I bought the mobile phone with two things in mind. First was the ability to read Word documents as I send them often in my job and second to stream Flash based video content from the Internet. This phone does neither. I knew that I could probably find a Word reader on the Android market and so it proved that but I was not able to resolve the Flash issue. I found out later that the phone's processor was not powerful enough to handle Flash and so the manufacturer left it out of the software. I believe that an Android phone in today's media climate should have the ability to play Flash video as a standard.

My second issue was with the battery life. Again due to the popularity of Apps on the Android market, phones such as this one are being kept on much longer as users browse the Internet, play games and of course make calls. Such high activity is not possible on this model. The battery drains very quickly if the user wants to take full advantage of the features included. Along with poor battery performance the phone's internal memory is very small. Again, one of the Android phone's main marketing strategies was to promote Apps. Apps come in many file sizes but this phone can only store a small amount. Some Apps can be stored on an SD card but not all. I have found that I often have to delete an app before I can put a new one on.

Finally the button placement on the HTC Wildfire S is standard for the brand but slightly poor for gaming. Gaming buttons are often found at the bottom of the screen and this is also where the Wildfire S's main buttons are including, unfortunately the return button. Many times whilst trying control my game I have pressed the return button and exited the application. Other than those issues the phone is a very good phone. I bought it because it was affordable and if the issues above were not present then I would be delighted with it. As is stands however, I cannot claim to be anywhere near satisfied. The drawbacks are just to great for me to call this a good phone.

Considering the amount of things that I use this phone for it is very good compared to other phones I've had. I enjoy the touchscreen and the interaction it creates. I like being able to use the apps, although a few of them are too big for my phone and I have to delete other things to make room for them. There is an option to move certain apps over to the memory card, but not all of them. It seems a shame that there is so much memory on the card, but not that much on the phone. If I could transfer everything over to the card it would be fine! I enjoy the weather application that creates rain/cloud/snow on the screen when it is forecast. I like the feel of the phone in my hand and I like sliding the screens around with my finger! The battery doesn't seem to last longer than a day, but I do use it pretty much constantly while I'm awake!

I at first was torn between this and the iPhone 4, however I am glad I chose the the HTC Wildfire as it appears to have allot greater battery life than the iPhone 4 and can do practically the same things. It's nice, compact, easy to use and the camera produces a good quality image. I have found that storage is not a problem, I have 450 photos stored on the SD card and can flick through them and have 5 complete music albums which I can view and play without the phone stalling, crashing or freezing like some do. The range of apps you can download is astonishing, some very useful and some just for fun. I personally have not had any problems at all!
