Apple iPhone 3G Reviews

Apple iPhone 3G Overview
Apple's original iPhone was a great success and they have followed it up with the iPhone 3G in both 8GB and 16GB versions. The main change is the introduction of 3G but it has also ironed out many of the niggling bugs found in the original version.

takes a bit of getting used to but is definitely worth persevering with it
Great phone, takes a bit of getting used to when you've used Sony Ericsson and Nokia for so long, but is definitely worth persevering with it.
Can do way more than I will ever use it for, but had it two months now and love it, is great even if you're in the house and want to quickly check something on the net, you dont need to wait on the pc starting up.
The back up from Apple is great too, the volume button kept falling off though, walked into the Apple store and walked out with a brand new handset in minutes, you dont get that service anywhere else.
bluetooth does not connect to most other mobiles which is annoying since
An excellent phone that has a lot of potential in future upgrades. The only things I am disappointed with are no ability to forward messages on and no ability to save text messages. Also the bluetooth does not connect to most other mobiles which is annoying since I have photo's etc on my previous phone that I would have liked to transfer.
There is also no ability to use any of your music as ringtones like with the majority of other manufacturer's mobiles.
There are plenty of good things about the iPhone, especially gadgets, the iPod function and the free applications that you can download from the Apple store, some of these do prove quite amusing and helpful.
the only draw back I have found at the moment is the keyboard
The iPhone 3G has so many features it is hard to review. Everyday more applications are available (games, utilities, search engines etc). The interface is very easy to use and intuitive.
Possibly the only draw back I have found at the moment is the keyboard. It is touchscreen and it is very easy to miss keys. Luckily Apple have thought about this and the iPhone guesses what you meant to type. Sometimes this can be annoying when trying to use slang.
The iPhone can sync your email and calendars (depending on what email provider you use. I recommend using Google mail as my mail, calendar and contacts synchronise brilliantly.
stunning phone but it is extremely advisable to get phone insurance
I was very excited to get my new phone but that soon came to an end. Within a matter of hours the phone crashed for the first of many times, when it crashes you lose all information (contacts, messages e.t.c).
It is a stunning phone but it is extremely advisable to get phone insurance because then at least your covered as if it crashes when your making a call it will stay connected until you get to your computer and sync it from new again. This phone is also no good if you dont know your way around iTunes.
There are many plus points for example iPod, games, maps, and it is very easy to add new applications and there are many that are free. The internet is basic but very handy and easy to use.
it's nothing short of brilliant, definitely the ultimate boys toy
The iPhone was always going to sell well based on the Apple name and the success of the Ipod. But I didn't expect this phone to be as good as it is.
To cut to the chase I no longer have a home phone broadband, it's now all done through my iPhone and it's nothing short of brilliant.
As a phone it's great as an iPod it's brilliant as a gadget its superb and definitely the ultimate boys toy.
Would recommend to everyone although it does occasionally crash
Would recommend this phone to everyone although it does occasionally crash due to software faults. But that aside still worth getting. Be careful when downloading other applications as this is what crashes the phone. Probably best to read the reviews before downloading.
The one gadget I now cannot live without
The one gadget I now cannot live without. You can download all sorts of movies, TV programs etc and watch them in amazing picture and sound quality anywhere.
I use this on the train, in work etc all the time, the 3G feature is a vast improvement on the basic model, although the coverage is not amazing where I live, the benefits are huge. GPS and mapping are great and once the Sat Nav is working 100% thats another gadget I can get rid of!
responsive touch-screen display, and the sleek exterior design
This is a fantastic phone. It's absolutely flawless and the potential it has with the App store is unlimited. A must buy, easily the best phone on the market. There's nothing not to love about this phone, the fantastic customer support from Apple, the fantastic and responsive touch-screen display, and the sleek exterior design.
Bit costly, but in my eyes worth every penny
Aesthetically pleasing, conforms to the modernistic technological development. Works excellent with Macs, as syncronization is perfect for a busy lifestyle, everything is in one place essentially. Bit costly, but in my eyes worth every penny. Highly recommended
I have been amazed by the features on this phone
I've had my iPhone just over 2 weeks now, and I have been amazed by the features on this phone, the app store has to be one of the best, being able to get train times for the station anywhere in the world and know if its delayed is fantastic.
There are a few drawbacks however for this product, the battery life is in all fairness shocking, I find I need to charge it up every evening after a days moderate use, do not use the gps without a charger as your battery will last a matter of minutes.
Overall though a great piece of equipment, don't regret signing up to 18 month contract.
touchpad and touchscreen are fabulous
Excellent phone, a mini computer. I specially like the Youtube, map and iPod features. The touchpad and touchscreen are fabulous. Camera is another plus point. Slim design created more attractions. itunes and downloadable music features of the iPhone could be an alternative to PC for young music lovers.
would say that this is the best gadget that I have ever bought in 50 years
I'm 65 years old and usually find all this new technology confusing. I usually get my son to help me but this iPhone was quite easy to set up although you get no instructions with the iPhone. You can however download the instructions and this is a big document running to something like 150 pages.
Battery power is poor if you use the internet or many of the applications a lot, on an average day I recharge it three times.
I find the many applications that I have downloaded cost from FREE to £4.99. I have downloaded 36 apps so far, teletext, Last FM and Tuner are brilliant and I use them all the time.
3G and wifi surprisingly are not too good in central London, reception comes and goes. However I would say that this is the best gadget that I have ever bought (and I've bought hundreds in the last 50 years) and I think that it is just brilliant.
Major improvement on the old iPhone, much much better
Major improvement on the old iPhone, much much better. I must say that there are a few features that I'm not that impressed with. You can only bluetooth to other iPhones and you cant MMS, you can only email the photos rather than send via mms and there is no video facility on the phone. Besides that its a great handset
The internet connection is an invaluable tool for me
This is a very easy to use phone in all respects. The pop-up keyboard is especially useful for me as I have wide fingers which tend to obscure 2 or 3 buttons at a time, therefore incorrect numbers are often pressed. This does not happen on this phone as the letters are displayed on an extra pop-up tab, allowing me to see clearly and if necessary, just slide my finger to a new key very easily.
The internet connection is an invaluable tool for me as I use it daily for work and pleasure. The iPod features are as good as ever. The new apps becoming available contain some very useful and moderately priced programs.
On the downside, the lack of text forwarding and direct send / receive of picture messages is a major failure of basic usage criteria. Also, a 2.0 megapixel camera, without a zoom is a pathetic part of this technologically advanced gadget. Although the pictures are quite good on the phone, they are not very useful for transferring to a pc.
This phone was a present and taking that into consideration, I am very happy with it. But, if I were looking to buy a new phone, I would not buy this until the text forwarding, picture messaging and camera let downs were sorted. Hope this helps.
disappointments is that you can't bluetooth to other phones
I like the iPhone but one of the disappointments is that you can't bluetooth to other phones, the bluetooth is only available if you get a headset. You can't play videos unless you use youtube and then you have to be in a wifi network, and with the camera you can't zoom in.
At last the Apple iPhone has grown up with 3G!
Already getting ready to make my preorder of the new Apple iPhone 3G. It has at last grown up. Some real features that should have been in the first version but for some silly excuses?
The 3G is the biggest addition but they have also ironed out many of the initial bugs.
It is also now available with a range of tariffs at half the price and on some top end tariffs for free! Have Apple and O2 realised that they can't charge over the odds compared to rival phones... I think so!
This could be the time that Apple challenges Nokia!
