good phone with good features, can be frustrating at times though
It has a good camera, on which decent photographs can be taken, but the camera needs to be very still in order to get a good shot or it will come out blurry.
The touch sensitive buttons are a little awkward to use as if you accidentally lightly touch it, wrong things happen and suddenly you could be making a phone call or you may close down an application that you were using.
The design of the phone is very sleek, especially when shut. The numbers can be a bit tricky to use, especially if you have big fingers as different numbers can get pressed.
Overall, it is a good phone with good features, yet is not for a person who has a short temper when things go wrong.
an all round great mobile phone that isn't to expensive
The Samsung E900 is a sleek and stylish sliding mobile phone in a glossy black finish with multi touch buttons. The phone is packed with many features, such as Bluetooth, MP3 playback, video playback, a 2.0 mega pixel camera and a bunch of free games with lots of memory and room to expand. This is an all round great mobile phone that isn't to expensive.
The handset itself is very sturdy but the menu tended to be over sensitive
The phone was very sensitive to touch and tended to jump backwards or go back to the main menu when scrolling through different options. The handset itself is very sturdy and has withstood being dropped and knocked quite a fair few times. very user friendly.
Excellent photos outdoors, but indoors they can be quite blurry.
If your not used to a touchscreen, it may take a while to get used to this phone. It is able to take excellent photos outdoors, but indoors they can be quite blurry. If you planning to have this phone for over 6 months, it can become slow, which can be frustrating. Plus it doesn't have radio. Apart from these, however, it is a good phone.
No plans to upgrade it any time soon, perfect
This phone is perfect for everyday use, it has all the features you could ever require and more. The design is sleek and sophisticated and fits easily into a pocket.
The only negative comment I have is that you cant have an MP3 file as a message tone and you are limited to one of the preset tones on the phone.
I have had this phone for over a year and have experienced no problems with it at all. The touch keys were weird to get used to at first but now they are fine and easy to use.
I would highly recommend this phone to anyone and I have no plans to upgrade it any time soon.
Now using it with a Tom Tom as hands free
A good phone, easy to use, good battery life and useful features. Now using it with a Tom Tom as hands free. If you have very big fingers the buttons would be difficult to use. Software for use with computer is good and easy to download information to and from phone. Overall very pleased
The touchscreen can be rather annoying
This is a good phone, it looks nice and is relatively easy to use, however the touchscreen can be rather annoying as it sometimes has a mind of its own, you can be half way through writing a text message and it just cuts off. I think its more of a show phone than a practical phone.
Good features, trendy design and easily transfers files to PC
At first this mobile is a little difficult to use due to the touch screen buttons. I found myself hanging up on quite a few people by mistake.
It is a really trendy design and alot of people commented on the appearance of the phone. As it is a slide - screen phone I was never worried about buttons being hit by accident whilst the phone was in my pocket.
This model features good sound quality with its built in MP3 player. I got mine with a USB cable also which allowed me to put on music and transfer photos to my laptop.
The camera is superb for a phone of this price. It also has extra settings to change it to sepia, black and white etc.
Phone lasted less than 6 months then I had to get it fixed at least twice
I don't know about other Samsung models but I know I will never have another Samsung phone in this lifetime. The phone lasted less than 6 months then I had to get it fixed at least twice.
After all that it apparently had water damage (never got it wet so I have no idea how that happened).
Looks fancy with nice features, video, camera, ringtones, etc, but overall its not good quality, doesnt seem durable at all.
ok but I believe there are better phones on the market
This phone is ok but I believe there are better phones on the market now. The E900 has great usability and its features are ok but I think they are pretty average. It has a nice sleak design overall and fits nicely into my pocket. I have had this phone for a while now and I,m probably due an upgrade but I would still stick with a Samsung.
Camera is great and the MP3 player is good quality
I've had this phone since the end of 2006 and I have not had any problems with it at all. If you are looking for a phone that lasts forever this is probably it! The features were easy to use. Texting is easy, the camera is great and the MP3 player is good quality sound! I love my phone!
The Samsung E900 meets all my of needs
The Samsung E900 is a great phone, it meets all my of needs and I am quite happy with it. It has built in camera and a video, is very stylish looking and so far it has not given me any problems, it slides open and has a glossy black finish. Although it has not got many games, I believe it is good value for money
Touch screen function is just to sensitive
The E900 looks really good, very stylish and a good size but the touch screen function is just to sensitive as it always cancels when you are in the middle of texts or when you want to listen to music and take pictures. It also only takes about an hour to charge which also lasts me about a week
Games and music features are brilliant
I find that most of the time the touch screen feature causes me to cancel off an entire text or call without me wanting to do so. Other than that the games and music features are brilliant and most of the time I can hear it pefectly well when it rings, camera is brilliant.
I love this phone and will be sad when I have to get rid of it
The heat sensitive buttons can be hard to get used to, especially when trying to operate the phone whilst wearing gloves, but once you've got used to them you'll wonder how you've managed with conventional buttons for so long!
As with most Samsung's, you can't personalise text/multimedia message tones but only choose from a list of about 10-20 which is quite annoying, but call tones are completely customisable.
The MP3 player is useful, but you can only add a certain amount of songs (~15?) to a playlist to listen to so although you can add loads of songs if you use a memory card, you can't listen to all of them randomly, which I like to do with my MP3 player, you are also limited to a few playlists.
Given that, I love this phone and will be sad when I have to get rid of it.
Lightweight, slim and nice looking, Camera quality poor though
The camera function isnt great, it doesnt hold much memory, but it is lightweight, slim and nice looking.
Touch screen is a nice feature but it isnt all touch, its good to have the option of buttons too.
When listening to music from its speakers it is quite quiet.
Good points:-
A sleek and robust slide action handset
2 megapixel camera with flash
Decent memory capacity (80 Mb plus memory card)
Easy to use menu
Bad points:-
Navigation can be difficult as touch screen is very senstive.
No silent function.
