touchscreen can get annoying when you first start using it
Stylish phone, although it does not have many features. It does not break easily at all, as I have dropped it many times (yes I'm quite careless) but nothing on it has broken. The phone is not complicated at all, apart from the touchscreen that can get annoying when you first start using it. It's lightweight and has a comfortable smooth casing.
design is fantastic and there are some good ringtones
I think this phone is absolutely fantastic, the only bad point I can find is that the phone has a low battery life compared to others. The design is fantastic and there are some good ringtones however the message ringtones are rather quiet, doesnt matter how loud the volume is. Very easy to use, would reccommend.
looked really smart, but I was really disappointed with it
I ended up with this phone after having a Sony Ericsson that my son had thrown in the washing up bowl, I was really excited about getting it, it was being advertised everywhere and looked really smart, but I was really disappointed with it.
It had poor signal everywhere (network issue?) and because the touch pad on the front of the phone were heat sensitive while I was on the phone chatting to someone I would accidentally send blank texts to random people in my contacts.
Really smart looking phone, good size and shape
Really smart looking phone, good size and shape and is fun to use but can be quite difficult to text with and I have had a lot of problems getting the touchscreen buttons to work. The camera takes quite poor quality pictures so look for another model if you need a decent camera with the phone.
better models on the market in terms of ease of use
The touch sensitive pad is too sensitive and the phone itself is difficult to manoeuvre around. The phone is very easily scratched, and while it is very pleasing on the eye, there are better models on the market in terms of ease of operation. I have found the camera feature to be limited.
Camera, video & MP3 all easy to use. Battery life reasonable
Looks good, mine is pink which is a great colour, easy to use but a bit flimsy to hold when texting. Great for my needs as occasional user. Camera, video & MP3 all easy to use. Battery life reasonable. Only criticism is the touch pad slightly too sensitive and easy to press wrong key.
Despite having the problem "fixed" by LG the problem was consistent
My son got an LG Chococlate and every time he slid it up the screen turned white but re-appeared when slid back down. Despite having the problem "fixed" by LG the problem was consistent. I researched this and found that many people were complaining of the same fault, though LG did not recall the phones and I was highly disappointed.
only texting and calling then this a suitable phone considering the price
I bought this a few years ago and wasn't disappointed. Although these days it's certainly not top of the range, it does what it says on the tin.
One flaw I noticed is that when making a phone call the touch buttons are not locked meaning that if your ear accidentally touches the hang up button that's precisely what happens.
Took a little while to get used to, the camera is adequate but nothing special. The sound quality is ok too. The first time I bought this phone it lasted only one year, unfortunately it stopped reading my sim card but I replaced it with another one due to the cheap price.
If you're the type that is largely concerned with only texting and calling then this is a more than suitable phone considering the price. If you're looking for something high spec with a good camera then this is not the phone for you.
normally I would change my mobile every year, but this has changed
I have had this mobile phone for 2 years now, normally I would change my mobile every year, but having this phone has changed everything.
The mobile phone is easy to use looks great and has many features. The only downfall would be the camera, if the mobile itself had a better camera on it then it would be truly brilliant.
skips menus making it difficult to navigate
It's not the worlds best as after the first few uses the touchpad (my handset) seemed to stop working as well and when you try to access different features it skips menus making it difficult and the speaker that you use to listen to the MP3 isnt very loud and sounds tinny.
Heat-Sensitive touchpad can be difficult to operate on warm days
The KG800 is a brilliant phone for people who want to be with the fashion. It's thin, sleek looking and the touchpad controls make it the perfect fashion accessory for anyone.
But it isn't all good, there aren't many functions, there is a mediocre camera, which takes photos and videos and a MP3 player which only has a 128MB memory and no card slot.
The touchpad is heat-sensitive, which means it can be hard to operate on warm days and can manage to go through several menus if your finger slips on it.
Overall, it is a nice stylish phone but not very practical.
Gorgeous looking but didnt last long
This is a very gorgeous phone but mine broke, I could not use the touchscreen front because it unfortunately broke. I think it was due to rain, which is not very practical because the touchscreen on the front of the phone was the main thing you need to use it ie main menu, but apart from that gorgeous phone and felt very posh using it.
Excellent phone worth every penny
An excellent phone worth every penny and is also very cool and fashionable. Nearly everyone I know has this phone. It is extremely easy to use, has bluetooth and a very good touchpad. Instead of having to share the switch off button with the hang up button it has its own on the side.
