overall its a pretty good phone, got lots of features and a good camera
I found it to be a bit slow, especially when you start to fill it up with photos and when you have alot of txt messages saved on it. The buttons are a bit too small for txting etc but overall its a pretty good phone, got lots of features and a good camera.
Not like some of the more modern mobiles that seem to break every 5 minutes
Looks worn very quickly but offers good functionality. If you are used to using Nokia handsets, this model will be a piece of cake to use.
The camera is average and the phone is fairly bulky, but it has all the standard features and is not like some of the more modern phones that are too complicated to use and seem to break every five minutes, a good solid phone.
Handy, functional but also temperamental
Handy and functional but rather temperamental and prone to unexpected breakdowns which can cause big hassles. Picture quality ok but could be better connection to pc, overall though good phone that I would probably recommend to others
Great features, excellent OS but poor build quality
I have owned the Nokia N70 for a couple of years, on the Three network. Being a Smartphone the feature set is good -- it runs SatNav well (once the firmware is updated to the latest version), and the Nokia software is comprehensive and stable. The phone's receiver is also very sensitive, frequently managing a good signal where other phones are struggling to get any signal at all (on the same network).
However, the N70 can be very slow -- especially at startup. It can take an age for pictures to load (which really shouldn't be an issue for a 2006 phone!!). Speaking of pictures, for a 2MP camera the pictures are very poor -- grainy, poor focusing and useless in dim light. But the worst part of the phone is the mains adaptor -- it is a very thin plug, which has broken a couple of times (requiring a new charger), and now the socket on the base of the phone needs re-soldering due to a broken intermittent contact. I've been forced to buy an external charger to stop the phone from packing in entirely.
To summarise -- great features, excellent OS, high sensitivity and stability but slow and poor build quality.
These faults seem typical of the current Nokia range from what I have seen -- others report similar faults with the 72, 90, 95 etc. Sums up Nokia really -- innovative, but flawed and poor build quality against the Japanese and Korean competition. Shame really.
Best moby I have had to date
I have found the N70 to be the best moby I have had to date, and boy have I had some a sorry ones in the past.
On the plus side is the large display, very clear and easy for me to see as I am getting a bit short of lamp oil these days. Bags of memory to use, ie Photos and tracks etc. The menu is a breeze to use. It is a nice weight, just enough to let you know it is still with you when its in your pocket.
On the down side are size of the keys and the letters on them, but hey I am on the way to using a white stick anyway.
I would still recommend one if asked
