I had this phone for a maximum of two weeks. It is not very user friendly and to work your way around the phone takes a long time! I found the problem was the software, it was glitchy, there were terrors with the time shown on the phone and Sony Ericsson could not give me answers to some of the questions I had.

I do not feel enough time was spent on making sure this phone was as good as it could of been. I would avoid this phone as Sony Ericsson have not spent the time in making sure it works as well as it could.

Generally a great phone. Took a while to get used to the touch screen however once used to it I found the phone very easy to operate. Problems with software towards the end of ownership with it constantly crashing this caused problems. Would be much better with a better operating system. Also had problems with the battery after a while too.

An excellent windows phone, with all the apps you need to really do stuff. Games are not a strong point, but MS Excel and Word more than make up for it.

Big problem thoough, it doesn't work too well as a phone. Well at least on Vodafone anyway. It seems there is so much crammed into this phone that the antenna is hidden deep inside, which means it stuggles to hold onto a signal.

I love it though, a really easy to use qwerty keyboard, touchscreen and an amazing screen, in a candybar size. Optical mouse is really cool. Not much cop with sound though, this phone is a little on the quiet side. Saying that, I came from a Nokia N95, and this phone is worlds in front.

Better phones on the market? maybe, the Blackberry Storm 2, N97 or iPhone 3GS, but try it first.

I found this handset poor, it is packed with features, however this makes the phone slow to update, slow to use and impossible to use without using the pointer!

Sony packed all the features in without deciding to test the user interface, I think the panels is a poor idea which does nothing to boost the phone, only confuses. The menus are okay, but changing settings on the phone is difficult, ie ringtones and message tones especially.

If you want a phone for a phone and it to be easy to use, do not get this phone. Even making a phone call is made difficult with the interface, searching for a contact is pathetic since you put in a letter and it searches the letter throughout the contact name, no use whatsover.

The Xperia X1 has a nice design and supports Windows Mobile, which runs well. The screen is very clear, is of a good size and is touch sensitive.

The disadvantages to this phone are that compared to other phones in a similar class it is heavy. This is because it supports a querty keyboard which slides underneath. Although the keyboard itself is a nice feature the stylus tends to be quicker.

The sound support is fine when playing music through headphones if you buy a good set and unlike previous Walkman phones has a standard headphones jack, however at 100% volume does break up a little depending on bitrate.

The only design fault that I have found is that the speaker is placed where you would grip the phone, when holding it in your left hand (if you are right handed and using the stylus). A good option for business use.
