web connection can be very slow and can be a bit infuriating at times
A good all round mobile phone, good build quality and pretty sturdy for a slide. Easy to use with the standard Nokia operating system. The web connection can be very slow and can be a bit infuriating at times, but thats the only real problem with what is all in all a good phone.
for the beardless amongst you this shouldn't be an issue
I was a little disappointed by this phone. It is aimed at, but not solely for business users and has numerous functions to aid them in everyday dealings.
But as a non-business user I ended up feeling that I had paid for a lot of unnecessary features(conference calling/group management to name a couple).
It did the basics very well, felt solid and sturdy. But my two biggest complaints are, why do Nokia insist on used painted plastic on top-end handsets, it chips and peels and looks cheap and nasty.
Also I have a beard (that's not my complaint) and whenever I made or received a call it would get caught in the handset by the keypad. Very painful and off-putting when trying to speak to someone.
Although, for the beardless amongst you this shouldn't be an issue.
would recommend this handset to anyone looking for value for money
The Nokia E65 is one of the best, inexpensive and lightweight smartphones (3G) in my opinion. The screen is large and has a nice resolution. The camera is alo easy to use and picture quality quite decent. It has a decent music playback system which is not as good as Sony W series but definitely worth considering. Overall I would recommend this handset to anyone looking for value for money.
smart when new but it doesn't take long for the phone to look 5 years old
The Nokia E65 overall is a pretty poor phone. On mine especially, the back and sides are peeling away due to it being covered in a black silicone/plastic material.
Also, this is probably also just mine, but the call button doesn't work most of the time so you have to type the number in key by key - it's a good job I have a good memory.
However, the picture quality is very good for a 2.0 megapixel camera, the video quality - not as good, but still ok. It looks smart when new but it doesn't take long for the phone to look 5 years old.
Other features including the use of the internet and music player are quite good. The sound quality is quite good too and loud enough for the average listener (if you like your music loud).
Overall it's a great phone and I would strongly reccomend it
The E65 is a stylish and slim phone which is small enough to fit in your shirt pocket but large enough not to be fiddly when using the keys.
The screen provides great quality images and is large enough to surf the web, download maps, etc. Sound quality is also excellent for calls and music alike.
Organisation of the features is a bit complex and sometimes trying to find a specific function is a lengthy process although, once found, you can add functions to the personal favourites area on the phone.
One small niggle, when sending SMS messages you have to go to the phone book to add recipients which can be irritating particularly when on the move. Overall it's a great phone and I would strongly reccomend it.
Now I can leave my actual camera at home now which is great
An excellent phone, the camera is fantastic compared with the last handset I had so now I can leave my actual camera at home now which is great (more space in my handbag). The only downside for some people may be its weight as it is heavier that others I've had, but I actually prefer my phones to feel substantial.
Should be considered if you need Wlan support and s60 with a decent price
Although the Nokia E series is exclusively targeted for business users, the E65 stands out with its elegant design and nice features that would attract all kinds of users.
Indeed, it lacks some of the features from N series, such as an internal GPS chip or N-gage compatibility, however these features are only required by phone enthusiasts.
It comes with Symbian s60 v3 software and includes both Wireless Lan and 3G support, so if you are looking for latest technology, you will be satisfied with E65. (But note that it lacks a front camera, so your video calls will only be one-sided.)
The phone is not perfect, of course. One of its drawbacks comes from its elegant design. Its skin is highly prone to scratches so you always need to use it with a cover (or with the pouch that comes with the phone). The nice thing about this problem is that Nokia accepts that this is a producer related fault, so you can always get your covers changed for free under warranty.
Rarely, you may also encounter keypad lights not lighting up. Again, this can be fixed under warranty, but of course you wouldn't expect such simple faults from an E series phone.
Overall, this is a nice phone and especially should be considered if you need Wlan support and s60 with a decent price. Other Nokia phones with Wlan either lack multimedia capabilities/cameras (E50) or are too expensive (N95/N96).
The response time to get through the menu can be up to 30 seconds
I was excited to get this phone, a slimline, Skype ready 3G phone by Nokia - a company who used to have the best mobile phones around and the simplest navigation system.
On no what a disaster, in it's attempt to be an all singing all dancing machine it has forgotten that what I need to do is make phonecalls and write text messages, the response time to get into a selection through the menu can be up to 30 seconds.
Also, it's a video phone but it only has one camera - on the back - this means you can look at the person who you are talking to and let them look at your feetor you can let them see you and you can't see them - design flaw? - I think so.
Buttons are easy to press and the sliding screen is a great design
The Nokia E65 is a great phone. I am a novice with mobile phones and this one has proved very easy to use. The buttons are easy to press and the sliding screen is a great design feature. I chose the red version and am delighted with it. Menus are easy to access and are catergorised sensibly. Recommended.
A stylish, sleek and simple to use mobile phone
The Nokia E65 is a stylish, sleek and simple to use mobile phone. The buttons are a decent size, and even though the phone is a slide phone, it is not a huge chunky phone. The features are very easy to use like most Nokia's, and it would suit both a beginner and expert user alike. I would highly recommend this phone to everyone.
