Nokia has always been a strong brand for me. Mainly because I live in the country and it is the only one that can hold a signal!
I bought the cheap and cheerful 1208 while waiting for my new contract phone to arrive. For the price, don't expect anything stellar. It makes a call and does a text. The rest of the 'features' are really redundant, plus, it takes an age to get to the features in the menu.
The only real thing going for it, is the shortcut button on the main screen. For example, I use the flashlight led on the top quite often and in 2 button presses I have it on. Another press and it's off.
Reception is excellent, although the volume doesnt go up as high as I would have liked. Your kids wouldn't be seen dead with it in school, as it's a bit too basic. But it does the job and it works well.

Really easy mobile phone to use. It's lightweight and easy to navigate around the menu. Ring tones are a bit limited but for a basic phone its ok.
It doesn't have a camera built in but that in its self is not really a problem, not having a built in camera means the battery life is better. The phone charges really quickly which is a bonus.
It is the perfect phone for a youngster as a 'first' phone or for an older person not used to new technology, ideal for making and receiving calls and great for texting.

Very useful little phone. Aimed at the low end of the market, this is a basic phone with basic features. As usual with Nokia, made to a very high standard. Phone itself is quite light. Has a nice colour screen which is small but compact.
Features include an alarm clock (very good for me), calander, stopwatch and also a flashlight (a very bright LED light) which is excellent and very useful. Obviously you can text and make calls too which includes predictive texting, which I have never got used to. The keypad is very touch friendly, what I describe as a squidgy feel to it. Useful to avoid leaving it on in your pocket, handbag and inadvertently pressing load of keys.
Battery life is excellent, one charge should last several days if you are not using it that often to make calls, text, play games, etc. No real faults with this phone. If you want to access the internet, play music, etc. this is not the phone for you. If you want a bog standard phone to make calls and text, use as a spare or leave in the glove pocket of your car then this is ideal.

The nokia 1208 is a really basic phone which only has basic phone and texting capabilities. For the price you pay for it though, it is a handy little phone. This phone is probably best kept for emergencies or as a second phone in case you lose your main phone.

I've just got the phone as a replacement as my normal phone battery refused to hold its charge and couldn't wait to get a new battery. At £15 with £10 P.A.G. free airtime, I couldn't have done better.
Being of the generation when all phones where this simple if not as light, it's nice to go back to an uncluttered phone that I can simply phone or text from. I will be keeping this as my main mobile as I've got other gizmos for all the other things I may wise to do.
