Samsung B3210 Genio QWERTY Reviews

The Samsung B3210 Genio QWERTY is the latest attempt by Samsung to provide a colourful alternative solution to BlackBerry devices to the youth market, where messaging services are growing at a phenomenal rate. Offering a full QWERTY keyboard, the Genio QWERTY is a funky, compact device that will appeal to people who like their technology to be an expression of their personality. As with most Corby devices, the Genio B3210 includes fashion jackets which make it as easy as changing the back cover to change the look of the phone. The B3210 supports multiple email accounts as well as instant messaging, and includes a 2.0 Megapixel camera for capturing those fun moments. Media is well supported, and there is also an FM radio with RDS support.

It is by far the best I have owned
Like a Blackberry, the design of the Samsung Genio (known as the Corby outside of Europe) is slim yet chunky. Looking at the image, you may think it is slightly small. It is! It fits into the phone sock supplied with the LG Chocolate!
Why Did I Buy It?
I was looking for a new phone - I thought my E250 was out of fashion, and I was becoming a heavy texter. Also, I thought a Qwerty keypad was cool! I looked at numerous model: some by Alcatel, others by LG. The reason I settled for the Genio Qwerty was because of the change-able covers and bright features.
Setting It Up:
I used my old sim, so I had my contacts etc. However, after around half an hour of use and only a quick scanning of the user manual, I had my hone up-and-running.
Features:
By far my favorite feature is the Fake Call. It's really simple and believable. Remember the days when you would set an alarm and say your friend was calling? Well, now you can make it real! You can record a voice to play, as if speaking in reply. You should set a shortcut and by clicking on it you can activate your fake call - the ringtone with play and you should accept or decline.
I've heard about other games on the phone, as it varies depending on your supplier. I got a Bejewled Demo, A Sims3 demo and a Tetris Demo - enough to satisfy me!
Connection:
Unfortunately for me, there was no USB cable supplied. However, with Bluetooth, a build-in feature, this isn't really required!
Personalise:
There are so many options - three different themes, four different fonts... You can add your five favourite contacts to your Buddy List. The preset opening for this is the down button. The contact must be saved to your phone, not sim.
Text:
You may be worried that you won't get the hang of the keypad quick enough, but you will. If you are good with typing on a computer, it will come naturally to you. The buttons are not to close together, and you will not have to use your nail - your finger will do! However, be careful of pressing the accept/decline call buttons rather than the select ones, at first.
I love this phone. It is by far the best I have owned, and is sure to last me another few years. I would say this over the Genio Touch (which is usually retailed at the same price) and if you haven't got the extra money to spend on the Blackberry, iPhone or Genio Slide, this will do more than cover you until you've saved enough!
I love to text so this was perfect
Best Phone I have had so far!
I wanted to get the Blackberry Curve but that was too exspensive, I have always loved Samsung most of my phones are from them, and I was really excited about getting this phone!
I love to text so this was perfect, I also love to go on Facebook so I went for a pay monthly package from the Carphone Warehouse. I got the white version but I bought some cool backs off Amazon to replace the boring white one. The yellow one does look snazzy and you get 4 free backs that come with but that was only on pay as you go.
I love the design, it fits in your hand perfectly and the keys are quite easy to use but they are a bit stiffer then some other phones. The phone is also made of plastic which can be taccy but I didn't mind that. I found it easy to use, they also give you a game which helps you get used to the keys.
The only bad points I had is that the battery can be a bit short but not by much and the internet can be a bit slow but apart from that everything else was great. I really love this phone, I would recommend it to anyone, any age and to people that want to have a qwerty keyboard but are on a budget.
One of the best purchases I have made in a long a time
I have always been a big fan of Samsung. This phone is no exception. This is the QWERTY version so is excellent for texting and emails. I use it for texting which is why I went for a QWERTY type phone.
The keys are well designed so you only press one key at a time unlike some phones where pressing a key actually means that all the others keys in the vacinity are also pressed. Very useful for someone like me who has big clumsy fingers.
The phone has a very nice smooth feel about it. Both in design of the actual phone and the software that runs the phone. The navigation button is very smooth which is a plus point. It has a very good camera on it which will take the usual still picture as well as a digital camcorder. You can access the internet if you desire as well. It's complete with a MP3 player.
The battery life is very good although if you are going to use the features like bluetooth, MP3 player and camcorder then the life of the battery will be reduced. Leaving it on standby gave me about a week before it need recharging. Complete with a nice colourful screen too.
If I had one gripe about it, it is the fact that the "connect call" and "disconnect call" are next to the "back" and "select" buttons. On the phone's screen the options for menu and select marry up with the connect call and disconnect call on the keypad. Therefore when I intend to make a selction on the screen, instead of pressing the select button I end up presssing the call button instead. It's not a major issue just a little gripe.
On the whole I am very impressed with this phone. It cost me £70 from Orange and it came with a load of freebies too; the best being a set of skull candy head-phones. One of the best purchases I have made in a long a time. It was well worth the £70 even without the freebies. I think me and the Genio B3210 are going to be very happy together.
I enjoy using the keyboard, its a good invention and so easy to use
I really like the genio it's a great phone with great features. I enjoy using the keyboard, its a good invention and so easy to use although the keys are small. When you have the phone for more than an hour you get used to it so quickly, Well done Samsung.