Would freeze and switch off for no apparent reason
I feel this mobile wasnt up to standards of what I felt could of been met. Its appearence is slick and modern, yet its performance isnt. Within 6 months of having the phone it would freeze and switch off for no apparent reason, not good.
I personally would not recommend this phone to anyone especially with that price tag.
Too may features which are cumbersome, unnecessary and fiddly
Whilst it has the character and looks very good, it does in my view have poor build quality, too may features which are not only cumbersome to use, unecessary and extremely very fiddly to use with large hands. It is also very difficult to use in limited light and/or when in very bright light
The touch sensitive pad can be quite annoying
I find this phone to be quite good although the touch sensitive pad can be quite annoying, mp3 player is great, could maybe have better ringtones and louder text alerts. Also would be good to have other free games other than suduko, its also good for going online.
it looks absolutley beautiful, the design is fab
This is the best phone that I have had, it looks absolutley beautiful, the design is fab and the name is great. Chocolate :) Its very sleek and stylish and has some nice features on it. I would without a doubt go with LG for my next phone too as they have the best designs in my opinion.
ok phone but its keys are very sensitive
This is an ok phone but its keys are very sensitive and you only have to brush them and it will knock your message off, which if your writing a long one can be very annoying! Overall though its a good phone and I would reccomend it, its straightforward to use, its also quite nice that you can put your numbers into categories.
Already has java enabled games
I have been using the KG800 from LG for the last 8months and haven't had any complaints. The good thing about this phone is it already has java enabled games so you dont need to pay for games, however the camera quality is really poor. I never had any problems with the slide. Excellent for listening music.
I did not like the phone at first, but love it now
Not a bad phone, takes alot of getting used to though because of the touchscreen and the keys are very sensitive. I like the camera most of all with a flash, it takes decent pictures and does not go funny after 6 months like my Nokia did.
It comes with a calendar and alarm clock which I use mostly keeping me up to date with appointments etc as previously I would forget about them. I did not like the phone at first but love it now I am used to it.
fairly pleased with my KG800 from LG until this week when the screen went wrong
I have been fairly pleased with my KG800 from LG until this week when the screen went wrong. I have been told it cannot be repaired under warranty since I must have given it some impact. I know this has not happened so am unhappy about this and no longer able to use the phone although it is still under its guarantee period.
too easy to touch a button you didnt mean
This mobile is very nice looking, the only problem I find is that it is too easy to touch a button you didnt mean via the touch screen control so you can easily make a call and not mean too, which if you are in the middle of sending a text can be quite annoying, also could do with some games on it.
Compromised the usability for the appearance?
My sister and I both got an LG KG800 for Christmas and are very happy with them. I was delighted to have such a sleek and stylish phone!
6 months on I have realised that LG have had to compromise the usability for the appearance, sometimes if I even put my hand near the arrows (not even touching them) the phone would go onto the menu or something - which is a bit too heat sensitive. If I held down the camera button for a couple of seconds, the camera function would cancel. Sometimes my music would mute for no reason.
However, I do like my phone, I like the layout of the menus, how each selection is numbered and once you're on a certain section of the phone (e.g. settings) you can alternate between other sections using the side arrows.
Overall it is a good phone, although I wouldn't have bought it if it was my choice, but it's a lot better than a lot of the phones available on the market.
The battery power is not great
The LG KG800 looks and feels good, has many features including email, camera, video, texting and mp3 player. One thing I dont like about the LG KG800 is that the battery power is not as good as other mobile phones I have used, but thats my only gripe about this phone.
Very nice stylish phone
The LG Chocolate KG800 is a very nice stylish phone, first of all it is quite easy to use, the range of features are very diverse and useful.
The camera quality is also very good, but it does take a while to load up the camera and then take the picture. Overall a very nice phone, but the sliding function is a bit weak.
I always go back to my LG Chocolate
The LG Chocoloate is a small and stylish phone - easy to use has quite good memory space. Touch control is easy but can be a bit of a pain at times.
Takes good pictures but videos are not that hot. Slide phone is good, has good accessories and add ons. I have bought more expensive phones but I always go back to my chocolate.
The LG Chocolate is not worth the hassle
Nice looking phone, but overall a poor phone.
The touchscreen is very annoying, often meaning you make unwanted calls, texting is not very easy and the memory is poor.
My LG Chocolate, along with my friend's broke several times.
Really not worth the hassle.
OK to use and a good looking phone with lots of features but scratches too much and therefore starts to look old well before its time.
If LG could find a way to make the casing more scratch resistant this would have to be one of the best looking value for money mobile phones on the market today.
