I bought my S2 from ebay about 6 months ago, as I already had my Three sim, and so far I have nothing but praise for the phone, it does everything I want and a lot more.
The Skype feature is nothing short of excellence, it saves me a fortune, and the pay as you go deal from 3 suits my needs well. I only top up every 3 months and as a light user this is only costing me £40 a year.
I do understand some of the complaints about battery life, but I charge my phone every evening so I dont have any problems.

In general I am pleased with my Skypephone, however a couple of weeks ago I stopped receiving text messages. Phone was returned to 3 and sent back fixed pretty quickly, so while it is a cheap phone with excellent graphics, camera, applications etc, as I have only had it about 3 months I am now a bit wary as to the overall reliability of the handset.

My S2 is very easy to use and it is good on the cheap tariff I am on, however I would be upset if I was paying more for it. It mainly works fine, however it does have a habit of freezing up every now and then, and I find that it is easy to press the wrong button.
The camera is very good, I would say that if you want a phone to make calls and use the camera, great. If not, maybe pay a bit more for something else.

There's so much wrong with the S2, Skype and 3's network. After 2 weeks ownership the battery has now started to give out in about 24 hours of standby/use. Even when fully charged it now keeps rebooting.
I have yet to receive any incoming Skype calls. Calls outgoing Skype to Skype keep getting dropped (but at least are free). Skype outgoing calls to overseas mobiles keep getting dropped - then I lose Skype credit for every reconnect. MY PC connects to Skype contacts nearly every time - not so the S2.
If the S2 is off 3's call divert to voice mail grabs all calls regardless. Now I can never get an incoming call on Skype on my PC - even when the S2 is switched off - 3's network hi-jacks them. I just got bitten for £6 for a 20 min call to a BT landline.
Contact listings and online statuses re: Skype on my PC and on my S2 do not syncronise. The S2 refuses to connect to a Skype contact it thinks is offline, even if my PC shows his/her status as online. Skype have recently removed the 'refresh contacts list' feature. And the text dictionary bloats by storing every word typed in.
On the S2 there are a number of links to hard core porn sites and gambling sites - great for the grandkids - not. And it is not possible to remove these or any of the other games junk. The text dictionary bloats by storing every word typed in.

I bought this phone and at first very happy with it, as I did not have much money to spend on a phone yet it seemed very stylish and had good features on it.
However, not long after I bought it (but unfortunately for me longer than 14 days after I bought it so I couldn't get a refund) it starting turning itself on and off. At one point I would turn it on and it would immediately turn itself off again.
This went on for about a week. So after finding I couldn't get a refund I had no choice but to have it be sent off to be fixed which I was annoyed about because I was left without a phone for 2 weeks, but I thought that when it came back it would be fixed.
At first when I got it back it seemed fine. But in the past couple of weeks (2 months later) its started turning itself on and off, not as frequently but it still does it. I've also found it especially does it when I'm on the train, where it will do it constantly so that got me wondering if it was to do with poor signal?
Also a new fault has started occurring as about a week ago I started getting texts from my friends lots of times, so when they only sent it once I would get the same message about 5 times. That has now stopped because now I don't receive any texts. I can send them out, but I can't receive any. People are now forever asking me if I got their text to which my answer is always no.
I believe that I should have the right to a refund even after 14 days after purchase, as I feel like I have been trapped into keeping a dodgy phone. I think its a little odd that the problems started occurring after I lost the right to return it, and so now there's pretty much nothing I can do as sending it off to be fixed doesn't seem to help.
