Nokia 6220 Classic Reviews

The Nokia 6220 classic is a 3G Smartphone. The handset is well featured and very easy to use. One of the main features includes an excellent 5 megapixel camera with Carl Zeiss lens and a Xenon flash. The date, time and location can be added to your photos also. Other features include a web browser, FM radio, video player, MP3 player and 120 megabytes of internal memory which can be expanded using the memory card slot. The smart handset also has a useful Maps 2.0 application which can show you the best routes, restaurants and attractions to go to at your location.

easy to use and is the reason I always choose Nokia.
This is a great phone, the camera on it is just as good as a stand alone camera. Its lightweight, easy to use and is the reason I always choose Nokia.
Ive never been disappointed with Nokia phones and this one is right up there. It has 2.2" screen which lets you surf the web easily with the option of rotating the screen to get a better view.
The features of this phone include mp3 player, radio, two way camera, a list of optional applications and much more. I can honestly say this phone has never let me down.
there are some issues with it's durability
This is not a bad phone, however there are some issues with it's durability. I have had it for just over a year and it is in bad shape even though I have looked after it well. There are good applications available on it, the camera is excellent and so is the sat nav application.
Sav Nav function is great and works as well as most sat navs
Classic Nokia phone with all that you need from a phone that is not a smart phone. Sav Nav function is great and works as well as most sat navs. Did find internet connect rather slow and unpredictable.
Main problem is that the cover is terrible and gets full of dust so easily. When you take the cover off it breaks so easily. Camera was good but camera software is bad and the camera does not know if it is on or off or taking a picture. Good phone but is just let down by little problems that become annoying when you have the phone for 18months.
could do with having a slightly larger key pad
I have had this phone a couple of years ago now. It was a great phone, good battery life and very reliable. Looking back I do wish that the numbers were slightly larger, I sometimes found difficulties texting. The screen on the phone however was very clear, all in all a good little phone, great display but could do with having a slightly larger key pad.

a fairly bog standard Nokia
This is a fairly bog standard Nokia - it is easy to use and looks nice. Drawbacks are that it heats up very quickly when you talk on it - and makes my ear ache [slightly worrying...]. It also has intermittent beeps when you are talking which are a bit offputting but you get used to it.
I have had mine for over a year and it WAS very reliable but now it will not hold a charge for more than 24 hours and dies without warning. The camera on it isn't fantastic either, but it's OK.
will be using it for quite a while
This handset is excellent with easy to use features. The mobile itself is very light and slim. The phone has a lot of in-built features including a English dictionary with the option to download other language packs.
It also has a buil-in navigator which isn't actually free to use. This handset has one speaker on the top of the phone but trust me; this one speaker is more than enough for anybody's needs. I admire this phone and will be using it for quite a while.
When I first got this phone I was impressed
When I first got this phone I was impressed. Within two weeks I had to to ask my network for help as the GPS and traffic alerts stopped working and the phone keeps prompting me to load an email program upload that won't install.
All the network could offer was to exchange the handset - they refused to do this though because I haven't kept the cardboard box. I have now swapped the SIM card over with my wife's identical phone and this has fixed the GPS and Traffic problems for the moment... I half expect them to come back though..

my keypad tends to stick
Although this is a nicely designed phone and the keys are of a resonable size so most people should be able to use them, there is some reason in the design that makes them stick. This in turn makes texting slow as often keys do not stick and the letter does not show up!
the # could be more flush to body
Fantastic handset overall, from the morphing between menu views to the ultra-bright xenon (i think) flash -this can illuminate a completely dark room to daylight. Only slight problem I've had is the # could be more flush to body - might break off when repeatedly getting the handset out of jeans pockets.
Only other minor thing missing is WiFi, but I've moved to this from the N95, and I've not really missed it. Its faster than the N95 too, when opening applications etc.
If the "out of 5" scoring system would allow it, design would be 4.5 and features would be 4.5. This is reasonably the best handset I've had, especially for the price.
Initially the keys were stiff
Nice looking mobile which is easy to use and manage, lots of useful facilities. Initially the keys were stiff and this caused problems when using the phone and in particular texting. However, after a couple of weeks use this has been resolved. The facilities are useful and relevant to today and what mobile users need.

