I decided to buy this version instead of the bigger Blackberry curve 8520 because I have never had a Blackberry before or a phone with a Qwerty keyboard and wasn't willing to fork out £199 on a phone I wasn't sure I would like using. But I love this phone, it looks great and is my favorite colour and the metal sides means it doesn't look like cheap plastic, it's a nice size not to big or small.
Took me about two days to get used to it. But this was my first smart phone and so I wasn't used to all the applications and a decent internet. Also I have never been able to use predictive text but this one is great it's really easy to use and your not going back on yourself at every word. For the internet service you pay £5 a month to Blackberry and its unlimited anywhere anytime which I think is pretty amazing and I have a good signal pretty much everywhere.
The camera is decent picture, its clear but the colour is slightly dull but hey its a phone camera not an SLR camera. Video is good as well. There are lots and lots of gadgets on it, I haven't explored them all yet but the ones I have are great, none of them are too complicated. This is the blackberry for the everyday normal person, not the high executed business man like most of their phones. It does what it says on the box. There is only one thing wrong with this phone, it occasionally freezes but this is only very occasionally so don't let this put you off.
So basically I love this phone and don't see why anyone wouldn't, I don't think I will ever go back to another phone make, Blackberry's are great I am totally in love with them. Especially as I'm not a big fan of touch screens which are the most common new phone recently. All in all very good phone especially if your new to blackberry.

When I first changed to a Blackberry from Nokia I was sceptical due to the QWERTY keypad, I thought I had been brainwashed by having a Nokia all my phone life.
However, I picked it up within days, followed the very useful "setup wizard" tool to sync all my emails and web based applications, and now it is just like having my laptop in my pocket.
The only downside in my opinion is that the pictures don't come out very clearly in camera mode, especially if an object is moving.

The Blackberry 8120 is a great phone and an easy way to access you emails at anytime. You can also use programmes like Facebook, Google, Flickr, and MSN but you must download them yourself from the internet onto your phone.
The plus points of this phone are, its easy to use and the keyboard is in a QWERTY style just like a normal computer. The trackball allows easy movement throughout the menu and phonebook just like a computer mouse. You can change programmes yourself and use the phone as a mini computer for on the go.Never miss an email.
There are however a few downsides to the Blackberry and mainly my problem was the quality of the camera. Photo's and video's arent great.
Also using bluetooth on the phone is quite difficult. Unlike a normal phone where you would search for a bluetooth user and then send them the file you wished to send the Blackberry works in a different way. In order to recieve a bluetooth file from another user you must go into your media file and verify that you want to recieve a file from another user only then when they search would they be able to find your phone.
Overall this phone is good but is the cheapest out of the Blackberry's

An excellent phone for mobile communications. Could do with being a bit more user friendly on finding and downloading applications - and could do with being more like the iPhone when it comes to apps. Email capabilities are the best on the market.

This is my first Blackberry mobile and I have to confess I'm a convert man, to put it simply this mobile feels like it's been custom built for me.
It's extremely ergonomic with the user interface being far more akin to a computer than a phone with its roll-a-ball cursor and qwerty keyboard of which is surprisingly easy to adjust from my old mobile typing habits, although the buttons are a bit on the small side the Blackberry makes up for that is the size of the screen, as it's big, bright and beautiful that's easy to see in direct sunlight and even if you've got poor eyesight you can increase the font size to a degree where your gran would be please.
The only annoying thing about the Blackberry that they fail to mention in the manual is that it can't send or receive MMS text messages unless you've changed your setting, but in order to do so you need to have the Blackberry online feature which you can't get as yet on any pay as you go contracts.
Some mobiles are really cameras trying to be mobile phones, the Blackberry however is not one of them, indeed the camera takes a good picture but to be honest its pretty standard, for stationary objects and people it's terrific but for moving things, forget it. Incidentally when the flash is set to automatic it will use the flash all the time which can give people the effect of a greasy completion.
The video camera is alright for capturing the moment but the audio always sounds distorted on playback, the voice note recorder' function has a somewhat similar problem with the audio effects varying from a mild distortion to the playback sounding like it was recorded underwater but this is all dependant on the volume of your voice and your proximity to the device.
For me the major factor in a mobile phone is music functions and if they are not up to standard then I don't want to know anything about the other functions no matter how awesome the guy in the shop raves about them, so I can assure you the music functions on here are up there with the best with its universal 3.5mm headphones and easy search facility makes it better than most on the market already but my favorite thing is that you can enable a audio boost setting on it that makes the volume much louder so much so that a warning pops up to tell you that it is about to exceed the normal levels, even with the built in speaker it's really impressive, sadly this mobile doesn't have a radio BUT I've just found out that you can get a world radio application for the Blackberry.
Finally If you are prone to forgetting to charge your phone the night before and then worry throughout the day that your beloved phone is going die at any moment and so spend the day neglecting it in a futile hope to save power then the Blackberry is defiantly for you as they can take some beating, you can use them relentlessly and leave them without charge for days on end and feel confident that when you go out in the morning that it'll still be on that evening I think the reason for this is not only battery capacity but the standby feature so that it's not using power wastefully all the time.
