find it quite difficult to get the back off to change SIM card
Decent overall phone. Robust design - have had this for few years dropped it loads of times and it's still working fine.
Camera is OK but as I don't really use it I couldn't say if it was high quality resolution or not. Don't know if it's just me, but I find it quite difficult to get the back off to change SIM card, I have to do this frequently as I have different accounts with several networks.
Easy to unlock for free if it's locked to a particular network (online websites readily provide codes & instructions)
surpassed itself where most phones fail, long term reliability
I have had this phone for over 3 years and its reliability has been outstanding to say the the least. Battery life is as good as the day I bought it, despite being continuously left on (including while being charged) for at least the last year and a half.
It cost £160 when new and has more than earnt every penny of it. The phone itself may be old with a poor camera (0.9 mp), but the features and applications more than make up for it.
I only chose the Nokia 6230 because it was relatively cheap, easy to use and had features such as bluetooth and infra red. From my previous experiences, I simply did not believe mobile phones could last this long, especially given the amount of abuse it has had (including countless drops onto concrete floors, left out in the rain aswell as being clogged up with sawdust and metal shrapnel from work day in day out)
What was initially a quick, cheap buy turned out to be truly fantastic. Don't get me wrong though, this was never a highly desirable phone nor was it supposed to be. But it has surpassed itself where most phones fail, long term reliability.
Bit dated, but a good reliable all rounder
A good all rounder although a bit dated and camera is low resolution. I have had the phone a number of years and the battery still keeps it's charge. It's currently used with Jabra 250 Bluetooth headset whilst mobile and reception and performance are both good.
Photos tends to come out a little grainy
My phone is predominantly used for calls and texts so functionality provided is adequate. Size and weight of phone is good. Pictures that have been taken the quality of photos tends to come out a little grainy. Internet functionality not used to date. Other applications like stopwatch and countdown timer useful.
