Figures from the US show that downloads from the Apple App store fell by almost 30 percent in March, down from 6.35 million per day in February, to 4.45 million. It seems predictions that interest in the iPhone was on the wane were wide of the mark, as Apple posted higher than expected revenue figures, on the back of a surge in sales of the iconic smartphone. Instagram, the popular photo sharing application available for Apple iOS devices, has opened up online pre-registration in advance of the release of the Android version of the app. There is still no official word on just when the app will be available for release, but it is hoped to be in the not too distant future.
