The Desire S and it's predecessor the Desire are without doubt the best phones I've ever owned. It's extremely user friendly, stylish and full of functionality. Personally, I would have preferred that the function buttons on the bottom of the screen from the Desire were retained for the Desire S instead of the touchscreen versions. The battery life isn't brilliant, but is probably no worse than other smart phone batteries. Battery technology just hasn't kept pace with phone technology. I can't see myself moving from the Desire for any other phone on the market. It will take some phone to make me switch.

This phone seemed to be promising with many up to date features. This phone would have been great, if it decided to actually do the basic things phones are made for - talking and texting. Throughout the time I have had it, I have found that the phone continually experiences delays in sending and receiving text messages - between 15 Min's and 7.5 hours. I have also missed calls. This is despite the fact that when I leave the phone on my desk, the signal strength shows to be max strength or strong. I often find that I need to reboot the phone in order to regain signal strength. Even switching to 2G signal reception makes little difference to receiving and making calls/messages. All in all, a major disappointment. Can't wait to get rid of it.

I just love this phone, it's my first Android phone and I am now a total convert. The phone is quite large but not so large that its impractical as a phone and is largely due to its large screen. The screen is very clear and very easy to read even as a e-book reader with the built in kobo reader. The screen is also highly reactive to touch and a real joy to use. Battery life is reasonable it gets a reasonable amount of use and I end up charging even 36 hours or so. Also even when several applications are running the processor doesn't seem to struggle, frankly it runs better than my laptop! Highly recommended!

Excellent phone with the latest Android 2.3 Gingerbread. Takes real lovely, good quality pictures. I use mine for 3 email accounts which I set to update every 15 Min's, also facebook, twitter and eBay on a daily basis. Charges through my laptop with USB. Recently had a windows 7 phone and couldn't be bothered with all the complaints I had with it. My husband has the Desire and he loves it, so that's why I got this 1. It has a flash player installed that is useful for playing online gaming such as Bingo. Definitely a modern stylish phone that keeps you glued to all the things it does. I also watch TV and listen to music on it for free from selected Apps.

Excellent phone for apps, touch screen is brilliant, especially compared to a lot of other phones. Android market applications are great, nearly something for everything, and more that you wouldn't have thought of. Bad point is the battery, which does need charging everyday at least once. With heavy use I have had to charge it 3 times in one day! Not great for business use but good for social, in the top 5 of android phones out in the market today. Slider for unlocking very useful, means it does not unlock in your pocket or put out any unwanted calls. Be careful when cleaning the screen however, if it is unlocked you will be pressing buttons and doing all sorts of damage!
