more than happy with the style, durability, functions
I had an upgrade with this phone 4 months ago and have been more than happy with the style, durability, functions and find it easy to use. I have the black slide model and it looks very stylish - many people comment on this model. I tend to always go for Nokia's and based on this phone will continue to do so.
Once again another good phone from Nokia
Great phone, long battery life meaning no need to charge it every day. Good extra's like convertor and games, one down side though is if you don't lock the keypad you are quite likely to phone someone you don't mean to. I wasn't supplied with a memory card for the phone but not a bad thing. Once again another good phone from Nokia.
Looks good, good features, but the battery only lasts for two days for me
Bought this phone because its looks really great and has all the functionality you could want.
However, the battery only lasts for two days for me, it has been sent back for repair but I have been told it is fully working. This makes it totally useless to me given when I am able to charge it. My next phone, I'll be going back to a Sony Ericsson.
attractive and stylish, and very quick to use
The phone itself is attractive and stylish, and very quick to use, however three members of my family have this handset and the same faults always seem to occur.
The amount of times the phone freezes when you play music or attempt to text and the mysterious way you can loose signal and unless you turn it off for 5 hours, the signal dosnt come back and more so the most irritating, when you dont receive messages for days and all of a sudden you have like 10 missed calls and 20 texts. (*this could be a network issue)
Robust with a nice design, but perhaps lacking in features
Excellent simple design and easy to use, impressive, however features are lacking as it essentially is a repackaged N73. Had the phone for 3 months now and no problems so far, the picture quality could be better but the metal casing means it can take a bit of knocking around and not fall apart.
The Nokia 6500 Slide is a good buy
The Nokia 6500 slide has a good design with a range of features that helps to make this phone a good buy. Although it does seem to freeze at times if the phone is playing music and you recieve a text, whether this happens with all the Nokia handsets I,m not sure, may just be my handset, other than this the Nokia 6500 Slide is a good buy.
Easy to use, many features, can be enhanced further
A very business like phone, suitable for those who need to maintain a sleek and professional image. Easy to use, many features, can be enhanced further.
Slim and lightweight which can be good oviously but can make a product flimsy and easy to break, but yet neither happens with this mobile, yes you fear the worst if dropped but minimal damage, scratches but nothing major.
Overall a good little phone that I would not be without
Excellent phone, hardwaring, sturdy, does not feel tinny or cheap.
All the features are easy to use and the only problem I have with it is that the sound quality when making a call is poor - not an ideal feature of a phone, hence the slighly lower than excellent rating.
The software is easy to update and I have not had any problems with software crashes that have been reported elsewhere.
Overall a good little phone that I would not be without. I use it in a corporate environment for synchronising with diaries etc. For those of us who do not want to go down the Blackberry route it is a perfect office phone.
So simple to use and has all the functions needed on a mobile phone
The phone is very compact and so simple to use, it has all the functions needed on a phone, the obvious such as sms, mms and other features like email.
The phone is easy to navigate through the simple menu which takes you to things like the media player, gallery, organiser, applications and so on.
It sports a 3.2 megapixel camera with flash and there are many settings like sepia, negative etc. The phone overall is extremely good and well recommended
A very good phone with a couple of minor annoyances, recommended
I was really impressed with the Nokia 6500 slide. It looks great and has all the features you would expect from a mobile phone.
I particularly like the camera, which is excellent, and the number of messages it can store - 1700 and counting! Also, the music player is great - as good as if not better than the one Sony Ericsson offers. The customizable shortcut bar at the bottom of the home screen is a fantastic idea, too.
The main downside to the phone is that you can only set one alarm at a time. Also, you have to shut down each Java application in order to do anything else (for example, if I get a text whilst playing on a game, I can't read the text until I have exited the game).
There was a more serious problem with my phone - a month or so ago it stopped working properly. Every 2 minutes it would reset itself, and a number of people were not able to text or ring me (including my girlfriend!), but after about a week it just started working again and has been absolutely fine since.
All in all, a very good phone with a couple of minor annoyances. Definitely recommended.
Sound from the speaker is rather distorted at times
Good phone for a middle aged teacher who is trying to get street cred.
Easy to use as are all Nokia's, only thing which I find irritating is the sound from the speaker is rather distorted at times, previous phones have been a lot clearer. However, it is just a slight annoyance and nothing to put anyone off buying this model.
Headphone jack is actually a micro-jack which is a pain
The 6500 slide is a very nice phone indeed, I like the size compared to my old phone the Nokia N91. The camera is very good, better than some 5.0 megapixel ones.
My only real gripe is the headphone jack is actually a micro-jack which is a pain for me as I prefer to use my own headphones (I got around this by buying a micro to mini jack converter from ebay).
It works very well with my 4Gb card, so plenty of storage if you get the card. All in all not bad phone at all
Nokia 6500, smart and user friendly
The Nokia 6500 Slide is a smart looking phone, which has a strong solid feel to it, using Nokia's easy lay out to find your way around is easy as ever, the camera is excellent too, however the phone has a horrible habit of cutting out when receiving calls, but I guess this could be a network issue.
Freezes regularly and the screen flickers
I dont think that this phone is quite ready for public sale, especially since this is my third handset. It freezes regularly, the screen flickers (sometimes resets the wallpaper randomly), the buttons dont always work and I have to slide the phone open and closed again to get them to work, a bit more tweeking and it would be a very good phone.
However I do very much like the look of it, the camera quality and the internet. The battery life is also generally good if you aren't facebooking all day.
Brilliant design as always with Nokia
Brilliant design as always with Nokia so easy to use, bit of trouble with the speaker going distorted, but was replaced the next day. Looks stylish although a bit of weight on it, so much better than my old Sony.
Excellent features including wap Internet access and bluetooth which nowadays is a must. Large screen making navigation very easy
Not dissapointed with the 6500 Slide from Nokia
Nokia mobile phones are always a safe bet when deciding which mobile to buy in my opinion. I have owned a few and I,m not dissapointed with the 6500 Slide from Nokia.
It is pretty stylish aided handsomely by the slide feature when answering calls and it is fairly lightweight. I had no problems navigating through the various options due to the quality of the screen, texting and entering contacts is a breeze and the camera takes really nice pictures.
nice looking and well equiped mobile
The Nokia 6500 Slide is a really nice looking and well equiped mobile, easy to use, great features, not something to get bored of quickly. Its easy working text messages screen is great it takes just seconds to send a text now as the phone lets your store fav text numbers. Overall great phone.
Bit more bulky that thought
This phone is a little bit bulkier than I expected - there are definately smaller phones about. It's pretty fat and then you slide the thing open and it's long and fat. The buttons on the front are pretty ugly as well.
Other than that though, have no problems with the phone itself which works fine and is easy enough to use. Annoying features are that sliding the phone doesn't start/end calls.
The Nokia 6500 Slide is a good all round phone
The Nokia 6500 Slide is a good all round phone, in comparison with the N95 the 6500 is much slimmer and more solid feeling.
Excellent picture quality from the 3.2 megapixel camera, far better than the 5.0 megapixels I experienced with the N95 which is odd.
The features are very much the same as the N95 the only thing missing is the GPS navigation software,
so if you dont need the Sat Nav the 6500 Slide is a better option.
Very pleased in general
The Nokia 6500 Slide is a very nice looking phone - very pleased in general.
Great features and the camera is very good. Battery life isn't great but with all the features on the phone how can you expect the battery to last a week.
I have had Samsung, Sony Ericsson and I think Nokia win overall.
