I find its usability excellent

I have currently had this phone for around two years, I find its usability excellent and for this reason am not yet willing to upgrade to another model.

The functions on the phone are excellent and the usability is second to none, I can download and install applications which I can use on my phone, and can freely use the internet to browse most websites. The style of the phone is fantastic and fits snugly in any pocket I decide to put it into.

The battery life of the phone is nothing to be complained about either. Lasting around 8 hours if I am continually on the phone all day as I usually am, If left in standby mode I find it can last for well over a week which personally I find amazing.

The touch screen is really responsive

I have had the LG Renoir for about a year now, I purchased it through 3 network and to be honest it is probably the best all round phone I have ever had. I normally go for Sony Ericsson or Nokia phones but was amazed at the Renoir when it was delivered.

The phone was easy to set up and after only a couple of minutes I had configured the phone to my liking. The mp3 player is brilliant on it and so is the radio, the only draw back was the earphone socket but as there were headphones supplied that wasnt such a problem.

The touch screen is really responsive and I had no problems getting through the menu's. All in all a really good phone.

It has lots of nice features and comes with some great games

I find the sleek look of the phone great, It has lots of nice features and comes with some great games. The only draw back is when I phone numbers it ask's me to enter a certain number, but other than that it's great. The mp3 player works really well and I have made use of the 1 gb external memory card.

slight criticism is that there are not many options available to customise

I purchased this mobile as part of a package from 3 mobile and overall am fairly happy with it, it developed a problem with colours on screen after about 2 months but this was repaired quickly by the 3 shop.

It has taken a little time to get used to the touch interface but I think this was mainly because it is the first touch screen phone that I have used, I started trying to use the writing interface but quickly changed to just using the on screen keyboard and have found this to be quite quick and accurate although when my partner borrows it she prefers to just use the standard phone keypad.

The browser works pretty well with most sites and it is easy to add or navigate to favourites and the inluded applications and features are pretty good.

The camera in this phone is very good quality and although I have not used them much as I prefer to use the computer it does have some pretty good image editing tools.

The only slight criticism is that there are not many options available to customise the phone and the style of the menu's.

has a more responsive touch screen and more useful features

I had this phone after the LG Prada as its quite similar. It has a more responsive touch screen and more useful features. The calendar is very useful and is where I store all my dates, birthdays etc. It has a good selection of ringtones, alarm tones and reasonable volume levels.

The camera is ok but not as good as you might expect for an 8 mega pixel, the zoom is a bit of a let down.

has a really good camera at 8.0 megapixels

This phone has a really good camera at 8.0 megapixels and is pretty easy to use considering its a touch screen. Previously had the LG viewty and this is a much better mobile phone overall. With an external sd memory card, this phone can be used as digital camera or can store plenty o songs.

works well, is reliable and has a good design

The phone looks excellent however, due to the design scratches are easily made, so there is a need to look after it. There is a limit on the phone to save 1000 texts, after which they have to be deleted to create more space, an annoying factor in my opinion.

I also find that the phone freezes quite often especially when unlocking the phone using the on screen touch button. However; this is solved by pressing the unlock button on the side. The phone also slows up quite a lot after a number of items have been saved on there. However; the texting is easily usable and apart from the above problems the phone works well, is reliable and has a good design.

easy to use with just your fingers and the navigation is easy

I like this phone. The touch screen is easy to use with just your fingers and the navigation is easy. It would be good to have more memory for photos but memory cards are available. The quality of the pictures is very good. I like how any alarm you set will go off even if the handset is turned off meaning I don't have to leave it on all night.

will keep you entertained for hours

Absolutely brilliant, the manipulation of pictures is oustanding, although you need to sit and play. Loads of features that I've personally never come across.

The only downfall I have discovered (only had it a few days) is that there are no free games on it, but other than that it will keep you entertained for hours and you will dicover more and more features everyday.

camera is top notch, allowing for great focus and blink detect

The LG Renoir is a fantastic mobile phone. The touch screen is very user friendly and it has all the functions you could wish for. The camera is top notch, allowing for great focus and blink detect. The ability on the camera to focus on one place before taking the picture is essential especially when you have fast moving children!

