the clear large LCD screen allows for superb clarity
The size of the Blackberry is a little overwhelming, yet the clear large LCD screen allows for superb clarity and viewing is a pleasure.
The only down side to the device is that the size does mean that simple texting with one hand becomes a thing of the past. This is definitely a two hand job. I have found that the central ball also becomes easily clogged with dirt, and as a result malfunctions. Overall though this phone is great!
link your gmail, hotmail and yahoo accounts
A user friendly phone with a sleek stylish design. You can link your gmail, hotmail and yahoo accounts to your phone so you receive mail as and when they are sent to you, keeping you up to date at all times.
Blackberry Messenger is an excellent and free way of keeping in touch with others also on Blackberry. The 3G capability on the phone means that the internet speed is quick and you can stream video for viewing.
The memory on the phone is decent but there is a memory card slot for those who store a lot of pictures and/or music. The camera quality is not fantastic and the phone is rather large. Other than that however, it is excellent.
I take the phone when I go mountain biking
The Bold is brill for sending and receiving emails, but is not so good for surfing the web. It also crashes quite often and you have to do a battery pull. It doe have a lot of good apps and all the GPS apps work very well. I take the phone when I go mountain biking and the GPS tracker still picks up a signal even when the phone is in my pocket.
the best mobile email access I have ever had
I received my Blackbery Bold 9000 through work and it is the best mobile email access I have ever had! It is amazing at keeping track of my contacts, calender, emails (from various accounts) and the Blackberry messenger makes me feel like I am part of an exclusive club, however no worries as an msn app can be installed so as not to exclude Blackberry lacking colleges or friends.
Many people compare the Blackberry and the iPhone, my personal opinion is that for business the Blackberry is far superior with its 'button' keys as personally I find them much faster to type with.
I have had my Blackberry now for nearing 18 months (the end of my contract) and just as well as (although I admit it has taken some hammering) is rapidly starting to fail on me. The battery life has dramaticaly reduced, the keys are starting to loose their facing, the leather casing has started to seriously fray and the central wheel no longer lights up and sometimes doesnt function at all.
But I guess from 18 months of hard usage it hasnt done bad and I seriously doubt any phone could have done better. Perhaps I have been slightly mean with my 3 star rating but equally I dont feel I could give it a solid 4, a case of 3.5.

I have found the email facility absolutely invaluable
Excellent phone, needed something that was rather more a mobile office than simply a phone. I have found the email facility absolutely invaluable. Also much prefer having a Qwerty keyboard. Havent found it to be tremendously expensive either. Ideal for anyone who needs email on the move.
even presentations come up crisp and clear
Excellent screen clarity, even presentations come up crisp and clear, camera and video record quality good but not excellent, music and video media playback very good. Keys as always with Blackberry very useable. Battery life excellent. Slightly bulkier than previous models but feels very sturdy because of it.
All in all I wouldn't be without my Blackberry
I've had the Bold 9000 for just over a year as my work phone and I still love it. The QWERTY keyboard is great and makes sending emails on the go easy and without too many typos!
The bright screen makes it easy to read outdoors and I find the trackball makes the menu simple to navigate.
I also find the GPS system with Blackberry Maps very useful. I don't often use the camera but it's good to have if needed.
All in all I wouldn't be without my Blackberry!

has worked fantastically well for the 11 months
I love this phone - despite many warnings of software failures prior to purchase the phone has worked fantastically well for the 11 months that I have had it. The battery life is still excellent and the speed at which the phone functions is very good.
The phone looks the part, and there is plenty of scope for personalising the phone to your specific requirements - creating and moving folders, downloading applications, managing multiple email addresses, media functions, text type, dictionary, shortcuts and trackerball speed.
I cannot think of anything that I would change about this phone - possibly improve on the 2MP camera but as I rarely take photographs this is very minor.
A quality buy - I cannot see myself using any other phone in the future.
not just for the business person
I think this phone is usable for anyone really, even though it was made for business like people. The battery doesnt have a great amount of life but lasts for at least a full day. The phone is easy to use with a qwerty keyboard. It is easy to make calls on it and easy to text aswell.
On this incredible phone you can access internet anywhere in the world and also check your emails anywhere in the world. There are many apps to download for personal and business uses.
Overall a brilliant handset
This phone has all the features you would want from a mobile handset and more, it isnt touchscreen but it has a full qwerty keyboard and well placed shortcut buttons which can be re-assigned to whatever you want them to be.
The keyboard is easy to use, screen is big and very easy to see. Wireless connection couldnt possibly be easier and has handy set up wizards for those who dont know how to do certain things. Wide range of applications from the Blackberry app store and has very good functionality.
The only problem I have with mine, same as a few other people it seems. Is the speaker has gone quiet which means if I have a loud profile or try and activate speakerphone I'm barely able to hear it.
Considering I always have mine on silent and never use speakerphone this is rarely a problem for me.
Overall a brilliant handset.

Small pitfalls that could be improved on
I am more than happy with my Blackberry Bold 9000, but there are several small pitfalls that could be improved on.
I find the scrolling tool took a little while to get used to and it can be a bit hard to use if my nails get too long.
The sat nav also seems to be very slow - by the time I have got my A-Z out it still hasn't picked up where I am on the satellites.
Overall though a good value phone and being able to access email anywhere is invaluable.
gives me everything I need for all different functions
This phone gives me everything I need for all different functions such as accessing the web, sending texts and making calls. An excellent mobile phone. I would reccommend this mobile to anybody who wants to have instant access to their mail and any social networking sites too.
it totally organises your life
What a phone! it does everything you could possibly imagine, it totally organises your life and has a lovely web browser and the email capability is imense. The only downside to the phone is the camera, however that said the phone is not about the camera it is about the exchange email, organiser capabilities and so on, oh and this baby has GPS also.

usually takes a lot to impress me but I'd go for a certain 10 out of 10
The phone has a tutorial as soon as you turn it on allowing you to change settings, set up email etc. As you visit sites such as Facebook and MSN you are given the option to download specific applications to your phone for ease of use.
It's an incredible piece of kit, Email is set up simply by putting in your email address and password and then it pushes it straight to your phone, no need to check it, you get an alert as soon as you have a mail.
As a simple phone the text and call processes are fine, contacts allow much detail, business, home, addresses, email, anniversaries etc.
1GB of Micro SD card is included within the Blackberry which you can upgrade for higher if you wish to play a lot of music or videos. Screen quality is good as is the sound. It usually takes a lot to impress me but I'd go for a certain 10 out of 10.
it really shows RIM's ambition to expand the Blackberry brand
This recent additon to the Blackberry range, has a most beautiful finish. The leather back gives it a professional business look.
With this new Blackberry, they are definitely showing their willingness to bridge the gap between the business market, and the consumer market, adding some features that will definitely make this phone attractive to more than their usual clientele.
The phone is brilliant, however because the operators are in control of the firmware updates, it can take a while, as in my case, for you to receive the latest software, there are some bugs in the phone, which make it crash, and suddenly you have no reception, the only way to resolve this is to power off the phone, and power it on again.
This said, overall the phone is brilliant, and with the new firmware releases keeping it up to date, and bug free in the futue, it really shows RIM's ambition to expand the Blackberry brand.
I needed something I could arrange my life into
This is my first Blackberry and I must say I am impressed, I needed something I could arrange my life into as I was always unorganised. The Blackberry has yet to really disappoint me, at most my only gripe is that the Bold seems to have a lack of free content but its not too bad especially when you see how much faster txts are.
