The BL40 is one of the best looking phones I've ever had. It has a black gloss finish, with red metal for the top and the bottom. The capacitive touch screen is a massive 4.0" (345 x 800 resolution), but instead of being like a normal 4.0" touch screen, it's much longer. So watching movies is like watching them on a mini wide-screen TV. But because it's so long, if you don't have a deep pockets then the phone will probably fall out.
The BL40 runs LG' UI (basically you can navigate through different parts of the phone using a 3D cube) and though it's fun to use, it does tend to be slightly glitches and judders occasionally.
With a 5MP camera, the photo and video capture is pretty good. It also has auto-focus and Geo-tagging.
Overall if you want a super stylish phone with an OK camera then I would recommend this phone for you.

The software on the phone sometimes freezes and is also slow. The camera is not that great either but if I wanted a camera I would of bought a camera. I am currently with Vodafone and the 3G signal is also good. I often get coverage when out. The main reason I purchased the phone was because of its size. It is very easy to use the keyboard on the phone. But if I was to buy a phone again I would not go with LG. There software is far to slow and my friends have had similar problems with different models.

Ive had my phone for a week now. It is great, love the screen resolution, the design, all of it. But unfortunately yesterday ran out of battery and it turned off. When I turned it back on, all information was gone. Im sending it back, its too expensive to loose all your information when u run out of battery.

Fanstastic phone, has all the features you need and you can store favourites onto 4 different home screens. Touch screen is not over sensitive and doesn't interfere with calls. Has qwerty option for messaging and camera does what you need it to do. It's a bit longer that the older candy bar phones, being a touch screen you need to get a case for it too, but these can be bought inexpensively. Overall a great phone that has all that you can possibly be looking for!

The BL40 is an excellent phone, but the connection with outlook calendar is not perfect, and is not possible to include texts longer than few words in the calendar pages.
Furthermore I wasnt able to import Excel or Word files in the phone. Another problem is that the qwerty is working only to write mails or sms, but not to search names in the contacts, or other easy functions.