One minor glitch is the keypad lock, obviously essential for the touch screen but many call centres etc require you to press buttons on the keypad and the screen keeps locking during a call having to try to unlock the keypad without terminating the call can sometimes be difficult. Like I say minor glitch but worth noting.

All in all a fantastic phone, one of the best I have ever had.

phone has been easy to use and the 8mp camera is excellent

I have been impressed with this handset. My only complaint is that I have problems syncing it with my laptop and I don't know if that is an error with the phone or my laptop and so I have notified both LG and HP of this. The phone has been easy to use and the 8mp camera is excellent. I have taken a large number of photos which have been transferred to my PC and then printed off with excellent results.

Texting I find difficult and I seem to cancel mid text by accident

This phone seems to have everything you would need, but there is just something not quite right with the usability. Texting I find difficult and I seem to cancel mid text by accident every day which is infuriating! I have had the phone for three months now and I am on the whole happy with it, although it will remain to be seen if it will last for the full 18 month contract!

suspect it does a lot more than I have figured out

This is a smart touch phone with an excellent camera and several other high tech functions. Coming from a Nokia this is not the easiest phone to understand and I suspect it does a lot more than I have figured out.

One thing that really annoys me is that it will lock the screen if it is not activated so half-way through a call if you need to press options you have to unlock it. The battery life is good for a new-age phone. I think it will stand up well against the iPhone.

I have a 2GB memory card with nearly 2000 songs on it

My biggest issue with this handset was the media player. I have a 2GB memory card with nearly 2000 songs on it and every time I went into the music player I would have to wait for it to build up a database with all the track info. This would take a good few minutes. Also, I couldn't pick a specific song to play, possibly because I had too many on it for the phone to handle? If you want this phone for music, stay well away.

I love the google maps pedestrian sat nav

I like the way it looks like an iPhone but the touch screen can be a bit difficult at times to use i.e when writing a text message. The camera is very good quality, the software on the phone can be a bit iffy at times and freeze. I love the google maps pedestrian sat nav although it can be a bit slow at times.

I love the fantastic 8.0 megapixle camera

I was first advised against this phone by a friend who has the earlier model but since they have faffed around with the touch screen calibration the user friendliness is much better. I really like the design as it has a big screen and I love the fantastic 8.0 megapixle camera.

Dont get me wrong it does take a little while to get used to the touch screen - especially when texting! but bear with it as it really is worth it!
However - my boyfriend finds it tricky to use - maybe because it has been set to my touch calibration? - but for this reason I keep the handy pen at the phones side at all times! and using that he is starting to find it a bit easier

The only issue I have with this phone is I like to really personalise my phones - themes etc - but with this the only theme choices you have are preset at either black or white

I really like the phone, particularly things such as the touch screen and wifi

After about 3months mine broke, there was a fault with the screen, one day what looks like a crack appeared at the bottom of the touch screen. It has been sent off to be repaired under the manufacturer's warranty so we'll see where it goes from there.

Other than that I really like the phone, particularly things such as the touch screen and wifi. However, I havent noticed much of the 'dolby surround sound' advertised, and have noticed the phone is quieter than a number of competitors such as the iPhone and the slightly older Nokia N95 (or even N96).

Good mobile with excellent camera

Good mobile with excellent camera, sound is too weak though! Also could do with more features. Touch screen has got good sensitivity. Not too sure about the screen lock as once locked and you have to connect something like a bluetooth then it locks and you have to remove the battery to restart the whole thing again. Maybe I am doing something wrong? Would love LG to be able to bring more (downloadable) features to this excelent phone.

fairly easy to use and it is a very nice looking phone

I do like this phone. It is fairly easy to use and it is a very nice looking phone. However my problem with it is the lack of memory it has! It has an amazing camera at 8 megapixel however there's nowere to store the pictures. Even if you buy an SD card, the memory seems to be taken up so quickly.

the phone is a total gem

This is an oustanding upgrade from the Viewty, the phone is a total gem, the only design floor is the size but what can you expect from LG. All I can say is if you want smart good looking fun for all ocasions the LG Renoir is your phone. Its menu kept simple with most features easy to get to and who needs a camera as this phone comes complete with 8mp stable camera, also it has a great divx playback option.

video camera isn't bad for a phone either

Excellent phone, great LCD screen, fantastic 8 Megapixel camera and the video camera isn't bad for a phone either.

