Nokia 6600i Reviews

Compact and good looking, the Nokia 6600i packs a big punch for a small phone. The handset is a capable product, with a little something for almost every user. The slide style 6600i catches the eye with its sleek looks and smooth design, and comes in the stylish colour options of silver or black. A 3G handset, with a 5.0 Megapixel camera, sporting autofocus and a dual LED flash, the 6600i slide captures video with both the main camera and also the front facing video call camera, too. Media support is extensive, with most popular music formats covered, and everything is presented in crisp clarity on the TFT display.
a very nice compact phone
Nice handy slide phone packed full of features. Quad phone, fm radio, mp3 player, handles upto 16Gb sd, 5mp cameras front and back, very good for both pictures and videos, bluetooth, WAP and internet connection.
Nice large 2 and 1/2 inch colour screen and easy menu to follow. Download many applications and also Nokia Maps. The keyboard is a bit small for my hands but I can still type and text quite easily.
Battery lasts for three days with a little use. I have now had it for about a month, its very similar to my old Samsung D900 with a shade more features. Outside signal strength is always good and voice very clear.
Overall a very nice compact phone that can be taken anywhere in the world.
Biggest issue for me is the lack of battery charge
Great looking phone, with lovely features. But I agree the black sleep screen is annoying and cannot seem to be amended.
Biggest issue for me is the lack of battery charge. Even with minimal use, the battery only seems to last 2-3 days. I just converted from a much older Samsung and this held its charge for significantly longer. Very disappointed with that and thinking of returning the phone, as am still in cooling-off period, and reverting back to a Samsung.
Would not recommend this phone; nice to look at, but inpractical.
quite simple to navigate but uncomfortable to use
Good looking phone, quite simple to navigate but uncomfortable to use.
I got the nokia 6600i as an upgrade. After testing it for an hour I feel it's not for me. I like things straight forward and comfortable, something I can use without being overly cautious.
If the look of the phone is what you are after it looks good, also has a rather nice camera if thats important to you. The menu is also quite simple to use.
Now for what I don't like. As a previous reviewer mentioned the screen going black too quickly, this is annoying. It is rather heavy for a small phone. The way it rests when texting makes it feel as if it will topple over and break due to weight of the large screen, area on one end and the small keypad area on the other. That said, its the 1st slide phone i've used so it might just be a generic slide phone issue.
It has a lot of metal so the battery heating up can be felt, not too good for any heated conversations, which brings me to the final point. I can't seem to find the loudspeaker/speakerphone key (if it exists) which does not help if you want to move the phone away from your ear quickly during use.
Personally I think the problem with simple phones wanting to look more like their complex counterparts spoils the experience and value of simplicity. So now I'll be considering an ancient phone for regular mobile phone use and if/when I need the web on my phone I'll purchase a real internet phone and not one of these 'wannabe' types.
features are good but four problems
All features are good. But four problems, the screen saver lasts 5 sec only, the screen goes black no matter what the settings of power saver or sleep mode, a little small for man's big palm and the buttons are too thin hence difficult to press. I wonder why problem 1 and 2 exist. If anyone can help, pls let me know.
especially like the double tap display mode
The 6600i is a pretty good all round phone, I especially like the double tap display mode. Smooth slide action and large screen. Excellent 5 megapixel camera, stores loads of photos due to the memory card (though video capture is not great).
Functions are really easy to navigate and though I am a new convert to slide phones, it is a great phone. My only complaint would be that the keypad is too small at 2.5cm to enable me to text with one hand.
I love everything about it
I got this phone as an upgrade from T-Mobile on 7th October 2009. I love everything about it - unfortunately instead of the old combi deal which gave me £34.00 between texts and calls, I am now on the Combi 15 with 100 txts & 100 calls. But for that I think this phone is GREAT and would recommend it.

Mobile phones are constantly being updated in a constantly evolving industry with huge demands. Where camera phones go up by the megapixel on a monthly basis and the next big feature just around the corner, it certainly can be confusing finding the right mobile phone.
Most handsets now could be classed as 'smart phones' based on where mobile phones were a few years ago with the current crop of buzz words - 3G, HSPDA, megapixel, social networking, apps, A-GPS and more. Thats why reading impartial user reviews is the best way of deciding what phone to buy next!
