liked to see a camera with a shutter to stop it getting scratched and you cant view your images totally full screen which is a little annoying given the quality of the screen.
an excellent phone with great features and brilliant camera
Really pleased with this phone, thought I'd get fed up with the touchscreen when the novelty wore off but have got used to it and find it easy to use. Only drawback is the software for my PC is hard to install as Windows doesn't like it very much. Overall an excellent phone with great features and brilliant camera.

large screen, quick response on touch, 5.0 megapixel camera
Good points, large screen, quick response on touch, 5.0 megapixel camera, battery life approximately 4 days with average use.
Bad points, SMS text size is huge this can be changed, but I am yet to find how it can be saved at a smaller size, call log is a pain to cycle through. Could do with clasp so cover does not flap about.
Samsung have greatly improved the touchscreen and its easy to use
Slim, stylish, modern feel to a great phone, I was worried about the touchscreen especially after my E900 experience. But Samsung have greatly improved the touchscreen technology and its easy to use. This phone is the best I have ever owned and will rival iPhone.
Gives the iPhone a good run for it's money
Gives the iPhone a good run for it's money with it's sleek design and touchscreen interface, combined with all of the usual Samsung features. The cover for the screen included is a great idea and the expandable memory gives lots of scope for using it as an MP3 and camera.

very stylish however the phone does have a few drawbacks
This phone is very easy to navigate and use. The touch screen design is very stylish however the phone does have a few drawbacks. I personally think the camera facility is good in conditions where the light is decent however in darker situations the flash can be too bright and over expose the image.
The video camera doesn't uses the flash but generally in low light conditions e.g. at gigs where the subject is a distance away it doesn't enable the image to be recorded well.
With regards to the actual phone functions the touch screen causes problems when using automated services as the numbers on screen don't have the letters on therefore on calls where you need to enter password info this is very difficult. Also the screen locks itself to prevent you accidentally pressing buttons which is very frustrating.
Overall this phone is good if you want a good looking phone. It's easy to learn how to do things and seems to be quite robust. I would recommend this unless you do a job where the screen would get overly dirty/damaged.
a worthy contender to Apple's iPhone
Sleek, chic and high tech, this is one of the best mobiles I have ever had. Easy to use touch screen makes texting and calling easy whilst the 5.0 megapixel camera is great for pictures. Internet connection is easy and the fm radio and music player rival that of any MP3 player on the market, a worthy contender to Apple's iPhone
Samsung Tocco F480, probably the best phone on the market
I recently purchased the Samsung Tocco F480, it is an excellent phone. The phone is slim, it has a touch screen and it is fairly easy to use. There are loads of features on the phone which enables you to do loads of things. Overall I would say its probably the best phone on the market.

Style over substance - but it does look so good
A great looking phone that is surprisingly easy to use given the relatively small touch screen. However it is let down somewhat by the lack of a few key features and some other issues.
The photo preview is very low quality despite the actual image quality when downladed being fine. The phone includes a front camera lens but is only used in video calling (and who really uses that)and the display does not flip between horizontal and vertical.
So overall the phone is style over substance - but it does look so good.
Sound quality could be improved on hansdfree speaker
Lovely looking phone, great features, cant beat this phone for style, small and lightweight too.
It is a bit difficult to use as its pure touchscreen which sometimes has a mind of its own and the sound quality isnt very good especially on handsfree or speaker phone.