good looking phone, with a very good screen and great camera
The 5.0 megapixel camera is really clear, and shows up really well on the large screen, editing is also easy and includes cropping. However its quite tricky to rotate pictures so you can use them as display pictures.
Very easy to personalise the menu's and shortcuts, but the phone can be a bit slow at times, and there are no "recently used" when sending text messages which is a bit of an inconvenience.
Also it doesnt have a torch, something which came in very handy on my old phone. Overall though good looking phone, with a very good screen and picture taking capabilities.
great all round phone with excellent features
I have had this phone for only 2 days and am already very very impressed with it. It has a fantastic quality 5.0 megapixel camera with carl zeiss optics and a video recorder that records at 30 fps. It also has a fantastic GPS feature on it which I can see myself using a lot of. A great all round phone with excellent features, maybe one of the best Nokia's to date.
Great little phone, excellent camera, screen resolution
Great little phone, excellent camera, screen resolution, relatively easy to use. Keys are a bit small for my fingers but I'm not big on SMS anyway.
Added bonus is the GPS and 2 gig card supplied with my phone - although you have to pay for the GPS after 3 months.
One serious fault - the LCD is extremely fragile. I am neither heavy-handed nor a heavy phone user but somehow I cracked the LCD, not the clear outer cover, just the actual LCD screen and no warranty cover according to Nokia. In short - fantastic little phone - pity I can't use it.

SatNav, nice MP3 player, Skype and much more
This mobile phone is very cool, sleek and minimal, however, the first negative kicks in when you hold the handset in your hand, it feels cheap and light (in the negative sense).
Once this first impression is passed you can enjoy the beautiful camera (Zeiss lenses? what's this?! I don't need it!! well, wait to try it, and then you will see... a different experience).
SatNav, nice MP3 player and much more (Skype too!), unfortunately Symbian seems to have messed up greatly the menu of this phone and sometimes finding things is not that easy but once you've organised the homekeys and got the logic of it you'll love this great great phone.
Excellent call quality even on speakerphone, superb camera
Excellent call quality even on speakerphone. Superb camera with real flash not some dumb illuminator LED. Some of the buttons are a bit on the small side but you soon get used to it. The GPS is the weak point, takes forever to get a fix, no where near as good as a dedicated street GPS like a Garmin. If you just want a good looking camera phone then it's great.
Nokia look set for another sure fire winner in the 6220
Another winner from the giant Nokia range is the 6220, with features that you would expect from a business class phone but also enough gizmos such as integrated digital camera, video recorder, and FM radio, to keep the gadget nerds happy.
It does seem that Nokia are depending upon the performance rather than the rather dull styling of the phone to generate sales which may backfire among the younger and smarter image conscious set.
But the user friendliness of the phone is admirable and the only negative feature is the poor quality screen (providing only 4096 colours and 128 x 128 pixels). In view of the pace of change in the camera market - it would have been better to hang on and provide a better camera than the one installed.
It will do for most people, most purposes and most budgets though and with the increasing fragmentation of the telecoms market, Nokia look set for another sure fire winner in the 6220.

new Nokia features and designed in a more user friendly mode
I love this phone, some features have changed so if you are a Nokia user you will need to adjust. It is designed in a more user friendly mode, a good example of this is the music file, this is now linked to the stereo instead of just a file and can be ordered via album, artist, title and this phone allows you to edit the track info on the phone. The only downside is it does not have WIFI.
Camera with flash, inbuilt GPS and a bright easy to read screen
The Nokia 6220 classic has great features like the 5.0 megapixel camera with flash, inbuilt GPS and a bright easy to read screen. Drawbacks are the phone could be a little larger for people with big hands, and the plasitc casing feels low quality, the earpiece and loudspeakers could also be much better quality.

Mobile phones are constantly being updated in a constantly evolving industry with huge demands. Where camera phones go up by the megapixel on a monthly basis and the next big feature just around the corner, it certainly can be confusing finding the right mobile phone.
Most handsets now could be classed as 'smart phones' based on where mobile phones were a few years ago with the current crop of buzz words - 3G, HSPDA, megapixel, social networking, apps, A-GPS and more. Thats why reading impartial user reviews is the best way of deciding what phone to buy next!