Wireless capability is great for checking your e-mails or browsing the internet without having to pay via WAP. The included stylus is very handy if you have fat fingers too! The interface is pretty sleek and the touch sensitive screen is good apart from the occasional few mad moments where it seems to have a mind of it's own.

Voice clarity is great and the sound quality of the ringtones is good. The included 8GB memory card is a fantastic added bonus allowing you to fill it with pictures, videos and MP3's. I'd definitely recommend this phone

best thing about this phone is it's wifi

This is the best phone I have ever had! My first thought was it was a bit big... but it actually fits nicely in the pocket and isn't too thick.

The touch screen takes a little bit of time to get used to if you have not really used a touch screen phone before. The speaker on it is great - I can actually hear my phone when it rings!!... I pretty much don't use my mp3 player anymore despite the lack of equaliser.

The camera's great too (if you don't want to use the macro setting on it that is and it's got a great flash. The pictures don't look too hot on the screen when you're taking them but when you go through to the unique picture viewer it shows that it actually takes great pictures.

It's got some shake activated games which are a bit boring but that doesn't really bother me. The best thing about this phone is it's wifi, so I can connect to the internet when I can't be bothered to wait for my laptop to boot up, I love this phone!

a high-end phone with a superb camera

This phone is absolutely brilliant. It is jam-packed with awesome features. The camera is amazing, the best camera I have seen on a phone, the photo quality is amazing and there are lots of different modes on the camera.

The touchscreen is responsive and easy to use. All the other features are what you would expect on a high-end phone, wifi, music player etc. Texting is a bit difficult at first, but after playing around with it a bit it becomes easier. I recommend this to anyone who wants a high-end phone with a superb camera.

its an intuitive an easy to use top of the range phone

The LG Renoir gives the iPhone a run for its money, with easier navigation and an impressive 8mp camera that can take fantastic panoramic shots makes the 2mp camera look archaic. Using the touch sensitive screen to text quickly becomes second nature, the screen vibration when you press a 'key' makes using the phone easy to navigate. So far I have not found anything difficult or hard to understand on the Renoir, its an intuitive an easy to use top of the range phone.

design, features and usability are second to none

What a superb phone, I've got this on an Orange pay monthly contract as a free upgrade. The design, features and usability are second to none. Easy to take photo's, got it straight online through my wireless router.

Only had it a week but after my Nokia N73 it's a blessing, the music is awesome with dolby, video with Divx is far better than expected. The touchpad is easy to use and very responsive, do alter the settings though otherwise you'll find the keypad locks up straight away. Its very easy to customise to your requirements.

Network coverage is far better than the Nokia, its far more responsive and the info that can be kept in the phone is out of this world. Dont know what else to say other than buy this phone, its awesome.

camera is brilliant with the 8mp and automatic flash

This phone is really effective once you get to grips with its features and unusual layouts. The phone locks itself which is good as with the full touch screen it allows you to not make any accidental calls.

The messaging service is good and you can input text using the normal text input or you have the virtual use of a keyboard which is also really good. The colour screen is good however I have seen better on some of the older models. The camera is brilliant with the 8mp and automatic flash. To be honest this is probably the best feature of the phone.

I like the wider use of the qwerty keyboard

Camera fantastic compared to the Viewty, browsing fine except for my bank website, worked on the Viewty but can't get it to work properly on Renoir, supplied user manual as useless as that supplied with Viewty. Wifi and HSDPA seem slow, especially the wifi, I like the wider use of the qwerty keyboard and the touchscreen seems to work better than on the Viewty, all in all pleased with my purchase
