Barclays have updated their smartphone payment service, allowing users to pay bills directly from the app, as an alternative method to paying by cash, cheque or credit card. Launched back in February, Barclays Pingit is the first UK based payment service, that allows transfer of cash to be sent to anyone with a UK mobile phone number and bank account. The corporate payment system allows businesses to setup a Corporate ID and a QR code, which is linked to to a Barclays Corporate bank account. England fans travelling to watch England play in the Euro 2012 Football Championships have been warned of the potential risk of high mobile phones bills, due to the Ukraine being outside the recent EU wide cap on mobile phone roaming rates.
