This phone has some good points, its lightweight and charges quickly but needs charging regular times a day and there's not much phone memory. The touch screen is simple to use but can be touch sensitive. Its signal strength isn't very good, takes ages to load any Internet including apps and the GPS signal is rubbish. Overall a very average phone I certainly wouldn't recommend this phone to anyone, its not very good. Has a lot of built in apps like an FM radio, easy access to the market, Google maps, Google talk, easy access to synced email addresses. The graphics aren't too bad either.

Good points: The phone operates on the Android system and has great apps that can be downloaded so you can have fun with your phone. The LG GT540 is a modern looking smart phone. Access to the Internet is quite quick especially if I connect to WIFI at home (although a little slower if I use my phone network provider)

Bad points: The biggest negative scroll mechanism is clumsy and very hit and miss; when it comes to making selections within the phones programs. An example of this is when you try to change settings. The scroll function is so sensitive (despite having set up touch calibration), that if you are scrolling through the menu to find the setting you wish to change; you can often unwittingly change settings that could have all sorts of consequences including compromising your phones security. Another annoying thing about scrolling is the use of contacts it can take 2-3 mistaken calls being actioned by 'scrolling over sensitivity', before actually calling the contact you require.

I use my phone every day for texting and phone calls also to access the Internet, also to purchase small items online. I feel I lose out here again because if my text is long, the phone automatically converts the message into converts the sms into a mms and then it despite numerous attempts to send it, it will not go.

The 'options' menu on this phone do not give the option of re-sending the message. I have often had to re-select the message and then send it as an email, which doesn't really have the desired effect if the recipient does not check their email very often or have email notification set on their phone. The only option then is wait till they go on their email or ring them to let them know you've sent them one (in which case I may have well just called them or sent a shorter text).

I bought this phone knowing about the touch screen difficulties. The screen is quite responsive though. The applications also work fast and spring into action quickly. The two buttons/touch buttons below the screen are quite unresponsive and sometimes take several presses before they respond. This phone is a great design, I like the design a lot better than the iPhone 4 because it is just more tactile. The colour choices are good too although I'm opted for the black one. It does have a brushed look finish. I did not like the text entry on this phone it was rather confusing at times, perhaps my fingers are too big for it.

The optional 7 home screens is a great function as you can choose which widgets to apply to each screen allowing you to have tailored home screens depending on your mood or time of day. The connectivity of the unit is vast it connects to WiFi quickly and remembers the spots for you. It has a quick download speed although I suppose this depends where you are and what network you are connected to. 3G function is also fast at browsing and downloads as well as the e-mailing and Sim functions are also top spot. All in all it is a fast responsive phone that definitely punches above its £100 price point. I would recommend this to Android lovers although the Android user interface is already well out of date. The phone is a credit to LG and what can be achieved for a lot less than the price of an iPhone.

I would recommend buying this phone because of the amazing smart phone features that come with this phone. The camera is also very good. Also the design and shape of the phone is so modern and will look great on anyone. The touchscreen is very responsive in comparison to the other LG models that I have had.

The colour is very pure on the screen and when pushed hard the LCD does not bleed which is another disadvantage I had for the last one. Although the camera is good it is without a flash, and the battery is very bad and goes very quickly. I use my phone all the time on a day to day basis, I always browse on the Internet using fast speed and great performance from my phone, I am able to get my emails form my phone so looking on my computer is unnecessary.
