main plus is the fabulous internet browsing experience

If you don't want to follow the iPhone crowd, this handset is a winner. For a Windows Mobile 6.1 handset, HTC have done us proud. It may not have the accessability or the range of apps available to the iPhone, but it does hit the high scores for usability, fuctionality and desirability.

The main plus is the fabulous internet browsing experience, which was great with Opera 9, and has been greatfully improved with Opera 10, neither of which is operational with the iPhone. You truly get the full internet experience, instead of mobile and cut down websites.

Friends with iPhones who are now bored, are looking at my Touch HD with envy, and with the touch HD2 coming soon, with a better camera, byebye iPhone.

offers exceptional usability for e-mail and web browsing

As a business user this is a phone that offers exceptional usability for e-mail and web browsing. There aren't as many apps as the iPhone and if you enjoy the distraction of apps, you probably want to go for the iPhone. For me this syncs will with other technology and allows ease of data movement.

one of the best Windows Mobile devices we've seen

This phone has a beautiful slimline design which is pleasing to the eye, very easy to use and has a large, responsive VGA screen and in my opinion is one of the best Windows Mobile yet. The GPS, HSDPA, Wi-Fi and a 3.5mm headphone jack makes for a very smart phone.

On the smooth back of the Touch HD lies a 5-megapixel camera recessed into a metallic bump -- just a shame it doesnt have a lens cover. Overall, though, the Touch HD is HTC's most attractive device yet.

At your disposal is all the Windows Mobile 6 functionality that you'd expect, including Exchange email support, Microsoft Office documents editing and viewing capabilities, and Windows Mobile media player, which supports various codecs.

Battery life is quoted at 420 minutes talk time with 3G turned on and 680 hours on standby. While we'd like to say it's as good as the iPhone 3G, we can't. Windows Mobile just doesn't offer the same ease of use, even with TouchFLO 3D. Still, it is one of the best Windows Mobile devices we've seen.

You don't need to pay stupid money for apps

Best smartphone around. Forget the iPhone, it's still struggling to catch up with the rest of the competition. You don't need to pay stupid money for apps, and it has them all in spades as it uses microsoft mobile, and best of all it looks sexy and has a really great interface thanks to the HTC Touchflo

8/10 - not the iphone but I love it

My overall opinion on the HTC touch HD is around 8/10

The features of this phone are brilliant, however lacking some of the "loved" features from my previous phone - the iphone.

The camera "can" take brilliant pictures when the right conditions are in place ie. not shaking or dark.

The camera lacks a flash though. I have found this quite annoying at times.

The look and feel of this phone phone is excellent. The screen is also very crisp and clear. I love this phone.

into smartphones/windows mobile pohones, then this is the phone for you

If you are into smartphones/windows mobile pohones, then this is the phone for you! It has windows mobile 6.1 and huge screen (which is all touch controlled) comes with an 8gb memory card (sdhc). Its not for beginners or less techy people, as it has alot of features and can take a while to find and use them all!.

It has all the best features like wifi, bluetooth, 3g,edge and hsdpa. A 5.0 mpixel camera with plenty of settings and takes very good pictures. Great battery life and all you could want from a mobile phone!.

Perfectly geared for web browsing and navigation

Pros, excellent build quality. Awesome 3.8in display. Perfectly geared for web browsing and navigation. Integrated 3.5mm headphone jack with great sound. Very loud ringtones. Cons, touch performance still erratic. 5MP camera not the sharpest. Video capture resolution too juddery

features are amazing but take a little getting used to

Excellent looking phone. The features are amazing but take a little getting used to. Love the picture quality but the camera is poor as it has no flash. Works on Windows Mobile 6.1 this is great as it's just like using my computer. Love the weather feature and the animated graphics are great.

the first phone I have ever had that hasn't had any form of error or crash

This is my first forray into a PDA style phone and I will never look back. Had previously suffered 18 months with the dismal Nokia N95, I wouldn't wish it on anyone!!

This phone is a revealation, forget the iPhonies, this is more than just style over substance. The number of Free apps make this phones potential unlimited. Probably the first phone I have ever had that hasn't had any form of error or crash in it's first few months of use.

The only downside is that the phone feature itself isn't always that intuitive, but I seem to use that the least of all compared to other functions so I'm not too concerned.
