Nokia E72 Reviews

The Nokia E72 is the natural upgrade to one of the most popular Nokia E Series devices to date, the Nokia E71. Virtually every request from E71 owners has been granted. With the E72 Nokia retain all that was good about the E71; The E72 remains a pocketable, thin QWERTY enabled messaging device, offering easy access to email on the move. Improvements include an upgraded camera, now offering 5.0 Megapixels with autofocus and LED flash, and improved firmware, with the E72 now running S60 FP2 with improved menu navigation and clearer, brighter menu icons. The menu shortcut keys have a more manageable layout and overall look less cluttered, and overall gives the E72 a better style and design.
I'm now onto my second faulty unit
Doesn't hold charge, keypad unresponsive, email doesn't work...shall I go on?
I've used Palm phones, Windows phones, Blackberries etc. The Nokia E61 was the first phone that worked the way I wanted it to. The E71 improved on this...but the E72 has ruined it all.
I'm now onto my second faulty unit. Charge only lasts 3 or 4 hours - that's with notification light off, WLAN scanning off - only thing active is Mail for Exchange. Although MFE doesn't work anyway, so I suppose I could disable that as well to see if that helps battery life.
Keypad becomes unresponsive during incoming call - so I can't answer. Intermittently there is no ring tone for incoming call or text message - leading to lots of missed calls that I was unaware of.
Very disappointing phone!
fantastic social and business phone that exceeds my needs
I needed a phone with web and email access with an easy to use navigation system. I looked at Blackberry but they appeared to technical, E71 was first choice but then they released the E72, the decision was easy.
Only problem I have found was with AOL mail, not fully supported so changed to MSN live. No problems since, but time will tell. The keys are a bit close to the edge but bought a case to go round phone which has solved that issue.
Overall fantastic social and business phone that exceeds my needs. Nokia do it right with common sense access to programmes. I am going to upgrade memory card to 32GB so I can put a wider selection of music on it.
I found a software problem with integration of e-mails
I bought a new packed set a week ago with the warranty from Advance Mobile, but only after using it for 3 days I found a software problem with integration of e-mails, after trying so many times it didn't work.
Many other E72 users are having the same problem as reported on Nokia's site. Now I am back to my Blackberry, until Nokia provides new fault less software on their website to download for smooth running of e-mail setup or suggest to me another solution of the same.
Rest of it's features are excellent but it is much heavier than the Blackberry 8310 curve. Let's see how long it will take as there must be some more complaints on the way.
The qwerty keyboard makes replying to e-mails and texts swift and easy
I fancied getting a Blackberry but after a bit of research I decided to get the E72. I was happy with this as I have always been an avid Nokia Fan. The phone was so easy to set up and use, there was an automatic e-mail set up. My daughter has the Blackberry Storm 2 and we both found it a bit more complicated to set up than the E72.
The keys are small but very useable, but I would guess more difficult for a man with bigger fingers. The qwerty keyboard makes replying to e-mails and texts swift and easy. It also has a power saving mode when the battery is getting low but be aware this means it logs off the system so you'll not get any calls or e-mails until you pick the phone up and start using it.
I'm not a highly technical person so I don't use all the functions but for e-mails, texting, calls and camera its great.
qwerty keypad is easy to use, and the email facility is excellent
This phone is excellent. I have tried the Blackberry Bold 9700, and had to return it due to being faulty. I have had no problems at all with this phone. It feels more solid than the Blackberry, has a better camera, and is just as easy to use.
It is also more slimline than a Blackberry with a much longer lasting battery. The qwerty keypad is easy to use, and the email facility is excellent.
I cannot fault this phone at all.
would recommend this phone expecially if you are a texter
Fantastic phone, had it now for 3 days and love it. I only marked the usability down because the menu is so vast I have trouble remembering where to go to find things. A menu map would help but cannot find one anywhere so I guess I will have to sit down and make my own.
I would recommend this phone expecially if you are a texter like me, the qwerty keypad is amazing, small keys but they have a kind of dome in the centre. I can type with both thumbs easily. I have looked at qwerty keypads before but not found one I could use until now so go and treat yourself, its a great phone.
Best business smartphone I ever seen
Best business smartphone I ever seen. All the E71 problems solved in this phone, what else could a user want.
This phone really is far better than the much anticipated Blackberry latest models in terms of design, features and usability, I love it.
Optical scrolling key, this is something I was looking for long time. QWERTY keypad is bit small, not ideal for big fingers which we are seeing in most of the makes these days, have to pay the price somewhere for slim and small models.

Mobile phones are constantly being updated in a constantly evolving industry with huge demands. Where camera phones go up by the megapixel on a monthly basis and the next big feature just around the corner, it certainly can be confusing finding the right mobile phone.
Most handsets now could be classed as 'smart phones' based on where mobile phones were a few years ago with the current crop of buzz words - 3G, HSPDA, megapixel, social networking, apps, A-GPS and more. Thats why reading impartial user reviews is the best way of deciding what phone to buy next!
