For the first six months of usage the phone was fine, after then if the phone got to hot from being charged or being used the phone itself would freeze sometimes lasting 2-3 days. Endless calls to Apple didn't work, neither did being able to reset or turn off/switch phone on. After a while it got very bad. The phone itself has a lovely design but the good points are outdone by the negatives. Maybe the other model phones are better given this is the lowest model. Unfortunately based on this my opinion of the iPhone has deterred me purchasing another one.

It is a useful phone for apps and such but battery life is just too short. Useful for texts and calls. If the battery goes flat overnight it won't even attempt to play the alarm tone - warning! The Internet is also very slow if you don't have wireless access. You need to get a screen cover because otherwise it will get really scratched. The camera is good quality as long as everyone in the photo stays still! In general it is a good phone and I would recommend it to others, but if it's not ridiculous expensive (as it was going to be for my contract) then there is definite improvements in the 4 and 4S that make them a much better choice.

The good things about the iPhone 3g is that is it simple to use, it is stylish, the applications, so it is good as a phone and for entertainment, and it has never crashed in the 2 years I've used it. I also love the touch screen facility. The bad things are that the screen get very dirty/sticky. I don't like the slide to answer feature, it should be tap to answer. I don't like the fact that the 3g doesn't come with a recording cam and that you need to have an application for videos. I use my phone to answer calls, play games, YouTube, facebook, read the news, surf the web, and I use applications and I very often use google maps to get from place to place. Also use skype to communicate with my family abroad.

This is the first smart phone I have ever owned and I love it. Yes, there are upgraded versions around now, but I feel no need to upgrade as my iPhone 3g does everything I need it to and more. It does the basics of making a call and texting, but it is also my lifeline. The range of apps available are amazing and most are priced between 69p - £2.50 but some can be more. With the apps you can do anything such as play games, social networking, banking, gambling, and running your day to day life.
The battery life isn't great when using the apps, you are looking at a day maximum if you use the apps for most of the day, but as a standard phone only, the battery will last a good 3 days. For a smartphone, it is really easy to use and navigate around, far easier than I expected it to be. Its simple, uncomplicated and yet does everything for you. Texting can be a little tricky if you have large fingers as the keyboard is rather small, but you get used to it. It is quite lightweight and thin and I would recommend a case of some kind to prevent scratches. It is a touchscreen phone with a really good quality camera. All in all, I highly recommend this phone if you are looking for a good quality smartphone that does everything and is easy to use.

I find the iPhone to be the best phone I have owned for usability and features. It is my life in one item. I use it as a phone, for email, a camera, diary, killing time, playing games (there are many addictive games and apps to download) and a phrase book when I am on holiday. The only problem I have with it is that the battery does not have much life when you have the 3G turned on or are using WiFi. However, I do find that it is fairly quick to charge up. Overall, a great phone and gadget.
