The only saving grace for the phone is the camera. But that takes ages to fire up so not brilliant. The design is awful, the software is on par with symbian Nokia's from about 4-5 years ago and the PC Companion supplied by Sony works as well as a chocolate kettle. How a company as massive as Sony can release such shoddy hardware and software is beyond me?
I have had serious issues with memory. The phone See's it then doesn't. Text messages quite often appear but can't be opened. With KEYLOCK ON phone randomly makes calls or even worse downloads stuff from the Internet on its own. I have constant issues with the phone switching to emergency calls only. The touch screen is an absolute joke which means that doing anything fast on the thing is impossible.
It's the first time I have owned a Sony Ericsson phone for nearly 20 years and certainly won't be going back to them ever.

Could have been much better. Its like a smart phone without the smart. User interface is slow and poorly implemented and its clunky and rough to use. This type of phone should be smooth and a joy to interact with but it really isn't. There's no HD video recording, updates for this phone have been abandoned by Sony so problems such as the slow clock will not be rectified, even though they claim to have sorted that. The battery length is abysmal even under light use. It has the Nokia symbian interface but so many Nokia apps won't work with this Sony phone its a joke. All in all this is one to avoid. Save yourself the bother and go for something else.

The Satio in threory should be very good phone, it has all the features of a smartphone but just isn't as good. The applications are limited and are poor in comparison to other smartphones, the battery life doesn't last very long as you need to remember to close everything down otherwise the battery just drains away. I listen to music it on it everyday and if I forget to charge the battery before bed it will last for 5 minutes. The camera is the best function and it takes great photos, the video function is not great. There too many menus and it's not easy to navigate around, it's also slow to move from each menu which I find frustrating. It looks good and quite stylish but is a bit bulky. Overall I wouldn't reccomend this phone.

The Sony Ericsson Satio in my opinion is by far the worst phone I have ever known and in every respect. Purchased back in Feb 2010 when they first came out mainly for the 12 meg camera. Unfortunately I'm stuck in a 18 month contract with possibly the worst network provider, naming no names, offering no support to their customers when informing them of my frustration for this handset. I also feel that at Sony Ericsson HQ they decided to pay someone to design a mobile handset with the main aim to make it as un user friendly as possible. Ten out of ten with its infuriating usability, long winded, slow to achieve the simplest of tasks and that good old one, its own annoying niggles which make no sense. Great job Sony Ericsson!
Doing the updates don't seem to achieve much either. The main problem i would say is the software, using an old Nokia platform from around 2006. So when I first received my new handset all excited turned it on to find the same setup to my old nokia E65 I owned donkeys years ago you can imagine my surprise! At least I didn't need to read the manual. So pros and cons: Looks good, great camera even tho it takes about 5 seconds to focus make a beep then make the shutter sound with yet another delay on actually taking the picture. So don't bother taking pictures of anything spare of the moment. Oh its too late!! damn phone.......! Cons well too much to type, basically avoid this phone like the plague!

This is the best phone I have ever owned. I use my phone mostly for photo taking and with its 11MP camera & video taking facilities I've taken more media that I know what to do with... I take at least 5 photos of my 6 month old daughter everyday and was expecting my phone to start slowing down with over 900 photos saved on it... but its like it was on the day I got it! Now I'm coming up-to upgrade time and for the first time I'm considering keeping the same handset! There are only 3 buttons on the Satio and everything else is controlled by the touchscreen. When texting I like to use the handwriting facility - which is more accurate that I expected (I was a bit sceptical when I was told about it in the shop!).
