The only downside of this phone is its camera
The Samsung C3050 is good value phone if you just need a mobile phone only to make calls or send text messages etc. Nice design, slides smoothly, screen is just right, very handy and light to carry as its slim. Has radio as well which is nice when your bored. The only downside of this phone is its camera which is a VGA camera, very poor quality pictures and videos.
The only downside is the camera quality
Simple but functional phone, great for people who are not too fussed about apps or special features. Maybe as a first phone or for people who just simply want to make calls. Smart design, nice and slim and very easy to use. The only downside is the camera quality, not very clear, but viewable. Great choice for those on a budget
Is great value for money, looks far more expensive than it actually is
Looks great and not all that hard to use. Is great value for money, looks far more expensive than it actually is. I have always liked Samsung phones, and have tried other makes but always go back to Samsung. On the downside there is no direct USB connection. Otherwise I think it is well worth the money.
Menu is pretty straightforward once you know where you want to go.
Nice looking phone, looks more expensive than it actually is. Menu is pretty straightforward once you know where you want to go. Took me a while to suss out changing ringtones etc without properly studying the instruction sheet.
On the downside, working it one handed, it doesnt slide open easily and without getting a big squidgy thumb print on the screen!! you also get an achey thumb trying to bend in to reach 3,6,9 keys for texting. Overall, it's good value for money and a perfect price for a more functions starter phone. I am more than happy to buy this phone for my older kids.
MP3 player is useless because it can't play from the memory card
Nice design and good for simple calls, but MP3 player is useless because it can't play from the memory card. Headset has a non-standard jack, can't link to USB and occasionally have poor quality.
My last phone, a Motorola did me well for 4 years. After 2 months, I'm already sick of this phone and shopping around for another.
Good for very simple things like occasional calling
It takes a really long time for the phone to dial when you call people, sometimes it works quickly but other times even with full signal it just spends ages saying 'dialling' so long in fact the screen saver turns on and the phone gives up.
It has limited ringtones and I have yet to find out how to set it on vibrate for texts as it's not on the same menu as call ringtones. It doesn't come with a usb to the computer and you also need a memory card to put music on.
Good for very simple things like occasional calling but not good for the extra's or texting.
perfect for everyday use
In my opinion this phone is perfect for everyday use, its durable and really simple to use. I'm a real technophobe and not really interested in new technology but this has brought me forward to the 21st century. In my view the menus are very clear to understand and have good quality colour and sound. I have recently purchased this phone for my father and if he can understand it anyone can.
keeps turning itself off and the battery life is terrible
Really liked this phone when I bought it a couple of months ago but now find it keeps turning itself off and the battery life is terrible. Also find texting infuriating with predictive text, have always had Samsung phones and really loved them, seems they are compromising on quality. Think this will be my last.
managed to get to grips with this in less that 24 hours
I have used Motorola phones for years, but they didn't have any on the O2 website when I was looking. I wanted a simple basic phone, with bluetooth, to replace my old phone, which finaly died last week.
The only feature I really wanted was bluetooth so it could talk to my car's built in hands free system. I find small technological devices quite scary, most of them have way too much technology and features I just don't use. I never quite got the hang of all the features on my old phone.
I have managed to get to grips with this in less that 24 hours and it is so simple to use handsfree and the external features are straighforwards without sliding it open too.
I have even managed to download the software to integrate it with my PC, so will be able to use the diary and organiser features - can't usually manage this as I'm not a competent texter and I don't do txt-speak. I'm very pleased with it.
Limited ringtones, but that isn't a bad thing, it has an old fashioned ringtone that suits me just fine.
definitely recommend it for the money
Excellent phone for the money. Camera ok if you want a basic camera quality but what do you expect for under £30. Other features similar to camera's costing £20 to £30 more. Camera looks well built and I would definitely recommend it for the money. Battery life not bad either.
cost a tenth of my last Nokia and does everything I need
For the price, it is a superb phone. It cost a tenth of my last Nokia and does everything I need from a phone at least as well. I don't have any problems with the camera, I use a SLR for important shots so it's good enough for ad-hoc use.
Using the features is simple but limited ringtones and lack of volume (I'm frequency deaf) is niggling. good job it vibrates! My wife has one too now after unsuccessfully fighting me for mine. I think I'll stick with Samsung.
There is no hassle with doing the basics
Its a brilliant, simple phone. There is no hassle with doing the basics, like texting and making calls. The camera isn't as good as expected, however, for it's price, you cannot complain about anything. There are no extra complicated features... just a great phone that does everything you would expect it to do. I would recommend this phone to anybody.
for the price a fantastic all rounder
I bought the C3050 as my Sony Ericcson keeps freezing. As a long standing Sony user I am more than happy to keep the Samsung, it's light and easy to use. Some really good features like the large clock and various other playthings. If I have one downside its that there are not many ringtones or message tones to choose from but for the price a fantastic all rounder.
good positive slide and stable keyboard and bright screen
I bought a Samsung C3050 as an emergency replacement phone after my usual Sony C905 blew up on me, but I liked the C3050 so much I have kept it for the past three months.
It's a well designed and very light handset, good positive slide and stable keyboard and bright screen. Camera very basic, but the home screen and big time display, as well as the very fast boot-up time, make this a real discovery and a good children's phone or back up phone.
only letdown in my eyes being no direct USB connection capability
Brilliant phone for someone on a budget, or for beginners. Plenty of features, good speakers, battery life seems good so far. A lot of people have said the camera is a let-down, unfortunately, this is true, but it's still a good camera. The camera lense is the most expensive part of a phone, so they had to cut it down to size.
I think this is a brilliant all-rounder phone, the only letdown in my eyes being no direct USB connection capability.
